Avian's Powers

Vergil got up before Dante did that morning, remembering last nights conversation. He smiled then walked over to Avian's crib. Avian had woken up and was beaming at Vergil. Vergil picked Avian up and carried him downstairs for breakfast. Vergil placed his and Dante's son into the high chair and Avian just clapped happily. Avian by now had the silver hair and looked exactly like a smaller version of the twins. He was already two and could speak somewhat. His first words were 'daddy', 'bottle', 'hold me', and to their surprise 'bath time'.

Vergil went over to the stove and warmed a bottle for Avian. When the bottle was warm enough, Vergil took it over to Avian and the small child accepted it. Vergil in the meantime knew that if he cooked some breakfast for him and Dante, Dante would arise out of bed and see what the smell was. And sure enough, thirty minutes later, Dante came flying down the stairs and went straight to Vergil. Dante came up behind him and hugged him around the waist like he always did. Vergil told him to sit down and grab a plate that was set there already. Dante happily did as he was told and grabbed his plate. Vergil laid scrambled eggs down as well as bacon and friend apples. He then popped open the scotch and wine and sat the scotch next to himself and the wine next to Dante.

After breakfast was over, Dante lifted Avian up out of the high chair and placed him in the living room. Vergil sat on one side while Dante sat on the other so they could teach their son how to walk. "Verge, he might still be too young for this. He wobbles enough as it is." Dante warned as Avian started to fall.

"No he has to learn Dante, you keep on babying him and he'll never learn," Vergil replied, opening his arms as Avian leaned into them, giggling.

Avian looked into his father's eyes and said "I love you daddy," and snuggled into Vergil's chest.

"Okay Avian go back to your other father, do it for him like you did it for me," Vergil smiled at their son and released him to go to Dante. Dante opened his arms as Avian came back. Avian leaned into him and said the very same thing he said to Vergil. Dante picked Avian up underneath the arms and threw him into the air and caught him when he came back down.

"Avian is a rocketship!" Dante exclaimed as Avian fell safely once again into Dante's awaiting arms and giggled, liking it when he was thrown into the air. "That our boy Vergil, happy as ever and not a care in the world!"

Vergil laughed but then noticed Avian's body was glowing a dark royal purple. "Uh Dante..." Vergil pointed in the air before Dante caught Avian again and Dante looked up. Both their jaws dropped when Avian sprouted black wings and was apparently in his devil trigger form.

"Uh Verge...was he suppose to do that at this young of an age?" Dante questioned his twin elder brother.

"No, we didn't learn of ours until the age of six. How could've this have happened?" Vergil sighed and told Dante to pull Avian down, but to watch for the claws.

Dante did as he was told and pulled Avian down from the ceiling. "Come here you little rascal," Dante said and ruffled up Avian's hair. Avian transformed back and was knocked out from using the power. Both twins sighed and decided to put Avian back into the crib until later that evening.

Later that evening...

Dante, Vergil, and Avian pulled outside of an Italian restaurant and walked in while Dante carried Avian inside. Avian was still sleeping from earlier and Dante gently poked him awake. Avian broke into a scream and started crying, he didn't feel like being bothered. Vergil hissed at Dante "leave him be and we'll feed him when we get home."

Dante rolled his eyes and said "fine." As they walked into the restaurant, Vergil went up to the hostess and said "three of us are here." She just nodded and led them to a seat by a window.

She looked at them both and asked if they would like to try their finest wine and Vergil only complied with "yes we would." She walked away, to only come back seconds later with a bucket full of ice and a wine bottle sitting in it. "Would you like to taste it first sir?" She asked and Vergil nodded. She handed him a glass and he took a sip and said "very good."

"I'll be back soon to take your orders," She bowed and left to help other customers to be seated.

Vergil leaned back into the chair and looked at Dante sideways "so Dante see anything good?"

Dante wasn't paying attention and was staring outside the window, looking around at the city lights. As he watched them he muttered "beautiful" then turned to stare back at Vergil. "Sorry Verge, what did you say?"

Vergil seemed annoyed at this point and cooly reminded Dante of what he had just got done saying "so Dante, do you see anything good on the menu?"

Dante stuck his face into the menu and looked up smirking, "pizza" was all that came out of his mouth. Vergil just rolled his eyes and just decided to give Dante what he wanted instead of arguing. Vergil then put the menu up to his face and put it down again on the table.

The waitress came back and asked if they were ready to order and both nodded, Vergil was first to say "I will have the stromboli with salad and my brother here will have..." as he muttered in utter defeat "...pizza."

Dante then added "sausage pizza" and leaned back in his seat. The waitress told them she would be back with their orders in twenty minutes.

Dante then looked at Avian, who in fact was still asleep and leaned down to place a kiss on the child's forehead. Avian leaned sideways into Dante's right side and wrapped his arms around his father's waist. Dante smiled but tears welled in his eyes from pain. During a battle only four days ago, he had been injured and the wound hadn't healed just yet. He didn't tell Vergil that way he wouldn't worry.

Vergil looked at Dante and noticed tears welling up and cocked an eyebrow up. Dante noticed this and thought of something really quick "I'm just glad to have a son is all. He means the world to me." Vergil didn't believe that and decided to wait after dinner.

Dante and Vergil both got their fill and Vergil went to the front to pay the bill. While Dante went back to the 2003 Royal Blue Porche with Light Blue Vinyl flames over the hood and around the sides. Dante opened the left car door and buckled in Avian into the car seat, before sitting on the right hand passenger side and letting the seat glide back so he could rest his back and side. Vergil stepped into the drivers side and started up the engine. "Dante when we get home we need to talk" is all he said before turning on the radio and heading back to the penthouse, where he and Dante would have a very long talk.
