...Is a long road...

Leon stood beside Cid as they worked at the computersystem for Hollow Bastion. He wasn't a happy camper, all day long some errorcode or other had appeared and they couldn't get it to work normaly again.
He snorted as he heard what Cid was saying. The man had a really foul mouth.
It was a wonder that he married...
Leon stopped his thougths as he heard the laughter outside his home.

The lighter one was Aerith's, he knew that, he listened to it everyday, but the other one, he didn't recognize.Wondering he looked over to Cid who had looked up also.
Cid gazed to Leon before shrugging and going back to work.
Leon was going to go back also, when the frontdoor opened.

"... You see, this is where Leon lives now. Merlin has moved out not so long after you were gone!" Aerith was amused, Leon could see that clear as a sunny day when he looked at her.

Behind Aerith stood a person that Leon couldn't completly see, because he stood partly in the shadows.

Leon narrowed his eyes as he regarded the way Aerith was smiling, she was up to no good.

"Aerith, would you be so kind and introduce us to your new friend?" Leon ground out as no one was going to say something and he really liked to know, who this man was.

Cid hadn't moved, he still looked gobsmacked over to Aerith. She never brought home strangers.

Aerith giggled, the faces of these stoic man were priceless. She felt a push from behind and straightend herself.

"Well, this guy over there with the brown hair is Leon as you surely remember and the blond guy next to him is Cid, who should close his mouth."

Cid shut his mouth at once when he heard her words and narrowed his eyes.
Leon was going to demand who this guy behind Aerith was when he saw her warning look.

"Now, and this young, handsome man behind me is someone we all thought we weren't going to see again!"

Leon's eyes widened as Aerith stood to the side and let the stranger inside.
'This couldn't be...' was all Leon could think before Aerith said.
"May I introduce:
Sora Utada!"

Sora had his arms at his side as he grined at Leon and Cid.

"Hello Lucy, I am hoooooome....."

A lone blond man could be seen outside the highest tower at the Hollow Bastion castle.
He was in deep thought as he looked up in the dark sky.
His sword was in his hands as if was waiting for an enimy he knew wouldn't come.
The last ten years has been hard for him, he simply couldn't forget the young teenage boy who had wormed past his defences. Every night he would go to this place and remembere the way the boy used to laugh, the way his blue eyes would lite up whenever he was happy or the way he looked as he defeated the blond.

He knew that it wasn't healthy to want to live in the past but he couldn't change the fact that he fell in love with this boy and he couldn't help that he wished he could see this boy again...

With a sigh he turned around and went inside. He had to train so that his thoughts wouldn't go back to the boy...

Sora hadn't finished his greeting when Cid jumped up and went to him saying:
" Oh Shit! Kid are you really here? Man, you have to be kidding me! You're really back!"
And with that Sora was enveloped in a bonecrushing hug.
"Hey, Cid not so hard, I can't get any breath!"
Sora was laughing, he was delirious happy. He simply knew that he was home.

When Cid finaly stepped away Sora gazed at Leon with sad eyes.
He was afraid how Leon was going to take the news.

Leon in the meantime was in a stupor.
He simply couldn't belief what his eyes were showing him. His "little brother" was back.
He shook himself back out of the stupor and went to Sora. Funny, Sora wasn't little anymore, they were the same length.

Sora looked in the stromy grey eyes of his "big brother" and knew that tears were sprining into his own. All he wanted was to be hugged by Leon, but Leon did nothing but stare.
Sora felt his hopes falling and with a sigh went to turn around when he felt two strong arms around him.

Leon couldn't help but stare even as he saw the tears form in the blue eyes. As he saw that Sora was going to turn around he jumped into action and hugged his little brother...

Sora was happy whe he felt those arms around him. He grabbed Leon's shirt and hung on for dear life. The tears that prior to this were only in his eyes flowed over and soon Sora was sobbing like no other.

Cid looked like he had a stroke the way his mouth were opening and closing without a sound but Aerith was openly smilingg as he shushed Cid. She was one of the few people who knew that Sora and Leon had a special bond.

She remembered Sora explaining to her why they were like brothers and regarded each other like brothers.

He had said that Leon was the only person that came to his rooms at night to hold Sora if the boy had a nightmare again. Sora always thought that Leon was the only person he could confess to how hard it was to be away from home and your friends to search your best friend. She also knew that Leon was the only one who knew which person had stolen Sora's heart.

