Beginning

Sleep had come very easily for Kalas. He remembered extreme exhaustion, and the events that preceded it, though the latter was somewhat vague.

It felt like he had been asleep for a long time, and when he awoke, somehow he still wanted to sleep. In fact, he almost didn't want to open his eyes at all. But he did anyway.

He saw that he was still in the area where he was 'attacked'. He now realized that the large rock he found was to be some sort of bed, and whatever clothing was still usable became a sort of blanket.

"Aaagh...my head...what happened...?" He sat up and looked around the area. "Oh, yeah. That thing came and did all that stuff to me."

Getting off the rock, Kalas tied his cape around himself and walked toward the entrance. He would have to think up of a story to tell Xelha why he had been gone for so long.

Obviously, Xelha wasn't happy about Kalas suddenly disappearing for nearly a day, and with almost no clothes on at that. Kalas told her that he was skinny-dipping somewhere, lost his clothes, and forgot his errand completely. At least it looked like she took that. Xelha obviously wouldn't believe him if he told her a tentacle monster raped him.

Later that night, Kalas couldn't sleep. He had a feeling that the monster did more than rape him. He knew the monster did more than that. What he felt wasn't a fluke. He knew that creature must've laid something inside him. If this were true, Kalas would have to go incognito for a while.

He snuck out of bed and made his way to the kitchen. Once there, he got a pen and paper and hastily wrote a note to Xelha. It said this:

Xelha:
Went to the Celestial Alps for a while.
What really happened to me is something so horrifying, you wouldn't believe me.
I have to go into hiding for a few months because of this problem.
Don't look for me.

-Kalas.
P.S. Relax. It's mostly not your fault.

After writing his letter, Kalas quietly walked back into his room, grabbed as many clothes as he could, stuffed them into a traveling bag, and quietly left the house. He wasn't sure if there would be an express liner at this hour, but he was willing to risk it. He looked back at the house once, then ran off, out of town as quickly and quietly as he could.

He could never live this down if Xelha found out the truth.

When he got to the docks, it turned out there was an express liner on its way to Alfard, and it could stop by the Celestial Alps on the way. Kalas quickly got on and sailed to his destination, the old cabin hidden in the mountains.

After Kalas arrived (not really noticing the captain's evil eye when Kalas jumped off suddenly), he made his way up the mountain, going through numerous hazards and thick areas he didn't remember going through the last time. However, he simply passed it off as him simply taking another, easier route.

Soon, he got to his destination. The Caplins that once flocked by the dozens outside were now all gone, probably off somewhere else in the mountains. He pushed open the door and looked around his new home for a few months. Still looked the same as the last time he was here. Kalas entered the room to his right and set his things down. This was where he would be sleeping, and the other rooms would fulfill whatever he needed.

Kalas began to unpack when he felt something move inside him. This proved it. Something was indeed living in him. If it were an egg, like he thought, it must've been on the verge on hatching when it was laid into him. Feeling it move now meant two things. One, it hatched already, and two, it was going to be huge when it was born.

Finally settling in, Kalas sat down on his bed and rubbed his still flat stomach. He knew it would not be long before he would start gaining weight. Whatever this thing was (he knew it wasn't human. The creature that fathered it certainly wasn't), he was probably going to have to take care of it when it was born. All he had to say to that now was,

"Damn tentacle monster. Fucking me and knocking me up. When I see him again, I'll..." He'll what? What was Kalas going to do if or when he met that creature again? Kill it? Cuss it out? What?

Well, no need to dwell on it. He would cross that bridge when he got to it. With that, he flopped onto his side on the bed, and went to sleep, wondering what would happen tomorrow.
