After Camp

Author's Note: I've been meaning to get this on sooner, but it was Thanksgiving and a problem came up. Sorry about it. I really hope you all enjoy this. Also, there's gay in this chapter. Strong musky smells of gayfs;lkaj;laskdf;lkjsalk.

A yawn echoed inside the small room, Tails stretching out his limbs before opening his eyes. He noticed he's alone inside and began to wonder where his other friend was. Slowly pushing himself up and unzipping the flap, he walked out into the bright, sunny morning forest. Quickly, his eyes spotted Shadow sitting infront of the lake with a fishing rod and leaning againts a tree, completely relaxed. Grinning, the fox crouched down and slowly took steps closer to the unsuspecting hedgehog. Shadow's ear twicted from the rustle of grass near him and he looked to his right.

"Tails?" he asked, before his eyes could focus on the objects around him.

Suddenly, Tails leaped forward and pushed Shadow into the lake, who fell in with a fairly large splash. He was quick to resurface, gasping for breath and out of surprise when he came to his sense, but steadily stayed up in the water, looking up to the kid in a bit of anger at first.

"Tails! What are you doing?!" he yelled angrily, swimming closer to the shore.

Tails replied inbetween giggles, "Aw, come on, don't you know how to have fun?" With that, he turned around and twirled his tails as if to fly, but dunked them into the water, to continuously splash over the now-soaked hedgehog.

'Fun?...' he thought as he held up a hand againts the water splashing into him. Smirking, he reached out to the fox tails and firmly, but not painfully, pulled Tails in, who fell backwards screaming into the lake, but grabbed on to nearby dirt and grass on the shore and pulled himself up, sitting on his knees and gasping. Drenched, but happy, he began to laugh loudly. Feeling less awkward in it, Shadow felt himself relax and couldn't help but give off a few chuckles himself.

Turning around again, Tails tackled into his black and red-quilled friend, driving them both into the water. Shadow grabbed Tails and held him with one arm, then swam up out of the lake and dropped Tails lightly on his back, the hedgehog directly above him, panting and still smiling. After laughing a bit more, they went silent and looked into each other's eyes, noticing how close their bodies are and how wet they both were. Feeling nervous, Shadow started to look off to his right, his eyes focusing out, but Tails raised his head up and gave a soft lick on his cheek.

Instantly after the lick, Shadow gasped and got up, grabbing his backpack from the tent and putting it next to the dead fireplace, so he could get a towl and dry off, not looking over directly to the two-tailed fox, who slowly sat up and looked down in shame, unsure if he had done something wrong or not. Shadow wasn't trying to be mean, not by any means, he was simply completely unsure of how to respond to that. He'd never 'been' with anyone before and he'd hardly ever had friends in the first place. This whole trip was so awkward to him and he hated the feeling of not knowing what to do, it's the same as feeling weak.

"Uhm... Shadow?" Tails asked quietly.

"What?" he turned his head slightly over his shoulder, so he could see the fox in the corner of his eye.

Hesitating, but finally looking up to Shadow as he asks worriedly, "Do you like me?"

That hurt him a little inside, that question. Of course he did, but how should he say it? "Tails, I..."

The young fox looked up with hope, the look of the kind of hope that if shattered, the world might explode. Those cute puppy-dog eyes were too much for Shadow to bare with direct eye contact, so he did the best he could do. He turned around fully and looked down low, his eyes closed.

"Tails, have you... ever been with someone before?" he asked, hesitating in his sentence.

Tails cocked his head, nodding, "Uh, me and Sonic go around everywhere together. Why?"

Shadow shook his head, "No, that's not what I meant." He turned to his left, so that his side is visible, eyes cracking open. "Maria. She was the first one I had ever been with. My first friend, my first... love." At that last word, the kid fox got a more serious expression on his face, no longer thinking of why the black and red creature might have been interested in him and Sonic, even though he wasn't in the first place. "Every day, I looked forward to being with her. But in the end, love wasn't enough to save her. Friendship wasn't enough to save the others on the ARK." Now, Shadow finally looked into Tails' eyes. "I can't protect my friends, or the people I love. Also-"

"I don't need to be protected!" Tails interrupted suddenly, almost crying. He violently turned his head to the left, biting his bottom lip, trying to gather courage admist his hurt feelings and anger. "Don't you get it?! Shadow, I... I-... I like you, damn it! I want to be with you! Sonic and Knuckles, they're fun and good people," his voice softened up now and became a little more sweet. "But, you're different from them." The fox began to curl up into a ball, sniffling loudly and almost bursing into a cry. "They're just friends."

But, suddenly, he looked up to Shadow, looking somewhat a little more angry, "Or, is it something else? Is it that I'm a guy?"

