My Monster

A Note To Readers:

This story contains some offensive material including: Very light Yaoi/homosexual/Slash/Bl Relationships (That will progress in level as chapters are added), some gore, and mention of lab animals, guns, Strong Language, and death. If any of these things offend you, remember you don’t have to read this.

This story is based off the Game universe of Resident Evil. The story contains almost strictly OCs (if you can find the only mentioned RE character you get a Zombie!). This Story was a result of needing a back story on a villain for an RE RP.

If all of this is ok, please keep you hands away from the Monsters and enjoy the Ride!

My Favorite Monster

Ch-2 [My Monster]

A GZ/MM Project

-----

Lewis’s POV

I hadn’t slept in days, every time I closed my eyes I would have images of Lazaries turning into one of those horrible monsters. I had an anti-virus ready, the test subject had survived the shock of injection. The infection had been halted and reversed. I was now jogging to the lab, syringe in one hand ready to use as soon as I could enter the lab. The Doctor only had a few hours left, before bonding was completed. At that time the Anti-Virus would become deadly to him. In either case I would be able to save him in the end.

I blinked the moister from my eyes, focusing as I came out of the stair well and into the hall.

Several of the members of the science department were milling around the lab. The big plate glass window was shattered, the glass littering the hall floor. I couldn’t move, blood turning to ice in my veins. ‘I’m too late, how could I have failed him’ I could feel myself begin to shake, emotions running rampant. I was snapped back to attention when one of the investigators called to me. They hadn’t found him, they wanted to know if I knew. It was the only chance he had, I bolted down the hall. I didn’t know where I was going only that the time I had was now running out.

“Lazaries!!” I knew screaming running down the hall was not the best move, and that it was only a matter of time before some one stopped me. I knew I looked mad, but I didn’t care! Time was slowly escaping me, and I couldn’t fail him a second time.

-----

Lazaries’s POV

“Lazaries!!”

‘Lewis’ I could hear him yelling in the halls. His plea for me was desperate, it tore at my heart with its urgency. I had to catch him before security did or my escape would have been pointless.

I had made my escape only an hour earlier, much to the distress of the security AI. I had been very impressed with my strength, when I on the first attempt had managed to ram through the four inch safety glass. A bit dazed I had laid amongst the shards for a moment before I remembered my mission. Forcing myself up, I ran down the hall hoping to catch Lewis in the lab. I had turned into the room only to find it vacant of the one I was searching for. The computer was still on. Displaying some type of data on our F-agent, but having no time to read it I ignored curiosity.

I could hear him getting closer, but also the sound of the security alarm going off. The building would lock down in the next ten minutes or so. I didn’t have time, not to be reasonable anyway. I dropped to the floor from my vent hiding spot, landing with a new type of grace a foot in front of Lewis. He slammed into me, before he had completely comprehended what was going on. Confusion lead to excitement, he was trying to talk but was too winded. Hearing the calls of security down the hall I gave up on my plan to do every thing smoothly, and grabbing Lewis slung the young man over my shoulder.

Lewis’s POV

Suddenly something dropped to the floor in front of me, the movement was graceful and in a way predatory. I had barely registered that the white haired man in front of me was Lazaries when he lunged at me. He caught a hold of me at the waste, using the momentum to swing me upon his shoulder. I had the wind knocked out of me by the force, and for a moment was too stunned to try and do anything.

Regaining a bit of my composer, I managed to croak out a still breathless “La..Lazaries!” The pain in my gut from the rather forceful grab, reminded me that my beloved friend could have possible started to go mad from the infection. The slow dawning of this fact made my stomach turn. The man I had once very much respected and cared for, at this very moment could very well be intent on killing and consuming me.

Panic set in, I had to work quickly if I was to stop the process from reaching completion. I began to squirm trying to free myself from his Iron like grip. We were moving though one of the equipment access shafts, just past the last Bio Hazard door. The path would open out into an empty warehouse yard. I had to stop him before he got out of the fenced area, or he’d carry the infection outside into the world.

Abruptly he stopped, letting me slid off his shoulder before pushing me with one hand against the metal siding of one of the weathered buildings. I let out a startled yip from the continued rough handling. He wasn’t looking at me, eyes searching our surroundings much in the same way a startled animal might. His nose twitched and I realized more then seeing he was scenting our surroundings. I was fascinated by the change in him, his normally monotone way of going about things; it had been replaced with a well tuned set of instinctual actions. I was terrified thinking of what it was he was going to do to me.

He was leaning in now, secure in the lack of threats in our immediate surroundings. He allowed him self to rest his body barely against mine, his head resting cheek to cheek with mine. Lowering his head I could feel his hot breath ghost across my neck as he once again began the action of scenting.

“With the glass I could not tell if my assumption was correct about you Lewis. It would seem however you’re more then an acceptable choice.” I went ridged at the feeling of my once cold and emotionless boss, gently nuzzling my neck. “I sorry for harming you Lewis.” That having been said I felt Lazaries lick my neck.

