Thank god it was Sunday. Sundays meant he could sleep in till well after noon and that was just what he did. Around 12:24pm Roxas roused to an empty house. Yawning widely, Roxas scratched his stomach when his hand contacted something that was stuck to his skin. Pulling it off his skin Roxas soon realized that it was the piece of paper that had Axel’s number on it. He must have left it in his bed from that first night.

Roxas was proud of himself, it had been a full day, almost, since he had gotten Axel’s number and he hadn’t even thought of calling it. That was a really good accomplishment for him, especially considering he really couldn’t stop thinking about the red head. No matter how much he detested Axel, he always seemed to pop into his head. For example, one day he heard someone say ‘memorized’ and he immediately turned around, thinking it was Axel. And when he ate his favourite sea salt popsicle he was instantly brought back to what the taller man had said.

Pushing himself up and out of bed Roxas trudged to his bathroom. Flicking the light on he found his eyes drifting to his stomach, almost making sure the tattoo wasn’t actually there. He hadn’t realized it in the dream, but it definitely would have been a cool tattoo. Snapping himself out of his thoughts Roxas turned the shower on and after removing his boxers stepped in. After last night he definitely needed a shower, he could feel the dried sweat and... other bodily fluids still on him.

After a quick shower Roxas finished getting ready for the day, brushing his teeth, styling his hair, and getting dressed in his usual baggy pants, shirt and zip-up. Grabbing everything he dropped on his nightstand the night before he headed downstairs. Roxas wasn’t surprised to find out that his mom was out, she was probably still at church helping out the world. What was slightly more surprising was that Sora was out. He had left a note on the kitchen table: ‘Roxas, I’m out with Riku’.

Great, not only was he doomed to spend his Sunday alone, his brother was out with the bad influence. Sighing, Roxas walked over to the freezer, a popsicle would make his Sunday a little better. Opening the freezer he grabbed the blue box and pulled it out. Hm, it was suspiciously light. Looking inside Roxas was very disappointed to find no sea salt popsicles left. Well that wouldn’t do, time for Plan B. Closing the freezer Roxas hurried down to the basement. They had a big chest freezer in the cellar and he always kept an extra box hidden down there just in case of emergencies like this one. Pulling open the top lid Roxas smiled as he saw the familiar blue box. Grabbing it, Roxas pouted as he realized it was just as light as the last box. Opening it, his fears were confirmed, it was empty as well. Damn and he didn’t have a Plan C. Pouting, Roxas made his way back upstairs, he hadn’t realized he had finished off his back up box as well. Oh well now he had something to do for the rest of the day, go shopping for more popsicles.

Leaving a note saying he was going out, Roxas left the house, heading over to the bus stop. Luckily the bus came every 15 minutes so he didn’t have to wait long to get on.

The problem with being addicted to sea salt popsicles was that only one specialty food store sold them and that store was located pretty much in the heart of downtown. If he had known he was so close to being out of them he would have picked some up when he went with Sora to get his tattoo, they were only about a 10 minute walk apart.

After an uneventful bus ride Roxas got off at his stop and walked a block down the street to the store. He couldn’t help but smile as he saw the sign hanging out in front of the store, ‘The World That Never Was’ written in scrawling letters. Entering Roxas headed straight for the frozen food section.

The store contained many odd foods from around the world along with some organic and non-organic food. If you needed to find something really odd, you would probably find it there. The lights were always dim which Roxas found odd, but didn’t really care since they had his popsicles. He had first tried a sea salt popsicle when his friend Hayner’s mom had bought some for his son. She was a total health freak and had come across the store in her search for some weird health drink. Hayner detested them so he dared Roxas to eat one, and from then on he blamed his addiction on Hayner.

Reaching the frozen dessert section Roxas was relieved to see they had his popsicles. He didn’t know what he would have done if they had been sold out or something; though, he found that very unlikely since he was probably the only person in the city that ate them. Grabbing a box of his frozen treat Roxas wondered if he should get a second. Well, he did finish his Plan B stock very quickly so maybe he should. Grabbing another box Roxas piled them into his arms. Maybe he should grab an extra box, just in case. Without another moment of thought Roxas grabbed a third box. He was running out of room in his arms, but he could probably fit one more. So with a total of four boxes of sea salt popsicles in his arms, Roxas turned and started towards the cash.

Unfortunately he didn’t make it very far considering he ran into something and was sent sprawling to the ground. Groaning, Roxas pushed himself up into a sitting position he noticed his popsicles scattered around him. “Damn,” he cursed as he scrambled to pick all the boxes back up.

