ch 2

Mark excitedly moved about his farm the next day, he was eager to finish quickly and go visit Wada and Shea. As he raced through town, he found himself zoning out as he walked, crashing into Elliot and landing hard on his behind. Elliot's eyes were wide as he spewed out mulitiple apologies, rushing to help the other up.

"I'm so sorry Mark, I should've watched where I was going!" Mark smiled and gratefully took the others help.

"It's no big deal Elliot, I wasn't paying much attention either, don't worry too much." He dusted himself off, and then remembered why he was in such a big hurry. "AH I should go, thanks for the help up!" He called, rushing by a bewildered Elliot and off towards the square. His trip was otherwise uneventful, and he was glad once he reached the jungle that he hadn't worn a heavy shirt today. It was so humid here, the thin shirt stuck easily to his chest and he pulled off his hat to fan himself. Now that Mark wasn't racing after Shea, he noticed the small path that was already beaten down through the foliage. He walked through it and in no time could see the hut the two lived in, walking up and knocking on the door. It swung open moments later, Wada's face annoyed until he seemed to realize who it was.

"Shea.....river....." Wada said and pointed to a larger trail to the left, then Wada closed the door on mark, surprising him. Mark took the hint though, and followed the path, the sound of water soon reached his ears. Shea was standing up to his stomach in water, holding a spear and concentrating on the fish swimming around him.

"Shea?" Mark almost whispered and the others eyes moved to look at him, a smile gracing his features. He gestured for Mark to come closer, and swiftly stabbed the spear, yanking it out with two fish jabbed on the end.

"Mark, Shea was fishing." He smiled and moved to the shore, pulling the fish off and placing them in a small woven basket with a few others. Mark felt his face grow hot when he noticed the other was barely clothed and soaking wet, his skin shining in the light.

"I see that, you certainly a good fisherman." He smiled at Shea and moved to sit with him as Shea gutted the fish.

"Mark fish?" he asked softly, his eyes staying on his work as he spoke. Mark nodded, and leaned forward on his knees, fanning himself with his hat again. Shea washed the fish off in the river and set it aside in the basket.

"Shea think Mark need cool off." Shea grinned at the other and stood up, pulling Mark towards the river. Mark knew where this was going and yanked off his boots and shirt, a dip in the river would be nice in this weather for sure. Shea grinned, happy to see the other would take his idea, and he ran, diving into a deeper part of the lazy flowing river. Mark happily joined him, the cool water feeling so nice on his skin and he floated in the cool water. Shea giggled like a child, splashing around eagerly and waded over to Mark, grinning cutely.
'Cutely...where did that come from?' Mark though, his face flushing again. He had been kinda odd since meeting Shea, though he hadn't though much of it, he was always excited to make new friends.

"Mark come to see Shea?" Shea asked, his head the only part of him above water, and his hair flat from dunking it.

"Yeh, I came to visit." Mark smiled when Shea beamed at the knowledge. They both spent awhile int he water before getting out and walking sopping wet back to the hut, Shea hung his loin clothe and headband above the fire to dry. Mark was blushing again, it seemed the other was not embarrassed about nudity, and was trying to urge Mark to give him the pants and such to dry. After a bit of a struggle, Mark found himself and Shea sitting nude except for a blanket Shea had given Mar to cover himself with. Mark really hadn't noticed until now, but Wada wasn't anywhere in site, though he supposed the other didn't stay in the hut all the time.

"Shea, are you the only two that live here?" Mark asked suddenly, Shea's eyes widening at the question and then nodded.

"Wada found Shea and looked after Shea. Wada no family except Shea." He said, nodding as he spoke. Silence reigned once Shea spoke of this, but he was quick to fill it, moving about and gathering things to cook the fish with. Mark found himself watching Shea intently, his eyes straying lower every so often. Shea was quite handsome, and Mark had been alone for some time, the thoughts made him blush and he shook his head. He shouldn't think such things, he didn't want to frighten away the other. He relaxed, drifting off as he listened to the sound of Shea cooking the food, the fire warming him as he slept.