“…I…I…Lazaries?” I was stuttering, my breathing heavy. I felt faint a mix of terror and happiness causing my heart to jump.

He was now leaning back, holding himself away from me by bracing his forearms against the wall on either side of me. “Lewis I will explain later all that I have discovered. For now I want you to relax. I’m not sure how well I understand what I need to do, and the less you fight the less likely I am to harm you.”

“Wait!” He was a mere inch from my face as I managed a surprised little shout. “I need to, get the…” I had managed to fish the hypodermic from my pocket, popping off the plastic cap with practiced ease. But Lazaries cut my explanation off, tone raised slightly in frustration.

“Lewis, the sooner I can get your DNA the better my chances become.” He was smiling at me, the look in his eyes both sweet and stern. My mind was racing trying to match words to expression. I was so confused, was he a man or a monster? “You will be my mate Lewis” He purred, letting his lips gently brush against my cheek.

“Lazaries, I’m going to save you…” I could feel my eyes tearing up again. He finally showed me some type of acceptance and now I would have to kill him. The infection was too deep into him to be reversed. I looked up into his eyes one last time, and he moved forward. His lips were warm against mine, almost fevered. The kiss was a bit sloppy from his lack of experience, but his enthusiasm helped. I broke in that moment, giving in briefly to the emotions that where pulsing inside me. I gave in kissing him back with all the passion I had never gotten to express.

Then I felt him bite my lip, and the magic of the moment was gone. With a startled gasp, I swung my hand up to his neck. The needle slid home with little resistance, and the contents had been emptied into his vein seconds later. He pulled back from me with wide confused eyes, my blood staining his lips and running down his chin. “God, Lazaries…” He swayed briefly before collapsing forward into my arms, I allowed for our bodies to slide together to the ground. His body was shaking violently, breaths coming out ragged as I held his head to my chest. “I… I’m” ‘sorry?’ How could sorry possible express everything!?’.

He turned pain hazed eyes up to me, searching my expression. He raised one twitching hand to my cheek. “…Le…w…is…” he hissed, before closing his eyes. I could no longer hear him, as he mouthed out his last words. Finally with one last convulsion, his chest stopped rising and falling. I let my fingers rest against his neck, feeling his jerky pulse stop. Gently I pushed his eye lids shut, smiling at his peaceful look.

I began to cry, letting the sobs wrack my body.

“Well isn’t this pathetic.” Startled my gaze shot to my right, falling on a tall man dressed in all black. He was moving forward now, a malicious smile in place. “I will be taking the specimens’ corpse now.” Horrified at the ideal of having Lazaries body dissected by the men back in the lab, I felt a new strength come to me.

“No!” I slipped from under Lazaries body, standing defensively in front of the corpse of the most important person in my life. “You are not going to defile him!”

“Wrong answer.” The man was on me a moment later, grabbing me by the neck and arm. I let out a shriek as he twisted and snapped my arm in his fierce grip. I began to kick at the beast frantically, as he hosted me by the throat off the ground. He slammed my body into the wall, and I let out a pained sob. “I am going to enjoy this” He smirked at me, squeezing my throat tightly.

“Let go of my mate!”

-----

Lazaries’s POV

I could feel the burn of the injection even before I had pulled away from the kiss with Lewis. I could only stare in confusion at him, unable to comprehend what he had done. The burning sensation in my veins continued to intensify, and the strength began to fade from my muscles. “God… Lazareis” I lost the stability in my legs swaying briefly before I fell forward. Lewis caught me, struggling a bit to keep my body up before we sank to the ground.

He cradled my head against his chest, speaking in a strained whisper “I… I’m…” My body was trembling uncontrollably, the pain was fading to a horrible warm numbness. My breaths where heavy, each one a fight to force in and out; my heart beating in a wild unsteady rhythm, faltering as the moments stretched on.

I managed to force my gaze up briefly, wanting to console Lewis. “…Le…w…is…” I Managed to hiss between the sporadic shocks of pain. I was too tired to hold my head up, and let it fall back eyes closing. The heart beat in my ears was so loud, I couldn’t hear myself continue to speak. “It’s Okay… It…s…Okay…I understand”. My entire Body went taunt, as the worst tremor yet ran through my body. I could not manage to force myself to breath, or even to move at all. I could feel the world collapsing in on me, as my heart fluttered to a stop. The world ceased to exist.

“Aahh!!” I heard the horrible pained cry clearly. My mind was too muddled to connect at first what was going on, to make sense of the terrible pain of my heart restarting. My body was turning itself back on, with no more ceremony then one turns back on a circuit breaker. My Lungs suddenly pulled deep, and with a gasp I was born again to the world. Still dazed I rolled to my side head spinning, senses over loaded with the new level of information coming in.

Then I spotted Lewis. I am and have always been a man of mind, science, things that can be formed with numbers and equations. In that single second however all my mind had room for was the fierce instinct that flared up in my gut. I managed to stand, swaying badly learning to use my legs once again. With all the tact of a ragging animal I growled out “Let go of my mate!”

