Saria's Story
Saria’s Story. (PG)
TBone Tony
I was just a Kokiri girl and he was just Hyrulian boy.
Even though we were friends for so long, our hearts were not meant to be.
It all started like any other day, I would jump out of my little bed and I would then run out to Link’s house in Kokiri Village to greet my best friend Link each morning.
“Hi Link!” I yelled from a distance away.
“Saria!!!” Link yelled.
Even though he only knew a few words at age 10, he was able to say my name very well.
But today, I noticed that there was something with Link that was new, he had a fairy.
“Oh my goddess!!! YOU HAVE A FAIRY!!!!!” I yelled excitedly.
“She…Navi…Pain in butt!!” Link said.
Navi the fairy then banged Link on his head.
“Hahahahaha!!!!” I laughed.
Even though Link could not talk well and other Kokiri’s don’t understand what he is saying, his words can make me giggle like a little girl that I am.
“Link…you must go to the Great Deku Tree. He is dying and he needs your help.” Shouts Navi.
Suddenly a shock went though my body as Navi mentioned that the Great Deku Tree was in trouble.
“Oh no…Link we got to go to the Great Deku Tree, he is the father of our forest.” I suggested immediately.
Even though I was proud of Link finally having a fairy, it seemed that Link had Navi for a more important reason.
Before Link could go to the Deku Tree, I suggested that he should have the Kokiri Sword and the Deku Shield for protection, I also brought a Deku stick from the Kokiri shop so I could use it as a weapon to help Link.
As we both went to see the Great Deku Tree, Link and I realised that large spiders called Skulltulas had infected the Great Deku Tree.
So we were there to try and flush them all out.
“Link…I don’t like the look of this…” I gasped as I saw the horror inside the Great Deku Tree.
It was awful with sticky silky webs everywhere.
But I tried not to let all the webs or even the Skulltulas scare me as Link was there beside me and I felt that he gives me the bravery to face my own nightmares as long as he is near me.
But suddenly…
“Yeeaahhhh!!!!!” Link yelled as he swiped his Kokiri sword into the darkness, there was a loud noise and a little creepy Skulltula fell before his knees.
It was only a small one, until the other ones came.
“Saria, Sei…DAHHHH!!!!” Link shouted letting me know there was danger around.
But his warning was no use as I did not realise that there was a Skulltulas right behind me until…
“AAIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!” I screamed as I was dragged down a hole and then there was darkness.
When I woke up, I could not move my arms.
“Ugh…where am I?” I said to myself.
But I wished that I had not asked because a light of fire came on from a lit torch and I saw around myself that I was stuck in a large spider/Skulltula web.
Also my body was cocooned from my feet up to my shoulders leaving only my head and neck exposed.
And all around me were all these spidery Skulltulas, all of them were around me and I tried to wiggle but my body was stuck inside the cocoon wrapped around me. I could not move, could not escape.
Suddenly a large creepy monster that was a Gohma came towards me.
I heard that the Gohma was the mother of all these spider looking Skulltulas and I stared in horror as its large Parasitic Armored Arachnid body came towards me and it’s large eye stared towards my body wrapped in the cocoon.
“LINK!!!! HELP!!!!!” I screamed franticly.
“SARIAAAAA, ZEYAAHHHHH!!!!!!” Came a loud noise from above me.
It was Link, he shot the Gohma in the eye with his newly found sling shot and he cut the webbing around me and my body fell into his arms still wrapped tightly in my cocoon I was trapped in.
Later after Link bravely fought and killed the queen Gohma, all the Skulltulas quickly disappeared and the Deku Tree was safe.
Or so we thought…
Afterwards Link slashed me out of my cocoon, I could finally move my arms and legs again, plus my stomach was able to breathe easy again as the cocoon was really tight against my stomach earlier making it very hard for me to breathe before Link cut me loose.
“Thanks for saving my life Link, I thought I was going to die before.” I said.
Link did not say anything, instead he looked at me with a smile and he placed his arms around me. I could felt my chest touch Link’s strong young chest though our tunics as we both hugged deeply like innocent Kokiri children always did in the forest.
