Duel Of Love

Well this is my first MMX fan fiction I hope you like it and for the record if you see (rrrr) in the character dialog then that means that the characters are thinking.

As the highways of able city shook from the force of three Adion Hover bike racing at top speed with three of able city’s top ranked maverick hunters at the Driver’s seat. Mega Man X leader of the 17th Elite Unit, Zero Omega leader of the Special 0 Unit (Shinobi) and Axl a new hunter however his skills and shape shifter abilities rose him through the ranks quickly and put in the same rank as X & Zero. Each hunter had a different express locked on his face. X had a look of determination on his while Axl had showed signs of dread on his and then there was Zero who had a combination of both on his. This mission was more important to him than it was to the others not only were they about to face off against their old foes the X-Hunters who some how returned but the stakes were much higher for Zero seeing Agile The X-Hunter who challenged Zero. Is using Iris as bait to force him to come and fight him.

X: I can’t believe it I never thought that we would see those monsters again !!!

Axl: I read about the X-Hunters from the file back at hunter HQ I thought you and Zero destroyed them ?

X: I thought so too it’s been years since I last fought them how did they come back

Axl: what do you make of this Zero

Zero: ……..

X: Zero are you okay bro….. ?

Axl: Z what’s wrong bro….. ?

{Flash Back}

Zero: Iris wait please ?

Iris: No Zero there is nothing you can say to justify your actions !!!

Zero: actions but your brother is.

Iris: this isn’t about him this is about you.

Zero Me !?

Iris: all I wanted was to live in world where only reploids exist and maybe that dream was never meant to come
true but that still justify what you’ve done.

Iris: you and the other hunters wrongfully branded Repliforce as mavericks and blamed Sky Lagoon attack on us when it was one of your hunters who was the cause of what happened

Zero: but

Iris: But nothing the maverick hunters started that war the general had no intention of ever harming humans all he wanted was to create a place for all reploids to live in peace. Repliforce had no intention of starting a war but you and the maverick hunters came after us you through the first punch when labeled Repliforce mavericks !!!

Zero: …..

Iris: when I tried you convince you not to fight my brother you went against my pleas and fought him any way and killed him. Cried Iris

Zero: but Dr. Cain

Iris: Dr. Cain may have revived him but that doesn’t make up for the pain you caused me .

Zero: I’m Sorry

Iris: no Zero ever since I met you I thought that there was more to you than what people say that all you care is fighting and nothing else.

Iris: but no I see that I was wrong fighting is all you care about whether your right or wrong that’s all you care for.

Zero: That’s not true !

Iris: yes it is !!!

Iris: you already proved it because of your actions your love of fighting I lost many friends because of that and I temporally lost my brother and my sanity, sigma may have been the one who cause every thing but you and the other hunters let yourselves become his puppet and destroy Repliforce on his behalf your just as much to blame as he is.

Iris: I’m sorry zero but as long as you fight there is no place for me in your life.

Zero: Iris wait don’t go !!!

Iris: no I don’t want to have any thing to do with this war any more and as long as you choose to fight I can’t be with you ether.

Iris: I’m sorry but good bye forever Zero Omega. Cried iris as she ran away.

{Flash Back Ends}

X: Zero !!!

Axl: Zero!!!

X &Axl: ZERO !!!!!!

Zero: huh !!! what do you guys way !?

Axl: you spaced out for a sec.

X: you okay

Zero: I’m fine guys don’t worry

X: it’s Iris isn’t it

Zero: yeah it been years since I’ve seen her and I know she still hasn’t forgiven me.

Axl: you want someone else to take this mission

Zero: No regardless of what had happened in the past Agile challenged me and it was her brother who asked me to save her and I will save her.

Alia: X Zero Axl it’s Me can you hear me in you communicators okay.

X: We hear you what’s up ?

Alia: you guys are coming up on the intersections that will take you to where each X-hunter is.

Alia: X the left road will take to the beach where Serges is waiting

X: Rodger

Alia: Axl take the right road it will lead you to the forest area where Violen is waiting

Axl: Rodger that

Alia: & Zero the center road to the mountains and Agile

Zero: Rodger Alia (& Iris)

30 Minutes Later …

After separating from his teammates Zero arrived at the base of the mountain he surveyed the area to find no one was there. As Zero continues his search until he came across a message carved into the side of the mountain by a saber.

