Part 1: New Tricks, but Same Old Robotnik

Back in Robotropolis, Snively was in his uncle's chair spinning around and laughing at his uncle's mishap.

"What is program Packbell?" Snively asked.
"It is my ultimate creation. My first android. He will be immortal and carry out my work after I am dead."

"Borg area 12, spacial grid 82, section 18. Planet Mobius, life forms of animal human hybrid genetics. Assimulation is essential. Asteroid belt blocking cube 305 from assimilation. Sending small sphere for small scale assimulation." the Borg collective droned in its collective voice as a small sphere came out of the cubic shaped ship. The sphere was
almost out of the asteroid belt when it hit a large rock and spun out of control. It crashed on the south side of the polluted city.

"I will take that risk. I want this planet under my rule and the people enslaved to me." Robotnik growled.
If Snively had a mirror to se his own face, he would see something greener than anything on Mobius. He was sick to his stomach. He knew this plan would fail. He knew this would burn up in his uncle's face, but Julian would listen to a waist of life like Snively.
"You look like you're going to lose your lunch Pinocchio." Packbell said.
"Look, I hate you, I wish you would die. If the Borg, my uncle, and you get killed and I don't, I will laugh." Snively said as he left the command center.
What none of them knew was that Geoffrey had been watching all of this, and he was now heading back to Knothole.

The next morning, most of the freedom fighters were listening to Geoffrey's accounts of what he saw last night. Sonic was sitting in his chair already in a bad mood for several different reasons. If Robotnik tries to reprogram them, then we are in trouble. However, they need a head-drone, someone to be a spokesman for them so it will be easier for them to take the planet. That person would be you, Princess Sally. Once you were made a head-drone, this planet would fall onto its knees." Sentinal said.
"Suggestions," Sally said.
"The Borg cannot adapt to the way me and Sonic fight. I can program a virus to shut them down. Once that happens, we can strip Robotnik of any Borg technology."
"That would take too long. They may know of the location of Knothole already. My group and I can surprise attack them tonight." Geoffrey said.
"Agreed, I'll join you." Sally said.
"That would be an unwarranted risk!" Sentinal said angered that St. John would make Sally panic like this and make rash decisions.
"Don't worry, I'm in good hands with Geoffrey." Sally said.
"I must disagree with this suicidal plan. Who will be in charge if you get assimilated." Sentinal asked.
"Sonic will," Sally said.
Five minutes later, all of them came out, Sentinal was more pissed than Sonic was at the beginning of the meeting. Sonic now went from angry to overly worried. The mission would not take place until the following night.

Later that night, Sonic, Sentinal, Bunnie, and Rotor were sitting around playing cards. Sonic, with his fast hands, was the dealer.
"Sometimes I think he stacks the deck." Sentinal said.

"I can, that idiot does not know what the hell he is getting into now. He wouldn't know a strategy if it came out his own ass. I would gladly hold him while you pull his head off. He made Sally panic and now they'll both be in trouble without us to help." Sentinal said.

"I have to agree with the both of them. If she gets assimilated then it is going to be Geoffrey's fault." Rotor said. The games went on for hours and then the players went to bed.

The next night, Sonic saw Geoffrey, his group of men, and Sally leaving Knothole.
"Well, you're in charge until she comes back. I doubt that she'll come back." Sentinal said.

"Good strategy, now what?" He asked.
"Start preparations to retreat to the Floating Island." Sonic said.
"If we retreat there, the Borg will find it more difficult to attack a floating fortress than a stationary target."
"If Knuckles does not like it, he can go to hell." Sonic said walking off.

"Sir, princess Sally and Geoffrey's freedom fighters are in the city." Snively said.
"Good, Packbell ready our surprise." Robotnik said.
"I still think we are in grave danger." Snively said.
"You are just paranoid, Borg drones, attack those freedom fighters and get princess Sally." Robotnik barked.

"Retreat!" he yelled and his men scattered away from the Borg. Geoffrey realized that this mistake may have cost him Sally, but right now he was not thinking clearly.

"Pencil-nose has a logical conclusion. Sonic, I believe, is better than he let's on. He acts stupid just to throw you off. Sally may not be able to meet this task, even with the Borg helping her." Packbell said.
"I can't believe that the most technologically advance race is weak against a mere hedgehog!" Robotnik yelled.
"We will see, start Assimulation process." Packbell coldly ordered. The drones did what they were told. A tear ran down Sally's face, and then she blacked out.

Early the next morning, the entire freedom fighter group from Knothole were now on the Floating Island. Knuckles was very pissed at what he heard from Sentinal.