But it wasn't just Sora who found a brother in Leon, no.
Leon had found a little brother in Sora that he always wished for.
Leon had explained to her that Sora was the only one who would think it was ok to cry no matter how old you were. And that Sora was the only one who could make Leon laugh so hard that he "almost pissed himself", Leons words.

There has been a time when Aeith had thought that Leon and Sora were in love with each other but both, boy and man, quickly denied it and Sora admitted that he was in love with somebody else.
So they became brothers...

Aerith came out of her thoughts just as Leon stepped aside and led Sora to the living room.

"Here give me your jacket and sit down, you've got to tell us what has happened to you in these ten years we havn't seen each other."
Sora smiled at Leon as he took of his jacket and sat down.

"Well, where should I start? Ten years is a long time..."

"Start with the way your mother reacted as she saw you again."

Leon sat next to Sora on the couch whereas Aerith and Cid sat on the other.

"Okay. that's kind of confusing. You see, once we were all back and went home it was like nothing had happened. All what happened to us was like some kind of dream to me and you know, I've got memories of the time we were away but these memories are from the island."

At the confused looks Sora was getting, he tried to explain better.

"Okay, imagine you have a twin and your twin stays home when you are outside, but when you come home your twin vanishs and you've got the memories from the time you were out BUT also the memories from your twin when he was inside."

"Do you want to say that you've got memories where you never left the island in the fisrt place?" Aerith asked confused.

"Yes! Exactly! When I was home it was kind of like I never went in the first place. I knew what my mom was going to cook and I knew what homework I had to do. But I also remembered the time here and in the other worlds. I can tell you, I was totaly confused. The fisrt thing I did was call Riku and ask him. And know what?"

"What?" all three asked at the same time.

"He said I was crazy. He couldn't remember one thing, all he remembered was that he could detention because he was late at class. And Kairi the same. I called her and asked and nothing..."

"Oh, but why couls you remember?" asked Leon interessted.

"Well, I guess it's because of the keyblade. I've still got it. And that's the first thing I did once I finished the calls. I summomed the keyblade. It came to my hands as always and I knew that all what happened was real."

"Okay, that kind of explains why you remembered. The keyblade is an strong weapon and it protects its master."
Leon said contemplative.

"Yes that what king Mickey and I thought, too. But let me tell you, it was kind of hard to pretend it never happened.
The hardest times were when Riku would yell at me and say I was not trustworthy and would go dark someday!"

"Woah, wait a minute. Riku said that to YOU?" Cid yelled.

"Yepp, and I couldn't go and say: 'Hey riku, I wasn't the person who was gone to the darkside, that was YOU!' So I had to be quiet and suffer those stupid things."

"But what happened then? Did you two had an argument?" Aerith was sad, no one and espescially not Sora deserved what had happened.

"Nah. It wasn't an argument. I simply wouldn't talk to him after that and after Riku and Kairi started to go out I concentrated on school and my training."

"So, you and Kairi and Riku aren't friends anymore?" Sora nodded. "But what about your mom? Where is she?"

"Well my mom is at the island. She knew what happened to, I told her and showed her my keyblade but she wouldn't come with me. She said she were much to old for this shit and she was going to stay home and find herself a young boyfriend to have lots of sex with..." Sora laughed at the expressions on the faces before him. Yupp, his mother was crazy, but he loved her with his whole heart and wouldn't change her for all the money in the world, or all the worlds out there.

"Your mother is crazy! She really said that?" Leon asked haggardly.

"Yepp! That's my MOM! But anyway, let me finish.

You knew of course that I wasn't in love with Kairi because I happen to like men. So there I was, no friends because once Riku and Kairi said that I was crazy, Wakka, Tidus and Selphie wouldn't speak to me. So all I really had were my school and my keyblade. And that's what I did. I learnt like crazy and trained my body. You should have seen the faces of those 5 when I got the highest marks in school.

The best part was the one time when Riku tried to beat me to crap and I simply won against him. His face was hilarious."

Aerith stood and went to the kitchen, she guessed that Sora was thirsty.
She was sad because of Sora. He might have laught about this but she couls see the bitterness in his eyes. She knew that the others had seen it also.