Zero: Dear Zero you know the hardest thing about being a powerful warrior like ourselves is the HIGHER YOU CLIMB the harder you fall. Agile

Zero: (their on the top of the mountain !!!) thought Zero as he began to race up the mountain at top speed.

As Zero raced at top speed he activated his Emergency Acceleration System or Dash system to get to the top faster. As he reached the peak he leaped the rest of the way landing in a barren mountain valley. As Zero search the opened area he was disgusted by what he had seen the whole area had be burned to the ground which only fueled his rage more.

Zero: Agile I know you’re here come on out you sick bastard.!!! Yelled zero at the top of his lungs

Agile: my my Zero it’s been a while replied the purple Maverick coming out of shadows.

Zero: how did you come back ? X & I destroyed you and the others.

Agile: ha all you did was destroy our bodies not mind we had a contingency plan we had second bodies hidden away in the event first bodies were to be destroyed our consciousness would transfer to our second ones.

Zero: so why didn’t you come back ?

Agile: we decided to bide our time and grow in strength before getting our revenge Zero.

Agile: I the hope you like what I did to this place I felt that the trees would get in the way so I took care of that hahaha.

Zero: enough of this where is she.

Agile: she’s right over there pointed Agile to the far end of the valley to a ledge in which a capsule with Iris was in standing there.

Zero: What have you done to her !?

Agile: nothing She is conscious the capsule allows her to see and hear everything we say or do even from a distance.

Agile: I must say after I left her brother half dead I thought that would have wised up and not show even if I used her as bait but still you showed I guess some fools need to learn the hard way. Jeered Agile as he took his saber out

Zero:(no there more to why he brought me to this place I Know it). Thought Zero as he pulled his Z-Saber from it’s sheath.

Zero: Enough talk time we end this let’s do it maverick !!! Charged Zero

Agile: Lets !!!

Iris (Zero)

As Zero & Agile charged at each other swinging their sabers at each other the ground of which their battle was taking place on began to shake each time their sabers clashed. The share force repelled both warriors backward Zero immediately mange to stop himself but Agile was being pushed right into a wall. Agile gasped using all strength to stop himself he came to close the wall behind before he leaped to a safe distance. Which made Zero wonder who was watching him

Zero: (some thing is wrong here why is he being so careful not to touch that wall only one way to find out) thought the crimson hunter as he charged Agile force him backwards into another wall.
The force of the battle made the whole area shake and tremble, even the ground in which Iris’ capsule was stand.

As Zero attempted a roundhouse kick Agile leaped out of the way cause him to strike the wall behind him behind. The moment Zero’s foot touched the rock a large explosion coming from the side of the mountain the force caused the valley to shake and tremble. Zero who was caught off guard from what happened turn around to see a snickering Agile ready to continue.

Zero: (what the hell was that did he set up traps around here, shit this is putting Iris in more danger one false move and she might… wait that’s it !!!!) thought Zero as he leaped at Agile he now understood fully why he kidnapped Iris.

Zero: you think your really clever Maverick !!!

Agile: ????

Zero: Now I see why you brought her into this, you set up traps and triggers all through the mountain one false move and I might activate one of your damn close by me or iris !!!! Yelled Zero as he tried to slash his opponent.

Agile: Well Well I’m impressed master Sigma always said your detective skills were impressive. Using his saber to block his attack.

Agile: Yes I’ve hidden plasma mines and ultra sensitive trigger all over the mountain the more interesting part is the mine all have different levels power some have enough for small, mild, and large not mention I have the master switch that will set them all off at once that can causing this whole mountain to come down. Showing Zero a button on the bottom of his saber.

Agile: so blast your want to me to blast your girl friend off the edge I suggest put that saber away and DIE !!! Yelled the purple Maverick charged

Now that Zero you on to his tricks Agile saw no point in holding back any more as he charged Zero swing his saber ferociously at him. Knowing that for the time being he had to stay on the defensive Zero barely managed to dodge and block most of attacks while some left cut on his arms ands leg as he tried to stay out of striking distance of Agile saber. Agile attacks were the second on his mind the first was that now that Agile wasn’t holding back he intentionally setting off small explosions with every step he took since he knew where the trigger were he knew where to step and what trigger set’s off what mine. Luckily non of the explosion were near Iris however they were getting closer and it was a matter of time before he decides the hit the one that will blast her off the mountain knowing this Zero had to work fast before it was to late .

