Title:Waiting for You
Author: x-Hitoshirezu-x
Pages:
Pairing: Riku x Sora (hints) Axel x Sora (soon) Marluxia x Riku (hints)
Summary: Set in the same time as chapter one. Riku finally breaks free from his prison, only to meet up with someone unexpected.

Authors Note: As someone pointed out to me, I was a re-re, and didn't actually put footnotes in like I'd made for! So, here are the footnotes now:

1: Shiri-Tori is a Japanese word game where the last syllable is used as the first in a new word. For example: Omae, Aero, Rokusasu, Suki, Kiseki...And so on and so forth.

2: This will become significant in the future. Sora used to have an older brother, who is yet unnamed. (Ah, the wonders of cliffhangers). His death will be explained in a later chapter.

02. Realization
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can't wait anymore. It's been too long for me and this madness that's growing inside of me is telling me that I have to move on. Now you won't have to be the only one searching, and we'll be together even sooner then either of us thought. So hold on a little longer, and remember that I'm going to save you, Sora.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
When he first saw the light it was almost too bright for him to handle. Aqua eyes narrowed as they glanced around.

Stupid boy...Do you honestly think that the Keyblader is looking for you?

"I'm sure that he's trying to find me. Sora's not the kind of person to break a promise."

Are you so sure? I think if he was going to come and find you then he would have already done it.

"Shut up, Ansem. I don't need to listen to you."

Riku closed his eyes brieftly, then turned to the left. He wasn't sure where he was, not entirely anyway. He knew that it was a castle of some sort. It was the only explination for the dungeon. Said dungeon also wasn't so hard to figure out, as Riku was soon on the first floor of the building.

"Well...that wasn't hard."

Aqua eyes took note of the many guards, and a silvery eyebrow perked up, a smirk crossing over his features. Calling upon his darkness power, he stepped into a portal. Closing it behind him, he wandered down the path, opening portals here and there to peek out and see where he was. Once he found one that was no longer inside of the building, he opened it fully, stepping out into a grassy field.

"What'dya know? Seems like I was right. I knew there was something fishy about the place."

It wasn't a castle at all. It was a normal house that, he supposed, had been charmed on the inside to look like it was a castle. Maybe to throw off people who tried to escape (like him) or to keep intruders out. Or, maybe it really was a castle and the outside was charmed. He didn't dwell on it too long however. He was already starting to lose his mind, he didn't need to get it wrapped around something like that.

Intent on putting the place behind him, Riku stared to walk away from the "castle". Frowning, he realized that he had no clue where he was. It wasn't anything he was familiar with. Long patches of grass, no trees to keep him shaded. However, there was a path of dirt that was beaten into the ground that went for miles in each direction.

Glancing both ways, he finally chose the left path. Snorting at his negativity he started down the chosen way, hands jamming themselves into his pockets.

You honestly expect to find the little brat? You should know by now not to trust anyone but yourself. If you continue to believe in him, you'll be sadly disappointed.

"Like you'd know. I believe in Sora because he's never given me a real reason not to."

Without him even noticing, it had steadily began to get darker, and his already weakened body began to succumb to the wearyness that it'd been fighting since he escaped. Once the sun had completely disappeared, Riku felt himself hitting the ground, sprawling across it as he winced.

"This is turning out to be more troublesome then I thought it would be."

Rolling himself over, he stared up at the slowly-becoming-starry sky. A deep sigh escaped from his lips as he tried to drown out Ansem's words. Who cared what the male thought? He himself knew deep down that Sora would definately be coming for him. This thought in mind, he began to doze off, only to be snapped back into conciousness as a voice called out to him.

"Oi, you dead over there?"

Riku sat up, finding a male not too far away from him. Or was it a female? Blinking, he forced himself to stand, meandering towards the figure, eyes scanning it intently before his eyes went wide.

"Ah. Male."

"Pardon me?"

"...Eh, nothing. No, I'm not dead, obviously."

"You could have fooled me. Why are you asleep out here anyway? The town is right over that hill over there."

"Hill?"

Turning in the direction that the male pointed in he found that, indeed, there was a hill there. Why hadn't he noticed it before?

"---uxia."

"What?"

"I said, my name is Marluxia. I guess I'm your night in shining armour as it was."

"...Right. So basically, you're just passing through on your way to town and happened to find me?"

"Exactly. However, I don't feel like walking back all that way. Tell you what, since I found you laying out here like this, why don't I just share my cottage with you? I can make a portal of darkness and we'll be there in no time."

Shocked, Riku glared.

"Darkness portal? Just who are you?"

Marluxia smirked, flicking his hair over his shoulder as he bowed.

"I'm number eleven, Marluxia: The Graceful Assassin. Pleased to meet you. You still havn't told me your name either."

"...It's Riku. And eleven of what?"