Link and I then made our way out of the Great Deku Tree, Link’s fairy Navi then flew up to the father of our forest to tell him about how Link bravely saved my life and how he killed the queen Gohma that was responsible for his sickness. But then came the horrible news that even though we killed Gohma and got rid of all the Skulltulas, it was not enough to save the Great Deku Tree.
But before he died, the Great Deku Tree told Link that there was this strange man that came to this forest searching for the Kokiri Emerald and since the Great Deku Tree could not give it to this man, the stranger then placed a curse on the Great Deku Tree causing the outbreak of spidery creatures inside the Deku Tree.
Even though he was going to die, there was still hope as the Great Deku Tree then gave Link the Kokiri Emerald, he then said that if Link could also gather the two other Sacred Stones of the Goddesses then he would be able to defeat the man that placed the curse on our father of the forest, but that would also mean that Link would have to leave the Kokiri forest forever.
After the Great Deku Tree died, all the Kokiri children wanted to know what happened to our father of the forest, When I told them that our father the Great Deku Tree was dead, they all blamed Link and I was powerless to stop their angry mob of Kokiri children as they tried to kick and spit on poor Link.
I had not even told them how Link had saved my life.
After the incident with the Kokiri Children, I found Link on the wooden bridge heading out of Kokiri forest.
He looked at me with tears in his eyes, Link had never been outside of the forest before and no Kokiri had ever ventured into the land of Hyrule beyond the forest.
But I knew in my heart that he had to do it. Link had to see the Princess of Hyrule in her castle and tell her what happened to the Great Deku Tree and find a way to stop that evil man that was responsible for the Great Deku Tree’s death.
But before Link was about to run off, I gave him my secret treasure, my fairy ocarina that I made just for him yesterday.
“I knew that you were different from all the other Kokiri, you were destined to leave this forest.” I said softly.
“Saria…oh…wwaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!” Link began to cry.
I hugged Link deeply in my arms as his tears fell onto my shirt. He did not want to leave without me, but I can’t leave the forest because I would die if I did.
Link was never a Kokiri, he was a Hyrulian boy that I had found as a baby, I told him about this as I hugged him in my arms explaining that I was only very young when I had found his little baby body laying within the leaves just inside the boundary of the Kokiri forest, I then took him to the Great Deku Tree where he told me that I should keep Link’s true identity a secret from all the other Kokiri children for they would never understand why Link never had a fairy before, because he was not born like a real Kokiri child was.
But I stayed with Link as a friend and I still was his friend, and he was my best friend too as I had never met a boy like Link before.
After I told Link how I felt about him, I gasped as he then leaned his lips towards me and kissed my lips with his.
A strange feeling then went though my entire body as this was my very first kiss in my life, normally Kokiri children would not kiss but Link was the first one to kiss me, he is the only one to kiss me as he was not a real Kokiri.
But I stayed in his arms wrapped around my body and we shared our last moments together kissing before he then left the Kokiri forest forever.
To Be Continued…
Saria’s Story Part 2 (PG 13+)

Note: Some events might be scary for young children to read.
I never thought that Link would ever come back after he first left the Kokiri forest to start on his adventure, but just a few days later…he returned.
I was just sitting in my favourite place in the lost woods, near the Forest Temple.
This was my special place that I had found when I was in the Lost Woods one day.
When Link became my best friend over the years, I let him walk with me so I would show him this place.
We had so much fun back then.
But now, I was all alone and no Link as he was away on his adventure, so the only thing I did know was to play my old Ocarina to myself and I keep on playing it just so I could reminisce about the memories that I had with Link when he was still around.
Suddenly I heard footsteps coming from within the forest walls between the trees of the lost woods, I did not fear because I knew who it was.
“Link…” I shouted happily.
“Saria…” Link shouted back.
We ran to each other and we both embraced into a deep hug until we both fell to the ground in each other’s arms.
Tears were in my eyes as I was so happy to see Link again and as we hugged, I kissed him and he kissed me back. We were just so thankful to see each other again.
Later that night we had a small night of slumber together…it was like those times that we used to share.
Back then the other Kokiri used to annoy Link and tease him because he was so different and so we used this sacred place in the Lost Woods to just simply escape from life, and to simply be with each other…
“Link…” I said has he held me in his arms in a loving friendship embrace.
“Huh???” Link moaned with is sleepy eyes closing next to me.
