Kalas likes Lyude

Xelha bugged him. It wasn't that she wasn't pretty. She was, once you got used to her baggy butt shorts and the excess of pink she always wore. It also wasn't that she was snotty. She was actually pretty damn nice for a queen. It was that she was in love with him and expected him to return those feelings. Xelha was a nice girl, a kind girl, a fucking good Queen and a courageous fighter for all that was right in the world. But she wasn't what he wanted.

Neither was Savyna. When he first saw Miss Lady Death he had been blown away. Where the hell were her pants? Damn she's got a lot of cleavage for a warrior! But that faded soon. While she'd been the subject of at least one wonderful dream, he respected her far too much on the battlefield to see her sexually. Besides, he didn't like older woman much. He wasn't the type to be babied.

As for Mizuti... Let's just say we'll leave her with Kee. Kalas didn't even want to think about her as a her, and if he did he wanted to think of her as a very young, very taken her that would never be in his scope of attractive females.

No, the woman of the group didn't interest him. Nor did the woman of the passing villages. He'd grown sick of Trill by age 15, Melodia was too domineering for him, and every other woman he met was either a bitch from living in the city, a bitch for wanting to live in the city, married or a farm hand. And the farm hands usually stank like nothing.

So Kalas was alone, and as a result was quite frustrated. He refused to just be with any woman. He was a jerk but he wasn't an ass. He wanted something at least semi permanent, something that he could come back to. If only he could find someone very girly, yet with an almost masculine pride, someone with baggage too who wasn't afraid to show it, someone not afraid to cry like a little baby and then pick up a gun and figh---

Wait, gun? No. He'd had this thought before. He wasn't like that. He wouldn't even entertain the idea. Kalas was a guy. He needed a girl, not a girly man. Yes, Lyude was, personality wise, what he wanted, and yes he was available. But it wasn't for him. Pretty as Lyude was... No, he shouldn't think of him as pretty. Lyude was handsome, sort of a girly, pretty handsome... dammit! He had to think of something else. They were just starting out on the road to Pherkad and he had to be alert at the Nunki River Passage. Granted, he could kill those monsters with his eyes closed by now, but still, he shouldn't let himself daydream. He especially shouldn't let himself daydream about Lyude. It was enough that he kept dreaming about him at night.