"Tails, I'm," the hedgehog couldnt finish his sentence. He was completely unsure of how to continue on, so he started something else. "Don't you know if we even got together, we probably wouldn't be accepted for being together? There'd be so many prejudices, people would outgoingly attack us and I, I can't protect anyone. I failed at that. There's no second chances in my lifetime."

"Shadow..." was all the reply the fox kid could get before he bursted into tears into his arm, got up and ran off, back in to the general direction of the town. He didn't choose to fly, he just wanted to get in to a private area and just cry. Crying was all he could do now, the weakness he felt was immense. His feelings had been opened up, then crushed.

It all made the dark hedgehog feel rather guilty, but he felt it was the right thing to do. "I'm sorry, Tails," Shadow muttered to himself once the kid was gone. "It's better this way."

---

Sonic was laying in his apartment, right in the middle of the damn floor, yesterday's newspaper covering his face, mostly to block light shining through the cracks of the door and window blinds. A can of his favorite soda lay next to him, fallen on its' side, but none spilt, due to it having been drained completely by the lazy, yet somehow hyper-active blue hedgehog. His sleep was suddenly interrupted when the apartment door was slammed open and fast footsteps ran into the only bedroom, slamming the door. Crying ensued. Loudly.

"Nnngh, wzhat the fugh?" Sonic sat up instantly, drool having made the newspaper stick to his face. Quickly grabbing it off and tossing it aside, he quickly got up and ran to to the bedroom door. The crying and wailing voice was familiar enough, so he knocked at first. "Hey, Tails, buddy? What's wrong?"

Unfortunately, the young fox was too busy almost screaming to bother replying. Sonic tried to open the door, but he found it to be locked. Not that it mattered too much, as the handy hedgehog always kept the keys on him, or nearby. Grabbing it from near the soda can he was sleeping at before, because he had walked in and just tossed it there next to the rest of his junk when he came back from a bit of running excercise. Easily opening the door now, he slowly walked in, careful not to disturb the apparently badly hurt sidekick of his. The blue-quilled partner lowered down on to his knees and hugged his friend tightly, who in return instantly latched around Sonic in a return hug, crying deeply in to his chest fur.

Sonic began to pet Tails' back softly, calling out soothingly to him, "Shh, it's okay, little pal. I'm right here for you. You can tell me what's up."

However, it wasn't for a few long minutes Tails calmed down enough from complete hard bursts of crying tosmall sniffles. He cleared his throat and took another minute to gather his thoughts. The cradling and soft back-and-forth rocking from Sonic made it seem easier. Deep inside, under all the distress he was feeling over Shadow, he still felt uncomfortable here, in this situation, with Sonic holding him like this. But, he was desperate and just wanted anyone to comfort him. Part of the reason he felt uncomfortable was because Sonic refused to show this kind of kindness in public, insisting he had to keep a good image for the ladies. The other reason... well, it's complicated.

"Just," Tails began, trying his hardest to speak clearly and have his sentences seperated by as few sniffled as possible, "a little trouble on a, uhm, date." He decided on the word, it seeming like the easiest thing to say to Sonic. It's not like he could say the truth completely, not to this person.

"Ahh, haha, I see! So, that's where my little pal was all this time," the blue hedgehog replied with enthusiasm, but he still kept a soft and comforting tone, trying to pursuade the atmosphere. "I'm guessing it didn't go so well. What happened?"

"He, he..." Thinking back on it made the fox cry for a bit again. Sonic the Hedgehog, the only person who he was open to about being gay, but, again, that's a complicated subject. For now, it'll settle enough, this is the only person he can talk to for now. "He just told me I had to go was all. It hurt a lot, I really had some hopes."

The understanding Sonic nodded, hugging more tightly and nuzzling Tails' cheek, "It's okay now, you're a good girl."

Tails looked up slowly to the blue hedgehog, sniffling, "Girl?"

Sonic smirked and then brought his face slowly closer to the mattened-furred face of the cute, orange fox, taking a moment to breath in his young scent before he gently pressed his lips againts those lightly-pink, soft lips. The kiss lasted for longer than Tails had have liked, but he felt so, well, submissive. He couldn't do anything, except kiss back.

"Girl. You're my girl," he answered. "I'm going to make it all better, okay?"

It was something that Sonic said a lot, he called Tails a girl, not in a mocking way, but a serious way. Of course, he always referred to the both of them as males when outside and always insisted that he was straight and that Tails was too young to be worried about a relationship yet, busy with mechanics and that good junk. It honestly made the poor fox very confused at times. Things like that. But then, he'd sometimes get asked questions about things like cars, how to fix one, make one, things he could only talk to "the guys" about and not with Amy, Rouge, Blaze, or any girl about. It was so confusing.

But at the moment, there wasn't time for Tails to think over all that. He simply nodded at Sonic, "O-okay..." the orange fox replied weakly. "I'm your girl."