Zero:(Damn now he’s causing the explosion and their’s getting closer her) thought Zero as he narrowly missed losing his head

Zero:(wait if I can’t hit him on the ground maybe from the air). Thought Zero as leaped backwards as hard as he could into the air.

Agile: your not getting away that easily hunter !!! Yelled Agile following him.

Zero:(Knew he’d take the bait !!!) take this Agile you maverick scum Crescent-moon Slash !!!! Yelled Zero as he unleashed a crescent-shaped energy blast as he swung his saber straight at Agile.

Agile: o yeah right back at you piece of hunter trash !!! Yelled Agile performing the same attack

Both energy blast barely missed each other and were heading straight to their targets with no way to get away both prepared themselves for the impact of the blast.

Zero & Agile: AAAAAh!!!! Both yelled as they were both his by the other’s attack sending them falling to the ground

As Zero hit the ground he landed right next to an uncovered mine that went unnoticed as he tried to rise up. Agile was sent crashing into a wall began writhing in pain and anger from Zero attack. As both Zero & Agile attempted to get up the both triggered the switches to the mines that were near them. Both heard the sound of the mine about to go off but did not have the strength to get away in time. A bright light coupled with a large explosion fill the valley by an unfortunate twist of fait the mines the activated contained enough power to cripple a giant Mechaniloid led alone seriously injure a Reploid. The blast was so bright at first that Iris could barley see however when it dimmed a little she was able to make out much to her dismay the seemingly lifeless body of Zero flying though the air and landing in in the center of the devastated valley with Agile landing 15yards away from where Zero landed. The first thought that ran through her mind was that they were dead but that was quickly dispelled when her holding capsule allowed her to hear but their grunts of pain as the desperately tried to rise up.

As both fighters managed barely to get to their feet it was obvious that the attacks and being hit at point blank range by a plasma mine had it’s took their tolls on their bodies as they began to bleed from their sides and spit up blood. The sight of this had brought Iris to tears seeing Zero put his life on the line like this for her after all what happened between them was more than she could stand to watch. Knowing that he was about to reach his limit Zero knew that he had to end this one last strike.

Zero: I’ve had enough of this I’m ending this now !!! Forcing what energy he had left in to the Z-Sabers’ blade while trying to

Agile: Ha I was about to say the same thing !!! Yelled the half dead maverick doing the same.

As the warriors charged each other Iris watch in horror as they were seconds from colliding. A bright flash was all she could see as they gave each other one final strike. By the time the flash disappeared and she was able to see she saw barely Zero standing while Agile was laying in the ground dead. As Zero limped over to her capsule Iris’ emotions were spilt down the middle she was happy that he won but afraid because she did not know what she could say to him after every thing happened today what could she say to him. Before she had a chance to contemplate what she could say Zero was already at her capsule forcing it opened.

Zero: Ir…is ar…are you ok ? Stuttered Zero wincing in pain from his wounds

Iris: Zero I ……….

Before Iris could say any thing else she noticed Agile limping after them with hate, anger and pain in his eyes. As he limped over to them his right arm fell completely off however he was so determined to fight Zero he did not notice. Zero positioned Iris behind him as he readied his saber for anything he might try.

Zero: Come back for more ?

Agile: Why? Why can’t I defeat you !?

Zero: Simple you have nothing to fight for that’s Why.

Agile: WHAT !!!!!!?

Zero: I fight for peace for both Human & Reploids , I Fight the people I care about & believe in that is my drive my reason for fighting and as long I fight for those reason I will never be defeated neither will the Maverick Hunters.

Zero: Scum like you fight for the joy of fighting that weakens you why you were doom to loose from the start.

Agile: Damn you hunter I may have lost but I’m going to make sure I’m not the only one losses today. Said the dying maverick with a smirk as he pressed the button on his saber.

As soon as Agile pressed the buttonn he explode setting off a chain reaction of mines set around the mountain to explode cause the mountain to fall along with Zero & Iris. Knowing he had to do something quickly Zero radioed Alia for one last effort to save Iris

Zero: Alia come in can you hear me !!!

Alia: yes what’s happening !!!

Zero: the mountain is falling I need you to lock on to our location teleport us NOW !!!

Alia: I can only teleport one at a time !!!!

Zero: The teleport Iris Now

Alia: what about you !!!!?

Zero: That’s not important just do it hurry !!!!

Alia: ok TRANSFER in 3.2.1

Iris: Zero I lo…. Was all she could say before she teleported

Zero: I love you too Iris said Zero as he continued to fall.