“Promise me something…when ever you want to chat to me on your adventure, play this song…” I said just before he fell to sleep with me.
I whispered to him our song, it was a like my favourite childhood song that I only shared with him when he was a baby...It was happy and full of upbeat feelings…
“Do do dooo, do do dooo, do do do dooo doooo….”
As he slept next to me, I realised that this special childhood slumber that we shared together was going to be the last time in our childhood forms, I did not know exactly why I felt this but something within my own heart knew that Link was not going to be in this child like form as I once knew him to be…
His body was going to change…
Since he was not really a Kokiri, I felt something within myself as I felt something between his legs rise and touch me between my green shorts between our clothes as we slept…
He was no ordinary Kokiri as many Kokiri’s never felt this way as I was starting to feel between Link and I…
His face was so close to me and I could feel his breath breathe harder against my skin and without thinking, or perhaps the wrong type of thinking for a Kokiri girl like me to make, my lips touched Link’s and suddenly I felt a huge burst of light touch my body and I felt the changes that were starting to happen to Link’s body start to effect mine…
Our kiss while innocently sleeping together lasted forever and when morning came…Link was gone.
I did not have to worry because when Link played my song that I sang to him that night,
Even though he only talked in grunts and yells, he was able to use different words like Zelda, Ruto, Gorons and other words and I knew in some way what he was able to say and I told him about what I knew about the world of Hyrule.
I hoped that I had helped him in some way to try and defeat that man who killed our great Deku Tree, the father of our forest.
But one day, Link suddenly disappeared from the face of Hyrule.
I tried to contact him though my Ocarina but it was no good.
A year or so past since I last heard of Link and slowly I felt that the Kokiri forest was changing for the worst, at the same time I felt that my body was changing as well, but I did not realise what was happening to me until some time later when I found out about why my body was changing. But that moment had not happened yet.
But first, I felt that inside the forest temple was changing for the worst and with Link gone, I have to find out what was going on by myself…
As I went inside the lost woods and into the sacred Forest Temple near where Link and I last spent out night of slumber together, my thoughts were with Link and how I wished that he was here so I would not be afraid of being here…this place has chanced since a year had already gone and this place was starting to become scary.
As I entered the forest temple, a pair of wolfs attacked me.
But I was able to defend myself well with my Kokiri stick and I quickly dodged their ferocious paws and just scraped inside the temple.
Next was one of those spider Skulltulas, but once again I quickly used my Kokiri stick and stabbed it in its belly.
There was no way I was going to be trapped in its cocoon like I was when I was inside the Deku Tree.
It was so dark in the temple, I could hardly see the 4 coloured torches…red, blue, green and purple…
Wait, these are not torches????
“AAIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!” I screamed.
I ran out to the next door as those torches turned into frightening ghosts and disappeared…
OK now THAT was scary…
I found myself in a large forest garden place…It was like that the lost woods was a part of this forest temple because vines were all around the walls outside and I am sure that if the vines were not here, the complete temple would have fallen down.
But for a change, this outside garden area in the forest temple was calm, peaceful, and did not look scary at all.
“I guess I could wait for Link here.” I said to myself.
It was not like I could go back, with the ghosts, the wolfs and who goddess knows what else might be in this scary temple, also the Kokiri forest has been overran by many other monsters and the Kokiri children are too scared to go outside…that was why I had came here in the first place because I knew in my own heart that if Link was here, he would never run and hide in his Tree house, he would try to do something about this and with Link gone and no where for me to contact him from, I felt that I was the only other person on this forest that could save the Kokiri children.
I sat down and played my Ocarina, it was the only thing that I could do to make me think about Link, hoping that he would come, hoping that I could gather enough courage to face the forest temple on my own if he could not come to be with me.
As I played my fairy Ocarina, I closed my eyes and I suddenly felt like my body had got warmer as I felt Link wrap his arms around me behind my back.
Was I dreaming, was I dreaming of Link as I played my Ocarina?
My eyes opened and I realised that I was not dreaming, but instead of Link’s arms wrapping around me, it was two strong vines that had wrapped around my small body and I screamed as I realised what was going on.
“AAIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!!!”
I tried to move but the two vines had wrapped around my chest trapping my arms to my sides as I held onto my Ocarina tightly not letting it go.
