The Confession

-----------------------

Link’s thoughts wandered as he and Navi walked around in the tiny dungeon. As a traveling swordsman who was kept busy doing errands for more people than he could keep track of, Link had oftentimes wondered what it would be like to be…ordinary. He sometimes fantasized about what it would be like to live in one of the villages he had come across; to work on a farm or ranch, to find a nice girl, and to get married…

His face reddened at those last two thoughts. Although he didn’t like to admit it to himself, he desperately wanted female companionship. He had been lonely since his childhood, when Mido branded him an outcast among the Kokori, and since then virtually all his time was spent on the road. Link was also naturally a bit withdrawn; strong and silent. This trait, in combination with his need for travel and his fate as a hero, meant that an ordinary life was probably beyond his grasp.

More than once Link had secretly wished that his fairy companion were a Hylian girl. Only she had been with him through thick and thin, and only she knew the same lonely life that he did. They were best friends, and now that they were literally able to see eye to eye, they were naturally drifting closer. Maybe, just maybe they could find happiness together?...

No, he was foolish for even thinking such a thing could happen, and he scolded himself for even having those thoughts about his guide in the first place. He shook those thoughts out of his head and pondered the task at hand—finding shelter for the night.

In previous dungeons they never had to worry a great deal about finding a secluded area away from monsters, but due to Link’s new size, they were forced to seek refuge in nooks and crannies that were out of the reach from even the lesser enemies and predators. Also because of his size, Navi had found that she was able to fly him short distances, and was more than happy to assist him in getting to hard-to-reach places. Lately however, carrying the extra weight was beginning to take a toll on her body due to the frequency with which she assisted him.

Link turned to his partner. “We made a good amount of progress, so why don’t we call it a day?” Gesturing up at the hollow of a tree, he asked, “Think you can get us up there?”

Navi nodded and hooked her arms under his, before kicking off of the ground. Gritting her teeth, she fluttered her wings as hard as she could, ignoring the protests of her aching muscles. Upon flying him up to their destination, she carefully dropped him off before she slumped onto floor of the hollow in fatigue. She was breathing hard, and had broken out in a light sweat.

This did not go unnoticed by Link. He grinned at her apologetically before he sat behind her, surprising her by rubbing her sore back and wing muscles, his touch sending delightful shivers down her spine. Blushing and smiling at his thoughtfulness, she closed her eyes and let a small sigh escape from her lips. Her pulse quickened as her mind began to wander, and she bit back a moan as she imagined those hands caressing the rest of her body.

Unbeknownst to her, the Hero of Time was just as flustered. Link continued to rub Navi’s back, but had to struggle to keep his body from reacting to the lovely girl in front of him. Images of his fairy partner flooded his mind. Had she always been so pretty? True, he had found her lovely as his miniscule companion and would often sneak a fair share of quick glances in her direction, but since shrinking, he had the opportunity to truly admire her, face to face. She smelled nice…a little like the forest trees and the sweat that she worked up. And her skin was so pale and creamy…

Lost in thought, Link absentmindedly began stroking her more tenderly, and his touch drifted lower on her body. By the time he noticed what he was doing, his hands were holding her by the waist, his fingers gently rubbing circles on her stomach and his breath gently tickling the back of her neck.

Her face red, Navi's heart lept in her chest as she noticed the change in his ministrations. Dare she think it? These seemed less like the touches of a concerned companion, and more like those of.....a lover? She turned her head and looked at Link curiously, causing him to withdraw and begin to sputter an apology.

“Navi! I-I’m sorry! I promise it won’t happen agai—”

She cut him off by taking his hand in hers. Her gaze was kind and reassuring, but he could tell that she still wanted an explanation.

Link sighed as he began to explain. “I'm sorry, I'm being selfish. I guess, even though I enjoy your company, sometimes, I…I want more. And you’re so beautiful…it just happened without my thinking about it. Please, don’t leave me…”

Navi felt her heart skip a beat at what he said. Had he called her beautiful? And did he also admit that he touched her (even unconsciously) in search of affection? Her head began to spin as she struggled to keep control of all the romantic tension she had pent up for so long. She came up with a response, and hoped that he would respond favorably.

“Link,” Navi said, her voice quivering with emotion. “You mean so much to me—more than I think you realize.” Her face drifted closer to his. “I’ve been your guide for a long time, and… and now I can be whatever you want. Don’t forget that I’m here to help you. And if it’s loneliness that you need help with, I’d be more than happy to lend a hand,” she finished shyly.

There was an awkward silence as the weight of their confessions sank in. But their hunger for affection soon overcame their nervousness, and they soon found themselves in each other’s arms, each expressing--with kisses instead of words--how much the other meant to them.

-----------------------

Hey guys, reeeaally sorry about the absurdly long time this is taking--laziness, computer troubles, mental constipation, and things of that nature.

Thanks a bunch to everyone that reviewed. I'm glad that people seem to like this.

I'm still working on the next chapter, but I just edited this to make it a little less dangerously cheesy.