“Jeez Roxy, don’t you think you should get a basket or something?” a voice overhead asked.

“I thought I told you not to call me that,” was Roxas’ reply; he didn’t even bother to look up at the man, he knew it was Axel. Who else called him Roxy, and who else would say something like that. Giving an annoyed growl Roxas continued to pile the boxes back into his arms. “Maybe if you didn’t get in my way I wouldn’t need a basket,” he added, standing up and finally looking at Axel. The taller male was wearing a short sleeve t-shirt so Roxas was able to see the tattoos climbing up his left arm, a sleeve starting from his elbow and continuing up into his shirt. That made him wonder just how many tattoos Axel had on his body... Gah, stopping that thought immediately, Roxas glared at the red head, “Would you move?”

Laughing off Roxas’ attitude, Axel reached out and grabbed two of the boxes out of Roxas’ arms. “Or how about I help you? That way we’ll avoid any other incidences of you falling on your ass,” Axel suggested a smirk on his face. “At least here in the store.”

“Were you born an asshole?” Roxas asked, not even bothering to wait for a reply before he pushed past Axel, heading for the checkout.

“Yeah, they say it’s genetic, my mom’s a bitch too,” Axel laughed as followed the short blond. Reaching the cash Axel set the two boxes behind the two Roxas had already put on the counter.

God, Roxas couldn’t believe the things Axel said. Deciding to ignore however Axel felt about his mother, he changed the subject. “What are you doing here anyways?”

“Well I was going to pick up some chilli peppers, since they have some kickin’ hot ones here, but I can always pick those up later,” Axel replied as he watched Roxas greet the cashier and quickly pay for his desserts.

“Well I have an idea then, why don’t you go pick them up and I’ll go catch my bus now,” Roxas said grabbing his two bags and turning on his heel. “Have fun!” he called over his shoulder as he began walking out.

Unfortunately, as he figured, he didn’t make it very far before a hand grabbed his shoulder and stopped him. “Why do you seem to think you can get away from me?” Axel asked his lips extremely close to the short male’s ear. “Let me give you a ride home,” he added straightening himself up.

“Yeah right--”

“Cause I’d hate for your popsicles to melt on the bus ride home,” Axel stated, cutting him off.

Roxas turned quickly to face Axel, he did have a point, it was an unusually warm day; and by the look on the red head’s face he knew it. That stupid bastard. Growling, Roxas turned back and continued out of the store, muttering a ‘fine’ over his shoulder.

With a triumphant grin Axel followed him out onto the street. “This way, please,” he stated smoothly, turning up the street. It only took a few more steps before Axel stopped in front of a motorcycle. “Uhm, I left my helmets at home, so... yeah, hold on tight,” he said, easily sliding himself onto the bike.

“Wait a minute! I am not getting on a motorcycle with you, especially if you don’t have helmets. I’d rather not DIE today,” Roxas protested, crossing his arms over his chest. Out of everyone on the planet, Axel was probably the last person he wanted to be on a motorcycle with... or maybe the second last, his grandpa didn’t have very good vision.

“Drip, drip, drip.”

Ugh, why did it have to be such a hot day? With a defeated sigh Roxas awkwardly climbed onto the back of the bike, his bags around one wrist. “If you kill me I will come back to life and murder you.”

“Don’t worry so much, just give me directions as we go and we’ll make it in one piece,” Axel replied laughing. He didn’t even give Roxas another second to think before he took off quickly down the street. Unprepared for the departure Roxas clamped his arms tightly around Axel’s tiny waist and pulled himself in close behind Axel.

After Roxas got over his first bit of complete and utter terror he actually kind of enjoyed the ride, though he would never admit that to the red head. Sure Axel liked to weave a little too closely to cars and he probably went at least 30 over the speed limit, it was still cool to see everything fly past him so quickly. He only needed to give Axel a few directions before they were pulling into his drive way. Roxas swung himself off the bike and was surprised to find his legs didn’t feel like holding him up. Luckily, or unluckily in this case, Axel was there to support him and held him until his legs started working again. Without even a thanks Roxas turned and headed up his front steps to his house.

“Thanks for inviting me in Roxas, that was so nice of you,” Axel said happily as he jogged up behind Roxas.

With only a growl as a reply, Roxas opened his front door and stepped in. Kicking off his shoes Roxas padded into the kitchen and opened his freezer. He decided he might as well just put all four boxes up in this freezer since he was probably going to eat them pretty quickly.

“Where’s the family, Roxy?” Roxas nearly jumped at how close Axel’s voice, and therefore his body, was to his own.