Again, they kissed. This time, more passionately. Sonic licked the foxy lips a few times, causing the young kid to shiver with curious delight. Seeing the action being enjoyed, the hedgehog pried Tails' lips slightly apart with his tongue, slithering his tongue inside. Instantly, Tails whimpered girlishly at it, at which point he was hugged tightly and brought closer to the hedgehog's chest, being mashed up in to chest fluff. Somehow, something in the back of his mind told him he shouldn't be doing this, but Tails couldn't bring himself to do anything about it. This was Sonic the Hedgehog, hero of more than one world, one of his best friends, he was his sidekick, small mechanical partner.

Softly and slowly, Sonic pushed tails down on to his back, so that the hedgehog was on top. While he did this, he never broke the kiss, swimming in the fox's mouth, his tongue venturing down into his throat, flickering on his throat and mouth walls. Tails began to feel something hot and wet rub on his inner thigh and light thrusts againts him.

"Be a good girl and spread your legs," Sonic whispered, only breaking the kiss for the shortest time possible to say it. Obediently, but hesitantly, Tails widened his legs up to his blue friend. Quickly taking off his gloves, Sonic began to messages the kid fox's thighs, then moved up, inch by inch, until he met a very warm opening, underneath the two tails. The hedgehog began to rub Tails' enterance, who moaned softly at the touch, but his face looked a little confused, like he was still unsure if this was right, not that Sonic could see this, since his face was all over the fox's. Not that he'd care, even if he could see! Gradually, he applied more pressure with his fingers, until one fingertip slipped in.

This causes Tails to almost bark, instinctively pushing himself down hard over the finger, sliding it in. It wasn't that he wanted to do it, but his body told him so. Grinning to himself, Sonic broke the kiss and instead replaced it with nuzzling Tails on the chin to make him raise his head, then began to nibble on his neck, slowly pumping the finger, picking up speed with time.

"Nnngh! S...Sonic!" Tails moaned, feeling his own erection rub on his friends' fur, with him laying on top of him like this.

Grinning to himself more now, he grabbed the fox on his sides and flipped over so that Tails is on top now. "If you want it so badly, then ride it."

Nodding slowly, the fox crawled and wiggled in position, sittin on spread knees over Sonic, lowering himself slowly, his tails raised up. He closed his eyes and bit his bottom lip when his warm fleshy enterance touched Sonic's member, which was met by a sharp thrust. He screamed in sudden pain, but Sonic held him down by his shoulders, letting him take a moment to relax. Sighing finally, the fox began to gently rock himself over the blue creature underneath him, his inner rings tight with youth. Sonic dug his claws into the ground, panting softly. He grabbed Tails by his rump, helping him keep steady and also forcing him to rock faster.

"Mmmph, ugh, T-Tails, you're so...!" was all Sonic could manage out before his voice was overcome with moans.

By now, the fox was slamming on top of his blue friend, but when Sonic felt something start to form up in his member, he quickly pulled Tails off, forced him on his knees and stood infront of him, rubbing himself over the fox's lips. "Lick it clean," Sonic demanded in a simple tone. Tails opened his mouth, then nuzzled his lips on to the fleshy member tip, licking at it a few times softly, then his licks lengthened in distance covered and the pressure hardened.

"Agh, ogh, God, Tails! I'm-!..."

Lightly, Tails bit down on to Sonic's shaft as he reached his orgasm, causing the hedgehog to groan and hump lightly inbetween the sharp fangs. Hot, thick threads of his hedgehog seed shot out and landed partially on the fox's cheek fur, the rest, mostly on the ground. During these intense moments of pleasure, Sonic grabbed his sidekick by the shoulders and dug his claws in deeply, moaning. Eventually, of course, the intensity died down, his member went flacid, their pantings lowered to calm breathing. Finally, the fang embrace released and the lazy hedgehog fell down in to a sitting position, leaning againts his bed frame, sighing in content. Tails laid down quietly after his 'thing' with Sonic, pretending to be asleep until the hedgehog did it for real. Afterwards, he got up and quietly crept out of the room.

Amy Rose fluttered her eyes open when she heard a loud rattle at her house door. Yep, you heard right, she actually has a legitimate house, unlike those pretend-college-frat-house people! Quickly, she sat up and walked to her door, eyes wide with curiosity and a puffy smile on her face.

"Oh, I wonder who'd come over to my lovely household?! Oooh! I bet it's Soniiiiic!~" she giggled to herself and held her hands up, balled tightly with excitement. She opened her door and smiled brightly. "Hello! Please co- huh? Who's there?"

"Down here!" Tails waved up from the ground, then flew up a couple of feet to stare into Amy's eyes.

She blinked in confusion, wondering why Tails was here, but then smiled and suddenly hugged him overly tightly, happy in any case to get a visitor.

