Shooting Stars

Chapter 2: Shooting Stars

It was around 9 at night. Ventus had tried to go to sleep, but found he couldn't. He looked around his room, filled with things he had gathered over the past year, since he had been here training. He had only been training with Terra and Aqua for a year, but felt as if he knew them for an entire lifetime. Ventus sighed, looking out the window. Then, something caught his eye. Stars in the distance were falling from the sky!

"A meteor shower! Cool!" he yelled. Ventus jumped off of his bed, and grabbed his Keyblade sitting next to the bed. It was HIS Keyblade, Wayward Wind. It was his first official Keyblade. He had the hand-me-down one that Terra had given to him, in his "initiation." Terra had laughed at him when he first saw him hold his Keyblade. He said it was "weird" how he held hit backwards. But, Aqua had stated that "whatever worked for Ven was fine for his training." Master Eraqus agreeded on it, and scolded Terra.

Terra treated Ventus like a little brother. Sure, Ven was only 15, but he was practically an adult. He wasn't a kid anymore! Ventus sprinted down the stairs from the residence down to the courtyard. He looked around frustrated and groaned.

"Dammit. I can't see much from here. I need to go to the summit."

Heading around to the side, he ran up the hill, through the grass to the summit. Ven stopped and looked at the training area. He had better things to do. But... Minutes later, Ven sheathed his Keyblade. It never hurt to train and try new moves sometimes.

"Oh crap, what am I doing!? I'm gonna miss the meteor shower!"

Ventus darted up to the summit, and looked, sitting down. He stared up at the sky watching the stars go by. The wind blew, making him shiver slightly. He should have brought something to keep him warm out here, mentally cursing at himself for his stupidity.

"Mmm... Why does this all seem so familiar?"

Ventus yawned, and let his eyes close to relax. Before he knew it, he had fallen asleep. Suddenly, he was near an ocean. Stars were all above him. Off in the distance, he could hear the waves. He thought that he could see it... An island... Then, he woke up.