Turning with a huff, Roxas pushed Axel back. “New rule, you MUST stay at least an arm’s length away from me at all times,” he stated, holding his arm out to show Axel the required distance. “Got it memorized?” he mocked.

A small smirk spread across Axel’s lips and Roxas immediately didn’t like the look of it. “Sure, Roxas! It’s a good thing I have longer arms than you though,” Axel laughed. To prove his point Axel lifted an arm and stretched it out, resting it on top of Roxas’ head. “I’m following your rule, Roxy.”

“Ugh! Why are you such a bastard?” Roxas exclaimed, beyond frustrated. Axel always had to say his stupid little comments and it was driving him up a wall; a very tall wall that he was sure he was doing to die from falling down.

“I already told you Roxas,” Axel said, his voice dropping down low, “you’re foxy when you’re all riled up.” With an ease that surprised even Axel, he slid his arm down from Roxas’ head to his back and pulled the small boy closer. “And it’s so easy to get you worked up,” Axel continued slowly, watching as a deep blush spread across Roxas’ cheeks.

Where had Axel gotten this ability to make him completely forget everything, Roxas wondered. The second his voice dropped and he took on that serious expression Roxas just couldn’t help but be completely mesmerized or something. It was annoying.

“Roxas,” Axel called softly. Noticing the lack of a response from the blond Axel couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you paying attention Roxy? You look distracted... like you want me to make out with you or something.” There was that laugh again, so deep and sensual, but at least it brought back some of Roxas’ senses.

“You’re so fucking cocky... it’s annoying,” Roxas deadpanned, though he didn’t actually try to move himself out of Axel’s grasp. And to make matters worse, without his permission, his arms lifted themselves up and wrapped around Axel’s neck, their fingers getting lost in his mass of red hair.

With another short laugh Axel pulled Roxas in closer, “You don’t know the half of it, Roxy.” Leaning forward Axel crushed his lips against the blonde’s in a heated kiss.

Roxas couldn’t help a quiet whimper as Axel chewed on his bottom lip. Why did Axel have to be such a good kisser? And why did his kisses have to be so hot? Roxas could feel his whole body flush as the kiss continued. Feeling Axel’s tongue pushing against his lips Roxas obediently parted them, tentatively reaching out with his own.

Axel was extremely pleased with Roxas’ response and pulled the blond even closer, feeling the smaller frame press tightly against his own. He could feel small fingers tighten in his hair and couldn’t help but moan himself. Slowly he slid his hand from around Roxas’ back to rest on his stomach, hot fingers peeking underneath his sweater.

“Hey Roxas! Whose bike’s outside?” Sora’s voice called through the house, the sound of the front door slamming following shortly after. “It’s so cool!”

In an instant Roxas pushed Axel away, taking an extra couple steps back for good measure. Fuck, Sora was back. He heard Axel growl unhappily, but ignored it. “Uhm, it’s....” Shit, this was bad. “Ugh it’s Axel’s,” Roxas replied uncertainly. How the hell was he going to explain Axel being in his house? Of course he could tell the truth but he would rather keep that a secret.

“What? Axel?” Sora repeated as he stepped into the kitchen, looking curiously at his brother and his guest. “What’s Axel doing here?”

Roxas searched for an answer, but couldn’t come up with anything that made sense and was believable. Fuck.... why couldn’t he think?

“We were just having a consultation. Roxas was telling me about the tattoo he wants to get,” Axel supplied, a smirk on his face. Roxas could barely hold himself back from strangling the red head. What kind of an excuse was that? Sora would never buy that!

“Really Roxas? That’s so cool, seeing me get mine made you want to get one too, didn’t it?” Sora stated happily, moving in closer to his brother. “So what were you thinking of getting?”

Roxas looked at his brother, disbelieving. His brother actually believed Axel’s story, even though there were so many flaws with it.

“He wants to get the number thirteen on his back,” Axel said, once again coming to his ‘rescue’. Wait... thirteen? Roxas whipped his head around to gape at Axel. Did he know about his dream? No, he couldn’t possibly. But... holy crap it was a very creepy coincidence.

“That would be so wicked Roxas, why didn’t you tell me that you wanted to get one too?” his brother’s expression was one of slight hurt and once again Roxas felt himself start to feel guilty, this time for something he didn’t even do!

“I wanted to surprise you Sora, I know you love surprises,” Roxas replied, emotionless. Shooting another glare at Axel, Roxas turned back to his brother. “And I’m probably not even going to go through with it.”