The startled man dropped Lewis in surprise, starring at me with a look of shocked realization. Lewis was coughing, arm twisted unnaturally, I could feel the Anger building to a crescendo with in me. I lunged with a yell, at a man I normally knew I had no chance against. I caught him off guard with speed, bringing him quickly to the ground. His eyes wide with fear the man brought around his knife, lodging it deep into the top of my shoulder. I felt very little pain from the action, attention focused of breaking the man's neck. He struggled briefly with me, before resorting to his gun. The first shot grazed my temple, the second my neck. The third hit home, and struck a lung.

“Snap”

The man went limp. I sat over his corpse for a moment, breath coming out raggedly. I had just killed a trained soldier, with my bare hands. The feeling was surreal, I knew I had just committed the most unforgivable crime of mankind. Yet the only thing I could think about, was the safety of Lewis.

I stood, feeling the sting of where the bullet had passed through my chest more sharply. Lewis had his eyes locked on me, he held his twisted arm with his good hand attention focused on me. I could see the bruises beginning to form across his lightly colored skin, he had to have been in a great amount of pain. I began to more forward, only to have him pull back from me.

Lewis’s green eyes were bright with fear. I had failed, my mate was now terrified of me.

“You’re supposed to be dead!” His voice quivered, emotions running rampant. “The Anti-Virus should have killed you! It’s only made things worse… Your eyes! …Lazareis… I can’t even save you with death…”

He let me approach this time, body stiffening as a placed a calm hand onto his shoulder. “Lewis, you have saved me.”

“No! You’re a monster! I let you become a monster! The agent has bonded to your DNA, you already have a mutation!” He turned away from me with a jerk. “Why?! It’s not fair! It’s…Not…” Lewis was a bit hysterical I realized, but that seemed reasonable. The man he viewed as teacher and hero, who I suspect he once had a crush on; had turned into a terrible beast. He began to sob again, letting himself fall back to rest heavily on my chest.

“Lewis, you have become so emotional.” I put my arms careful over his shoulders, avoiding his obvious injuries. “Lewis, I’m going to be fine.” He looked up at me, jade eyes filled with shallow hope. “I was going to tell you, but we were running out of time. I bit you so I could use your DNA to begin stabilizing my own DNA. You Anti-Virus only worked as a catalyst to rush the process, it caused every thing to set much more quickly then I had calculated.” I rested my chin gently on his head “Lewis, if you had not stopped my heart; the damage caused from fighting that man, would surely have triggered a mutative reaction.”

“Lazareis?” He had turned his face away from me apparently studying the ground. “What will we do now?”

“I suppose… we will accept a new position.”

“In the company?!”

“No, no, I have plenty of offers from counter groups. In fact I think I know which one I want to go with.” Lewis shrugged out of my lose grip, turning to face me. He smiled, and in that smile I knew that I had managed to convince the young man to my side.

“What do you think we will be doing?"

Lewis’s POV

[Six Months Later]

I quickly turned the corner, running full speed. The creature was gaining on me. I fumbled with the clip, trying to reload the empty Magnum gripped in my hand. I caught a movement from the corner of my eye, dropping to the ground as the thing lunged at me. It missed by inches, before gripping into the wall a few feet down the hall. My heart was hammering, I could feel the sweat slicking my skin. There had been no mention of these things in the report. I leveled the gun with its blood stained maw. The Magnum kicked powerfully, the bullet slamming into infected flesh in a shower of gore.

I threw myself forward, going into a roll as the thing leapt at me again. I quickly pushed onto my feet, preparing to sprint the rest of the way to my partner. Something hot and elastic stuck my shin, bringing me face down on the ground. I rolled, bringing the gun with my line of sight. I could only freeze, as the long barbed tongue of the monster shot towards me.

It never struck. Lazaries stood one hand gripping, the twisting slimy appendage. He growled animalisticly, jerking the beast forward by the tongue. Catching it by the back of the neck, he used the momentum to throw the monster. It tumbled down the hall, coming to a stop splayed against the window. Lazareis pulled the shotgun from its sling on his back, he only had to fire once. The shot ripped into the monsters head, launching it out the window and eight stories to the ground.

“Lewis love, pick up is in five. Let’s get to the roof.” He offered me a hand, a wide smile on his blood smeared face (not that I looked much better). I grabbed his hand, returning his smile and letting him pull me easily to my feet.

“Let’s get out of here, I’ve had enough excitement for today.”

…………………

It was always the most quit right after a job was finished. After the filth was washed away, vaccinations were updated, weapons were checked in, papers were filled, and Lazaries had a snack; that was the best time. We were lying on the couch; he was propped against its arm, I was resting against his chest.

“Lewis? Dose it bother you I call you my mate, instead of my lover?” He was stroking my hair, not paying any attention to the Television playing in the back ground.”

“Not as long as I get to call you my Monster.” I said shifting to look at him.

“As long as I am your Favorite Monster.” We both sat in silence for a moment, then laughed in unison. The entire ideal of us together is still insane to me, I think it always will be. But as long as he lives, Lazaries will always be my favorite monster.