"Partial power with minimum life support." the emeralds said.
"We may be able to get her off that thing. The Borg will have to regenerate." Sentinal said.
"Once we have her, you can destroy that thing." Sonic said.
"With pleasure," Knuckles said. It took only 5 minutes to get Lastator off that cube. "Emeralds, finish it," Knuckles said. The emeralds complied and the cube was destroyed.
"Your futile attempt is in vein," Lastator said as an even bigger cube came into the atmosphere.

"Nicole, is there away to destroy that cube?" Sentinal asked.
"Link me up with the drone. I will search through all of the Borg's commands." Nicole said. Sentinal did so, but there were over 500 million pathways and little time.
"Sleep,"

The next morning, Sentinal's censors did go off, and by the time the Death Egg got in range of the village all of the freedom fighters were gone.

"As I feared, they probably retreated to the Floating Island." Packbell said.

"We can't stand against that floating lump of rock. If we try, we will be destroyed in the process." Packbell said. Sonic had just arrived on the bridge. Snively went out the other turbo lift, knowing what would most likely happen.
"Yeah, we've got too much fire power for ya!" Sonic said spin dashing in between Robotnik and Packbell.
"So hedgehog, you come to me at last. Now you'll die." Robotnik said attacking Sonic with his weapons. Packbell had his problems trying to keep Sally from hacking threw the computer system and crashing it.
"I'm losing it over here!" Packbell said.
"Gotcha!" Robotnik said as a small missile hit Sonic. Normally and explosion would be the result of an attack like that, but a green light covered him. Apparently, the fat man had a warhead in that missile which irradiates its target with lethal doses of radiation.
"She's about to blow, get off the Death Egg now sir." Packbell said. Robotnik did, and Packbell was the only one left on the Death Egg. He new hat he could save the ship's systems, but he had his own plans. He only had a matter of moments to pull off whatever he was going to do. "I know you'll survive that blast. You are not that weak. So, good-bye!" Packbell said as he threw Sonic out of the doomship. Packbell walked over to the console and started to instruct the computer in the repairs. In a matter of seconds the Death Egg's systems came back on-line.

"Why hasn't the Death Egg gone up in smoke yet?" Sally asked.
"Attention Floating Island," Packbell said as he blasted Robotnik and Snively's pods with two phaser blasts, "Now I'm your ruler. Floating Island, you are not necessary in my plan of conquest." the Death Egg flew away from the island. All of the freedom fighters were angered , but Sally was not only angered but also concerned for her love. Her plan went up in smoke by an annoying android, plus she did not know where Sonic had been while all this was happening.
"I found him, but stay back, he's heavily poisoned by radiation." Sentinal said.
"Is he going to be all right?" Sally asked concerned for her lover.
"I'm taking him to the emerald chamber." Sentinal said disappearing into the interior of the island.

About an hour later, Sentinal took Sally to the chamber to see Sonic. What she saw was not good.
"He's incased in some sort of cocoon. The emeralds said that he is mutating but into what I don't know." Sentinal said.
"Is he still alive?" Sally asked trying to hold back the tears.
"Yes, but I can't tell what is going on in that cocoon."

A few nights later, Sentinal was waiting beside Sonic's cocoon. He then heard cracking from the shell. He waited as the shell cracked and opened up to let the hedgehog within back out into the world.. Sentinal took out his tricorder and was scanning the hedgehog that came out.
"It's Sonic, but he is a different sort of hedgehog! This is some weird shit." Sonic's body was about the same, except for the fifth finger and the green rings around his eyes. Sentinal scanned them and found them to be chaos emeralds.
"Hey, what's a hedgehog got to do to get some food around here?" Sonic moaned out. Sentinal ran out of the chamber yelling bring food for Sonic. Sally was the first to get into the chamber to see him.
"damn girl, I'm not leaving ya yet." Sonic said feeling an extremely tight hug from his lover.
"I like the new look." Sally commented as she rubbed the rings around Sonic's eyes. He got a cool numbing sensation from the contact.
"All right you horny lovebirds, no mating tonight, this island is going to find the Death Egg again and we're going to try it again!" Knuckles said
"He's right. Packbell is probably destroying the villages on the mainland. We'll be there tomorrow morning." Sentinal said.
"They're right, but make sure I get to test drive your body." Sally said.
"Damn, you've gotten so needy for me." Sonic said following her.

The next day, Packbell was flying towards the next target when his sensors picked up something very large coming right for him.
"No, they wouldn't," Packbell said.
"Yes we would," Sonic said from behind him. Packbell saw the hedgehog and was a little shocked to see Sonic in a different body.
"You've changed your shell. Now, I must see how you fight." Packbell said. The android was having trouble even touching Sonic. He had become much faster, almost a triplication of his speed. Before Packbell could obtain any sort of an advantage, he saw that the warp core was at critical.
"No!" Packbell yelled. He ran out and the Death Egg was finally destroyed. It was a victory, but it was costly on both sides.