"Ackgh, Amy! Ch-gh-agh-cho-keen!" the fox wiggled around in the tight hug desperately, until she finally let go and he fell on the ground, gasping for air. Amy just smiled down at him.

"So! What did you want? Oh! I know!" she giggled out excitedly. "You wanted to know the secret recipe to my Amazing Amy Apple Pie, didn't you?! Well, no siree! Not unless-"

"Nonono!" Tails shook his head, then stood back up on his feet. "I just, uhm, wanted, wanted to ask some things. Uh, you know, girl stuff!" squeeked the fox, waving his hands nervously and fake laughing. "I don't understand them!"

The pink hedgehog giggled, holding a hand to her mouth. She didn't seem to notice the obscenely obvious, putting her other hand on the fox's shoulder and slowly pushing him in to her house, "Sure! Come in, come in! I just finished baking cookies, have some!"

Before he could protest about any of it, he was already pushed past the doorway and Amy had ran off in to the kitchen, getting a plate. Sighing, Tail closed the front door that had been left open and went to sit on a couch, looking down below and thinking to himself, lightly rocking both feet. 'Why does he do that to me?' 'Why does he call me a girl?' 'What am I to him, to other people? To myself?'

He brought his hands up to his eyes and looked at them, shaking slightly and spoke out loud without even thinking about it, "Am I a girl?"

At that same time, the pink Amy walked in the living room where Tails was sitting, a plate full of hot cookies. She blinked a little, having heard him say something, but didn't catch the words, "Hmm? Did you say something, Tails?" she asked curiously, sitting down next to him on the couch and putting the plate on a coffee table infront of them. Then, she put a fingertip to her chin.

"I don't understand boys, them always talking to themselves! I mean, why would you ever do such a thing?! I always sleep-talk about Sonic, but is that really the same thing? Or maybe..." She kept going on for awhile.

Tails scooted an inch away from her, slowly. He thought to himself, 'And you say guys talk to themselves?' Sighing, he grabbed a warm chocolate chip cookie and bit into it. It was soft, even tasted slightly like cookie dough still, but by no means was it raw. Just the way he loved them! As annoying as she is, Amy cooked pretty damn good. 'Maybe I should take some time off of my mechanics to come over here to learn how to cook...' But, the picture of the Sonic cake came back to his mind and he shuddered. Finishing his cookie quickly, he chose to interrupt Amy, who had been talking to herself loudly this whole time.

"I came over to ask things, because I don't know anything about girls," his voice sounded shy and even a little low, but it was enough to get Amy to stop talking, so that she could hear the little fox speak, looking down at him and smiling with her full attention. Liking the cookies quite a lot, he casually grabbed one, looking down at it, since he was too shy to look at Amy directly, "Like, I don't know what they look like, or what they wear." The, he tossed the cookie whole into his mouth, chewed and swallowed.

Amy quirked an eyebrow at the comment, "Tails, are you flirting with me?"

Instantly, the fox kid realized everything he said actually did sound pretty suggestive. He choked on what he had been swallowing and coughed it up. He held up his hands and waved them infront of himself, shaking his head, "No! That's not what I was doing, I was just, uhm, I, er!..."

She shook her head slowly, "Aw, Tails, you're cute and all, but everyone knows I'm deeply in love with Sonic and completely committed!"

"Er, yeah," Tails scratched his head and then began to walk towards the front door. "Well, uhm, I gotta go! I still need to make repairs on the Blue Typhoon on me and Sonic's last training mission." He turned around and began to walk out, but... he decided to briefly turn around and grab another cookie before trotting off.

Amy blinked, a little concerned about the odd behavior. Tails didn't usually want to come over to visit. The only few times he did was when he needed to tell her something about Sonic and that one time for his last birthday (which, to everyone's surprise, was a cake shaped in two tails and not Sonic's head). She hmm'd softly to herself, watching the kid open the door and walk off.

---

And all he could think of was, 'I'm sorry, Tails, it's just better this way.'

After having returned to his apartment at the dead of night and putting his equipment back in their proper places, Shadow still didn't feel comfortable just sitting in his apartment doing nothing for the rest of the night, feeling too emotionally unsettled for something that simple, so he was hopping on buildings, grinding down lamp posts and street lights. In the corner of his eye, admidst all the blur of his vision, he saw a streak of blue. Instantly feeling as if he may know who it is, he stopped on top of the current building he was on, a pizza joint, with a dark alley. He looked more closely, clearly seeing Sonic with a strange person in an overcoat. The blue hedgehog then turned around and ran off, not seeming to notice Shadow's presence. Scratching his chin, he wondered what exactly was going on, but perhaps it's not his business what the dumb blue faker does at the middle of the damn night instead of sleeping.