“ugh…can’t…move…so…tight…” I tried to breathe but the vines tighten around me and more came around by hips and around my legs.
Suddenly by body was wrapped in thick vines and I felt it begin to pull up and I was trying to stand up quickly but the vines around my legs were so tight that I could not run or even grip my feet to the ground as the vines lifted me from the ground and up into the air.
“Noooo…let me go…let me go…” I yelled.
I fought against the vines mid air but when I looked down and saw where the vines were taking me…my heart sank as I realised that the vines were dragging me towards a large hungry Deku Baba Plant.
“AAIIIIIEEEEEE...LINK!!!! WHERE ARE YOU???????” I shrieked in horror as I realised that I was going to be eaten.
The large Deku Baba Plant lifted me over its gaping maw and then suddenly the vines let go and I quickly dropped into the mouth of the Deku Baba plant and suddenly everything went dark.
I woke up and I quickly realised that I was inside the stomach of the large Deku Baba Plant…it was so dark and wet that I could not move…
I looked to see both of my arms tied back above my head with thick long vines that were like long green tentacles of some sort of an Octorok creature. My legs were tied up in the long green vines inside the plant’s stomach too and they had my legs spread apart so I could not move an inch to wiggle.
I was totally bounded and trapped at all sides from the tentacle vines inside the large Deku Baba plant.
I felt something slimy fall its way down my face and also on my hands flowing down my arms.
“Yeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!” I yelled as I felt a strong burning sensation in my hands, it was my Fairy Ocarina that I was still holding onto even as I was eaten by the Deku Baba plant.
I dropped my Fairy Ocarina to the soft floor of the stomach and immediately it fell apart in the slime-covered floor.
“Noooo…soon I am going to die like that…” I whispered. “AAIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!”
I screamed as I felt the slime falling all around my body start to burn me…it was hurting me so badly…no…the slime was not burning my skin, the slime was burning my Kokiri clothes.
I looked down and stared in horror as my Kokiri clothes melted off me as the thick clear green slime covered them and the slime ate the cloth and material from my Kokiri clothes breaking down everything from my Kokiri shirt to my short Kokiri shorts…and other parts of my clothing that I was too embarrassed to show to the other Kokiri kids.
“Noooo…oh noooo…my Kokiri clothes are ruined…” I sobbed as my clothes were melting off me.
Even my Kokiri boots were long gone before more slime covered my feet and my entire legs in clear green milky slime…
With nothing left to cover me, more slime covered my skin and then there was a sudden emergence of slimy tentacle vines that came out of the plant slime around me.
“No…please oh goddess no…” I whimpered knowing what was going to come next.
With vines already holding my arms and legs, I was defenceless as more and more tentacle vines wrapped themselves around me, all the way around my arms and up my legs, around by bare stomach and even wrapping around my chest.
One of the tentacle vines that was behind a wall of slime covered stomach cushion emerged and wrapped itself twice around my neck and also across my face covering my mouth to mute my screams.
“Uuuggghhhh…mmmmmppphhhhhh!!!!!” I screamed as the vine slipped itself over my mouth to gag my voice.
I tried to bite it and turn my head but the coils of the vine wrapped tightly twice around my neck began to constrict me and I let go of the vine gagging my mouth knowing that it could kill me at any moment if I tried to fight it…
I was so scared…I felt so helpless…I was trapped and my Kokiri clothes had all melted within the slime of this plants stomach and there was no Link to save me…
I closed my eyes and cried and as tears fell from my eyes I felt the vines all around me slowly tightening their grip around my chest and stomach. They were slowly hurting me as I drifted off into a deep sleep wondering where was Link? Why is he not here to save Hyrule, to save the Kokiri children and even why is he not here to save me?
“Saria…Saria…wake up…”
I opened my eyes to a soft and warm feminine voice…
“Ugh…where am I?” I moaned out loud.
The first thing I saw was a beautiful woman in a bright green dress. She looked really beautiful.
I looked around myself and saw lovely blue water all around me, 6 coloured stones were around the area I was in and I was standing on the green stone pillar.
“You are in the chamber of Sages...Saria…you have been chosen by the Goddesses of Hyrule to be a sage for the Hero of Time…” said the woman.