Leon regarded Sora through sad eyes. No one deserved what Riku and the others had done to Sora. He saved them god damnit, and those ungratfull arses had treated Sora like he was crazy.

Cid thought the same as Leon and he swore if these kids were ever going to come in this world he would gladly kill them.

Sora thanked Aerith as she came back with a glass full of water.

"Okay afterI finished high-school I went to college and then to an University. I made a doctor in English and History and then went to visit the other islands."

"You are a doubble Phd?" asked Leon.

"Yepp! And it was fun, too. I shared a flat with some cool guys and one became my boyfriend but we aren't together anymore. It was just for fun."

"And what did you do next?" Cid was astounded. The kid from before was definitly a man now.

"Well, I wanted to go and buy me a house, but that's when a letter from king Mickey came by. He wrote me, that he found a way to travel to other worlds."

"but we thought that that wasn't possible." Aerith was disgruntled.

"Well, yes. Normaly you are right. but there seemed to be a way. You see, every world has two ways that conects it with an other but only a keyblademaster can open them. And only with an espescially key pendant. He found it and send it to me. So that's why I could travel to other worlds. But there was anoter problem."

"What was the problem Sora?" Leon became impatient.

"Well, the money of course! My mother and I weren't rich. But did you know, that the parents from my mother were the richest people on Destiny Island? I didn't. My mother never told me.
You see, she was the only child and should have married an other richt man, but my mother didn't want to. So she ran away with my father and married him. My grandparents disinherited her and wanted to never see her again. But what neither my mother or I knew was, that they knew about me and they didn't want to let their only grandchild live without money. So once they died I inherited all they had and that's a whole lot. So all problems solved.
I gave my mother one third of the money and all the esates and the rest I changed into monny. I had the key pendant and opened the way to the other world. I took some time to actualy come here but it was nice and certanly fun."

Finished, Sora sat back and looked at the others.

"Wow. Some kind of story you told us." Leon was surprised. But then why should he be, Sora had all kind of good luck charms, or so it seemed.

"Well what about you guys? What happened here?" Sora really wanted to know how the years had been to his friends.

"Hmm, okay. We finished the repair of the city as you certainly could see. I am now the governing mayor of the city and am enganged to Yuffie. Cid and Aerith here married 3 years ago..."Leon stopped because Sora was hysterical with laughter.

"My I ask what's so funny?" Cid was angry, how dare this kid laugh about this.

"Cid don't get your boxers in a twist. I am laughing because Yuffie now has to pay me 250 munny."

"What?" Sora laughed again as he saw the faces of the others.

"We had bet that you two get together but Yuffie wasn't sure when Leon would get his bearings together and ask her out."

"Oh that little...!" Yuffie would get hers when she came home, Leon was sure of it.

"Yes where is the great Ninja Yuffie? I thought she would be here. And where is Cloud? I really want to see him."

"Well Yuffie is at Merlin's. She is helping him out with something or other. And Cloud, well, he's..."

Leon couldn't finish because Aerith kicked him.

"Leon, I really don't think that it's ok to send Sora to Cloud, now. You know how he gets if he is interupted with his training."

"Aerith trust me, when I say, Cloud would be happy that Sora goes to him. I think Sora is the only one who can bring him back to us."

Aerith eyes widened as she understood what Leon meant. She knew that Leon was best friend with Cloud and Cloud would have said to Leon why he has changed so much during the last years.

She smiled at Sora who looked kind of confused.

"Well, Cloud's in the castle tower, you know the highest?"

Sora could only nod. He was sure he missed something just then but he couldn't figure out what.

"Okay, you should go then and greet him. I am sure he will be happy. Hey maybe you could train with him."

Sora was dizzy. He knew, no, he KNEW that that was meant as some kind of warning but he didn't understood.

Oh, well, that certainly didn't stop him from visiting Cloud.

So that's how Sora found himself outside Leon's place with his jacket in his hands and starring at the closed door.

Shrugging, Sora got his jacket on and with his hands in his pockets was on his way to the castle and Cloud...

I hope you liked it. I certainly did. I think it was much better than the first.

I must say this english version is totaly different than the german version.
As I was writing I thought 'This isn't good, there aren't explanations why certain things happened, and so forth,' so I changed it.
Now it's much better than the german.

But i really like to know your opinion,
So review pleaaaaaase *Puppydogeyes*