“Oh come on Roxas, you have to!” Sora stated. “Then we’d really be twins!”

Roxas didn’t really feel like pointing out to his brother that a tattoo wouldn’t make them twins, especially since they would have different tattoos.

“Yeah, come on Roxas. You know you wanna,” Axel agreed in a singsong voice.

Axel needed to shut up, Roxas thought. Shooting Axel a glare Roxas reached out and grabbed the red head’s wrist. “Excuse us Sora, we need to go finish our ‘consultation’,” Roxas practically growled before pulling Axel out of the kitchen and up the stairs.

Slamming his bedroom door behind them, Roxas turned on Axel. “What the hell are you doing? Telling my brother I want a tattoo?” God, every time he thought Axel couldn’t be more of an asshole he always managed to find some way to outdo himself.

“It saved your cute little ass didn’t it? Or would you rather we go back downstairs and show your brother what we were really doing?” Axel asked, a smirk on his lips. Stepping closer Axel wrapped his arms around Roxas’ waist. “Cause I wouldn’t mind giving a repeat performance,” he added, ducking his head down to kiss and nip down Roxas’ neck.

“Gah! Stop!” Roxas exclaimed, frantically trying to push Axel away. There was no way in hell he was going to get distracted this time. “That’s not what we came up here for!”

Stopping, Axel brought his head back to look at Roxas. Shifting his eyes to the side Axel eyed Roxas’ bed. “Really Roxas? You did bring me up to your room after all,” Axel stated, taking on a fake expression of surprise. “I was going to take things slow, but if that’s not what you want then I would be more than willing to please,” he practically purred the last word. Using his arms wrapped around Roxas Axel lifted the smaller boy off the ground.

“What the fuck? Are you mental?” Roxas screamed. What the fuck was going through Axel’s demented mind! “That’s not why I brought you up here!” he continued to yell as Axel dropped him none too gently onto the bed. His heart beat sped up greatly as he watched Axel climb on top of him. How the hell did this come about? Did he miss something? He was supposed to be angry with Axel, not lying under him.

“Are you so sure Roxy?” Axel stated simply, a wicked gleam in his eyes as he looked down at Roxas.

Roxas was practically panting as he looked up at Axel, wishing he could take off his sweater because it was getting kind of hot again. “Yeah,” Roxas replied, though his voice was nowhere near as confident as he wanted it to sound. If anything it sounded more like a plea. God, it would have been so easy to just push Axel off him, yet he couldn’t find the strength to lift his arms.

“So then why do you sleep with my number on your bed?” Axel whispered as he picked the piece of paper off the bed and let it float down onto Roxas’ chest. “Then why are you breathing so hard?” Dropping his head Axel barely brushed his lips across Roxas’, feeling him arch up at the contact. “Why don’t you stop me?” he asked as he once again pressed his lips against Roxas’ in a searing kiss.

Roxas’ head was swimming as the kiss resumed, as passionate as it was when they left off. He lifted his arms up and wrapped them tightly around Axel’s neck, trying to ground himself before he drowned in the sensations. Feeling heat spread across his stomach along with a wave of cold air, Roxas realized Axel had pushed his sweater up and had his palm spread across his stomach. He shivered as he felt those warm digits inch up his chest.

Feeling his chest constrict with the need for oxygen Roxas pulled back, panting as Axel immediately attacked his neck, sucking and biting. “Hmm... Axel,” Roxas did really want to tell Axel that this was not the time or place but he had lost his ability to form words some time ago.

Pushing Roxas’ sweater up higher Axel’s fingers played along his chest, stopping to tease his nipples. This pulled a long gasping moan out of the small blond, causing him to arch up into the touch. Pulling his head away from Roxas’ neck Axel was about to move down to nip at his chest when his watch beeped. Cursing under his breath Axel sat himself up, straddling Roxas’ hips.

“Well as much as I would love to continue molesting you, I have to jet,” Axel stated, lifting a hand to run it through his hair in slight frustration. Looking down at Roxas, his sweater still bunched up under his chin, looking all wanton and needy Axel almost reconsidered leaving; but he couldn’t. “Please call me this time Roxy,” he said softly, leaning down to kiss Roxas one last time before he got up and left the blonde’s room, letting himself out.

Meanwhile Roxas was still just lying on his bed, his mind trying to catch up to everything that just happened. He felt his whole body shiver as he realized Axel’s warmth was no longer heating his stomach and slowly pushed his sweater back down. His head turned towards his door, Roxas chewed on his lower lip.

So he guessed there was no doubt about it now. He liked the bastard and he was going to call him.