I looked at her in disbelief.
“Sage…me???? How can that be? Last time I remember is that I was being eaten by a large Deku Baba plant and I was dying…” I whispered to the woman. “How am I still alive?”
The woman pointed down at me and as I looked down, I was shocked to realise that my own body had changed.
“Ugh…oh my Goddess…what has happened to me?” I gasped.
I was surprised to realise that two mounds had grown on my chest and also there was something strange growing down there between where my stomach was and my hips that joined to my legs…between there was something that I was so embarrassed to explain but it was a large surprise to me no matter how small it was.
“Saria, you have aged 7 years, well it is close to 7 years. And also because you have aged, your body has changed.” Said the woman with the beautiful green dress.
“No…7 years…why am I still alive then, shouldn’t I have been eaten and digested by now?” I asked.
“Saria please listen. I am the goddess Farore and I have given you the powers of the sage of the forest to keep you alive, and to give you a role to help Link, the Hero of Time, help him save Hyrule from the evil that has plagued this land.” Farore finally given me her name to me and for the first time I realised that she was talking about Link.
“You mean that Link is the Hero of Time?” I asked.
Farore went on to tell me about my role in Link’s adventure, and also about the reason why I had aged.
It was true that a Kokiri girl like me should not have aged because we never age beyond the age of 12, but because of Link and the love that he showed me by kissing me and spending that special childhood slumber together, it somehow slowly changed my body and gave me the power to grow older.
But I had not realised that until now.
Also Farore told me that I was still trapped inside the large Deku Baba plant and the plant was slowly trying to digest me, but because of Farore’s power to keep my body alive for 7 years and also because of the sage powers that are now inside me, I was still alive but when I wake up, I will be on my own.
Evil will try to steal my sage powers and if they do, I would be killed, but I will just have to keep up my strength to stay alive and not let evil steal my sage power away or else I would die without the power of being a sage.
Farore told me everything that was going to happen, Link would awaken from the Temple of Time soon any day now and I will have to hold on until he eventually comes to save me.
Hearing about this really lifted my spirits but as soon as I felt pain starting to return to my body, I realised that Farore’s powers to try and keep me alive were fading fast and I needed to know how to hold onto my sage powers and not let the powers of darkness take my sage powers away…
“Saria, good luck, my powers can’t keep you alive any longer that what I have done for you, you have to hold on for now on but what I have told you might be enough to keep you in there, may the Hero of Time save you soon, till then, hang on Saria…”
With my soul and awareness fading out of the Chamber of Sages and slowly beginning to sink deep under the surface of the earth where my real body is being drained by the Deku Baba plant, I realised what Farore had given me, a chance to hang on and live, and if I lived to see Link’s face again, as least all of this pain and suffering of the past 7 years would have been worth it…
My eyes opened and I was still trapped deep inside the Deku Baba plant’s stomach.
But my body had grown older and therefore more of those tentacle vines had new places to wrap around and squeeze me tighter.
“Uuuggghhhh!!!!!” I screamed as the vines tighten around my chest in the areas that had grown over the past 7 years.
These past 7 years seemed like only seconds to me and that was why I was not expecting the tightness of the vines around me.
“Link…please come soon…I’m hanging in there…” I whispered softly.
More and more vines were coming down in the plant’s stomach to put more of the crushing pressure on my body…now I was completely cocooned by the vines and as I tried to breathe, the vines moved up and down the movements of my belly heaving from the pressure on top of me.
I waited and waited for longer and longer…
It was getting hot…really hot inside this plant.
I felt like this plant was trying to boil me alive with all of the digestive slime burning my skin and the vines tightening around me making everything all hot and sweaty. There was hardly any air inside here yet the sage powers that the goddess Farore gave me still kept me alive…But I was wondering how long do I have to keep up and not let the tentacle vines take me too far with their squeezing pressure around me.
“Link…help…I am not sure how long I am going to last…” I whimpered.
Then suddenly, a dark figure emerged from the digestive slime all around me, then the tentacle vines moved to expose my bare belly to the figure that was emerging from the slime.
I looked down and saw my belly shine bright green but to my horror, the dark figure and the movement of the vines around me did not seem too promising.
“Who are you??? And what are you going to do to me???” I whispered afraid of the answer that was to follow.
