Sister Varity's Storytime-Tale of the Emperor
(A/N: This was a quick piece done for /tg/. I have to thank Sister Varity for giving me the idea and base to work from)
The children of the Schola Progenium gathered in the leisure room and Sister Varity sat down for their monthly story time. They quickly fell silent, showing her their discipline. "So children, what story do you want to hear this time?" The children started yelling out names of stories for Varity to tell them. "Can we hear about the Emperor?"
"Of course, once upon time there was a man called the Emperor. He took over the whole Galaxy and was not afraid of anything." The children looked up in joy, even though they knew many of the stories Sister Varity told, she made them come alive. "But one day He became very lonely. So He made twenty little Emperors. But before they could grow up and go on adventures, the forces of Chaos stole them!"
The children looked up in fear. "What happened them?" "Where they okay?" "Hush, little children, let me continue. He was able to shield them and all Chaos could do was throw them far away into the galaxy. This saddened Him greatly. But the Emperor would not rest till He found his wayward sons. He rose an army of the faithful and gave them the power to be mighty warriors. They went across the galaxy, showing the Emperor's light to all that had seen Him. One by one He found His sons and they joined their father. Together none of the faithless or foul Xenos could stop them and the whole Galaxy shone in His bright light. But the foul forces of Chaos would not be so easily stopped and the glorious light of the Emperor made them cower in fear. The Emperor's first son, biggest of them all, went out in the galaxy alone one day. Not knowing the dangers that were out there, lurking in the shadow's width." Varity paused, knowing the sad part of the story was about to begin.
"He did not listen to his father's wise words and instead trusted in the lies of Chaos. They twisted words, until the biggest son did not know right from wrong. He spread his words of deceit till half of little Emperors were on his side. The biggest son had a plan, to kill the Emperor!" The children were shocked, how could anyone think of trying to kill the Emperor? Varity resumed her story after a deep breath. "Together they went and tried to kill the Emperor! But his loyal sons would not standby and let this happen! As the fleet of the traitors came to Holy Terra, Home of the Emperor, they stood ready to defend it! But the traitors had gathered many unfaithful ones and not all the loyal little Emperors could make it back in time. The loyal sons fought hard, but the battle was not going well." "What happened next," remarked on the children "Did he make it out alright?" She raised her hand for silence and the well disciplined children fell instantly silent.
"The Emperor concentrated and the shields on His lost son's ship fell. The Emperor gathered His sons and they teleported together on the ship. The little Emperor with wings like an angel fought the lost son. But he lost." The children were shocked at the transpiring events but they knew to keep silent and let Sister Varity continue with her story. "Upon seeing His son die, the Emperor slew his lost son, but not before He was badly wounded. His most stalwart son helped Him up and brought Him back to Holy Terra. There the Emperor designed a throne for Himself and placed himself in it. With this throne He could use all his love* for us to shine a light across the galaxy and guide us when we are lost."
The children looked up in awe at the Sister, it was a sad but wonderful tale of the Emperor's love for them all, with that she pat them on the head. It had grown dark and now it was time for them to go to bed.