"It's not important. Someone like you would probably find it boring. But, I offer you shelter in my home, which I wouldn't do for just anyone. So why don't you just take me up on the offer? Besides, I'd hate for you to get sick by having to stay out here all night long."

Weighing his options, Riku finally nodded his head.

"Alright."

"Splended. I'll be able to treat those wounds as well."

Marluxia lifted his hand, a portal soon sprouting in front, larger enough for the two males to walk inside of it.

"Well then, Riku. Let's get going."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ouch. Where the hell did you come from, anyway? Not many people have cuts and bruises like this from just wandering around the world like you claim."
"...I'm well traveled."
Marluxia "hmm"'d lightly as he pressed the damp cloth to the worst of Riku's cuts, a frown marring his otherwise pretty face.
"Well, sure as shit, I'm sure that you'll heal up just fine. You're resilliant 'cause you're still young."
"You make it sound like you're an old geaser."
"How old do I look to you?"
"Early twenties."
"You flatter me. I'm almost twenty-nine. But, thank you for the compliment. You're much nicer then that Sora kid that I saw be---"
"Did you say "Sora"?!"
Blinking, Marluxia smiled, nodding his head.
"Yes. Sora. He's the kid that has the keyblade. He's a smart-mouth that one. He called me a "Flower-Fag" the last time I saw him."
"That sounds like him alright. Listen, I've been looking for him for a long time. We're childhood friends. Do you have any idea where he could be?"
"Be? Of course I know where he is. He's with number eight still."
"Number eight?"
"Axel, rather. Axel found him and took him in. Last I knew he was "showing" Sora a "good time"."
There was silence as Marluxia finished his sentance. Riku's eyes were wide, then they narrowed and he hissed slightly.
"I see. So while I was locked away, Sora was off getting fucked by some guy. Way to go, buddy. I'm so glad that I was thinking of you."
I told you that this would happen. You did not believe me.
"Shut up!"
"I'm afraid that I didn't say anything..."
Riku let out a frustrated sound.
"No, not you Marluxia. I...would it be alright if I just went to bed now?"
"Of course! The guest room is right through that door. Please, rest well."
"Hn."
~~~~~~~~~
Once Riku was within his room, Marluxia's charming act dropped, a cruel smirk crossing his lips. He quickly pulled out a pen and paper.

Vexen- Release that toy that you've been working on for so long. I've got the real Riku with me now and I'll soon be able to deliever him to you. I just have to try and earn his trust. He already has his doubts about Sora, now I just have to nurture those thoughts into feelings and the plan will be complete. Do not fail me you miserable old man.
----Marluxia

A portal was opened and Marluxia dropped the letter, knowing that it would end up in Vexen's hands at some point or other.
~~~~~~~~~~
Crawling out of bed the next morning, Riku was anything but happy. Shuffling out of the borrowed room, he was greated by the scent of bacon and eggs. His stomach announced his arrival.
"Good morning, Riku. Take a seat. Breakfast will be ready soon."
Grunting, the silverette did as he was asked. He glanced around the room, sighing softly once more as his mind wandered.
"Do you think that he's worried about me?"
"Who?"
"Sora."
"Oh."
Marluxia served the food to the boy, looking as if he was clearly thinking the question over in his head before finally sighing as he sat down.
"Look, I know that this might sound cruel, but I talked to Axel last night. I told him how I'd found you and he repeated it to Sora. It turns out that the kid had given up on ever finding you. When he heard that you'd been found he was thrilled. I offered to bring you to meet him, but he refused saying that now that he knew you were safe it was okay to hate you."
Riku choked on his bacon, eyes growing wide as he looked at the sepia-haired male.
"He said WHAT? So because I'm not dead he can hate me, but if I was dead, what, would he feel guilty? That brat..."
Marluxia contained the smirk that threatened to break free.
"Don't worry about him. You're free to live here with me, if you want. It does get rather lonely all by myself. I'm sure that if you just give him enough time, Sora will come around."
Riku refused to speak, only nodding his head in somewhat acceptance to this explination. No sooner did he finish eating was he sent out to gather some wood for the fireplace.
Marluxia stood by the window, watching out towards the woods, being sure that he kept his eyes on the other boy.
"Soon, you'll grow to hate that boy, and when that hate has fully blossomed you'll be at your full potential. Until then, I think that I'm going to keep you here."
~~~~~~TBC

Have you betrayed me afterall? What is this feeling that's growing inside of me? The pain, the anger. The torment. Have you been trying all that hard to find me at all? I thought that I was something special to you. Were you just lying to me? Why? Why? WHY? Sora...I thought that we'd be friends forever...

Author's Note: Yeah so..chapter two sucks. But that's because I wrote it AFTER three. Which means three is written and I'll probably post it in about a week. I'm trying to see if I can be one chapter ahead everytime, so I"m going to start working on chapter four as well. Thank you for reading!
