Familiar faces.
Marri opened her eyes and looked around. She was tied to a tree. There was a bear at her feet, snoring loudly. She shivered, remembering how that bear killed Adonai. Now that same bear had a part in killing Eroth. This couldn’t be happening! Damn them! This couldn’t be happening.
“Well, your prize has awoken, Prin.” Came the silky voice of a female night elf. Marri didn’t know what she said, but that was clear enough without her needing to look up.
She did look up however, and got the shock of her life. Before her stood the night elf bitch who had come to her village and slaughtered her friends, family and her fiancé.
“You!! You filt’y bitch!” Marri growled with hatred.
“My, she’s got spirit.” She said with a laugh. “Why did you keep her alive, Prin?”
“I want to make her my play thing.” Prin said with a sweet giggle.
“Wasn’t the Tauren enough of a play thing for you?” Arian, the elven priestess asked.
“No.” Prin said with a pout.
Rummy knelt before Marri. He placed his hand to his chest. “Rummy.” He said. “Ru me.” He pronounced it slowly for her.
Marri glared at him. He was trying to tell her his name? After what happened to Adonai and Eroth?! “Rummy.” She practically spit out the word. She seethed. His name would be forever burned into her mind, like the visions of her first love, Adonai, and Eroth’s deaths.
He nodded. “Rummy.” He repeated then placed his hand over her chest to signal her to give him her name.
She spit on his hand. He placed it back on his own chest. “Rummy.” He repeated then placed it back on hers.
She grit her teeth. He wouldn’t get his filthy meaty paws off her until she gave her name. “Marri.” She said.
“Marri?” Rummy repeated. “The lass has a sweet name.” He turned to Prin. “Are ya really gonna do ta her what ya did to the calf?”
“Not yet.” Prin said. “I want her to have her free will for now. But speaking of him. Bovine! Get out here!”
Out of the large tent came a large Tauren. His fur was black, his horns curved forward. A braid hung down from his chin and a golden collar hung around his neck. All he wore was a woolen loincloth. His eyes were empty, his face void of all expression. He walked over and knelt before the tiny warlock.
“There you are, my precious pet.” Prin said, petting his snout with her tiny stubby hand. “Meet Marri, she’ll be your new play mate.”
The Tauren looked at Marri. Marri felt a swell of pity. What had that horrible gnome done to him?! She had come to respect the Tauren. They were strong fighters and noble people. She was treating him like some sort of dog!
“Greetings, Marri.” The tauren said to her, flatly. “My name is Windhorn.”
“Did I say you could talk?!” Prin growled before casting a spell that sent the tauren to the ground in searing pain. Marri gasped in horror. When it relented, she petted his snout again. “See what you made me do, my sweet pet? Do you think I like hurting you?”
He grunted in pain but got back to his knees.
“Prin, do ya need ta be so hard on the lad? He’s obeyin’ ya.” Rummy said.
“He knows better.” Was all Prin said.
“You’re all monsters! Leave him alone!” Marri snapped.
Arian slapped Marri across the face. “Shut up, you troll slut!” She growled.
“Now, lass, there be no need fer that.” Rummy said. “She’s helpless.”
“But she’s damned annoying.” Kal said.
“Aye, but still.” Rummy said. “She’s just frightened. Wouldn’t you be?”
Prin chuckled. “Oh trust me... if she’s frightened now, she’ll be terrified later.” She said licking her soft lips. “She’ll be a fun toy.”
Marri spit on the elven priestess. Arian growled angrily and struck her hard. She was about to strike her again when Rummy grabbed her arm.
“That’s enough!” He growled.
“She’s a troll!” Arian said. “Don’t defend her.”
“She’s tied up and unable to defend herself, so someone has to.” Rummy said. “If we were going to kill her on the field of battle, that would be one thing. But she is our prisoner. I will not allow you to treat her like that.”
Arian laughed mirthlessly. “Honestly, Rummy, you’re a soft hearted bastard.” She said. “What I would do to her would be merciful compared to what Prin will do with her.”
Rummy narrowed his eyes. “It’s late. I’m going to bed.” He said. “Kal, you have first watch. Arian, you have second watch. I’ll take third. Prin your fourth.” He said.
“Okies!” Prin said cheerfully. “Pet... take Marri to our tent. It’s time to have some fun before we go to sleep.” She skipped off to her tent.
Windhorn undid Marri’s bonds and rebound them with her off the tree. “Please don’t struggle, Marri.” He said in a flat tone.
Marri hung her head. Eroth was dead. She was captured. She was forced to share space with the elf who killed her first love, the dwarf that killed Adonai, and the human who killed Eroth. The gnome was going to do spirits knew what to her. Tears fell silently over her cheeks as Windhorn led her to the tent.
None of them noticed they were being watched from the top of the hill.