“I am Phantom Ganon 2, my original Phantom is busy taking care of that Hero of Time…” said the tall dark figure.
When I heard the words, ‘Hero of Time’, my heart lifted a beet knowing that Link was finally here coming to save me.
“Link!!!” I whispered.
The dark Phantom Ganon 2 lowered his right hand towards my bare belly as the vines openly drew his power towards my heaving tummy.
“Now that I sense that the Goddesses have given you the powers of the Sage of the Forest, I am going to take that power from you and you will die, before your hero defeats my original Phantom that I was a copy from.
My eyes opened wide in pain as I felt the hand of Phantom Ganon 2 touch my tummy and he pushed his fingers into my stomach trying to obtain my sage power.
“Uuuggghhhh!!!! Noooo!!!!” I screamed.
The pain was so intense, I felt that Phantom Ganon’s hand was inside my belly trying to pull my sage powers right out of me, I felt his dark vines wrap themselves tighter all around me tightening…tightening…I could to breathe or scream out Links name to help me…
I desperately tried to scream out of Link and let him know that I was going to die if he did not save me now…but my voice was muted as more and more vines wrapped themselves tighter around me that they also wrapped around my face stopping me from screaming.
Nooo…I felt my heart being compressed…squeezed…I felt my sage power being sucked out of me and being ripped from my soul…
I tried to hang on…I tried…but with no way of fighting back I could not do anything as this dark man was literally tearing my soul in half.
My heartbeats grew louder…louder…I felt that my lungs were going to burst if I did not get any air and I felt like I was quickly dying…there was nothing that I could do…
With my life flashing before my eyes, there was one person that was still in my mind this whole time when I was going to die…
“LINK!!!!!” I finally screamed…
“SARIA…SARIA!!!!!” echoed a reply…
Link???? Did he hear me???
Suddenly with a burst bright lights…I felt my own sage powers right back against the hark hand of Phantom Ganon 2 and I heard the darkness scream as the dark figure quickly disappeared in front of my in a flash of light.
“LINK!!!!! HELP ME!!!!!” I screamed finally able to breathe again after my heart was almost pulled from my chest.
The tentacle vines lessened and I fell face forward into the awaiting digestive slime to cover me up and dissolve me since I used all of my sage powers to break Phantom Ganon’s hold on my sage powers.
As my body feel deeper and deeper into the green milky plant slime, I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me and lifted me from the slime that was almost going to digest me whole after 7 years of trying to kill me…
As I opened my eyes, I thought I saw Link in the bright blue light.
“Saria…woo…haugh...Saria????”
I opened my eyes...was that Link???
It looked like Link but he was different, his face had matured and also he was a lot bigger than what I thought he was since I last saw him.
“Oh Link…thank you for saving me…” I breathed.
For the first time, it was Link’s arms that were holding my body and even though I had no Kokiri clothes on, I did not feel embarrassed because it was Link who was holding me and not those creepy tentacle vines that had hold my body for the last 7 years being trapped inside that plant…
I closed my eyes and felt the water touch the back of my neck, we were both in the Chamber of Sages and I was laying on the Green pillar on my back with Link holding me in his arms.
“Link…” I whispered.
“Yah? Saria???” Link grunted, even after 7 years, he still had trouble speaking but at least he still remembered my name.
“I will give my sage powers to you to help you on your quest to save Hyrule…” I said.
I leaned my face up to Link’s and I kissed him passionately…Our kiss sent ripples around the Chamber of Sages and as I kissed Link deeply, the horrible reality came to me that when I felt Link’s heart, I felt that there was someone else who had another piece of his heart with them.
But I then sighed as I knew that I was lucky to know Link from when he was growing up as a child, to inspire him to be brave and let him know that he was not the only one as he went out of the Kokiri forest to save Hyrule.
But with his heart, I felt that his heart belonged to other girls other than just me. And even though I was sad because I knew that a Kokiri girl like me was not meant to be with Link forever, at least he would be able to capture other girls hearts just like mine and perhaps they would make Link become a better hero and a better man.
But as the light grew around us both, I hold Link’s lips tightly to mine letting him know that no matter what happens in his adventure, I will always love him.
The End of Saria’s Story.
