Chapter 2

Oh my, for those of you who hasn't read the other parts of my writing, it actally has more than one chapter! It's not a one-shot, I merely made it that way to see how many people I could tick off! x__x I was unsuccessful too...

Jade Tokier - Sorry if Dante's death pisses you off or something. I don't know why I killed him. Has to do with storyline I guess. I'm not even sure if I'll finish this fanfic. I was writing it, and all of a sudden it looked like it sucked.

Morwen - Well.... I wasn't going to leave it around for weeks. It seems not many like it anyway. (Dante: >< DUH! You killed me, I'm the hotness you know!) Shut up, Dante.. Well, I didn't even want to continue, but here.

I must also thank VergilSparda666, dare I say he (well, she..) is my idol! I love his (er.. her?) DMC twINcest fanfics!! And like K-san, and Pen-san, he (her?) is one of my greatest inspirations! They're the reason I post my crap up.

DEATH LIFE: ONE DAY AFTER FIGHT

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dante had been rejected from heaven, so he obviously went to hell. He stepped towards the gates, meeting Cerberus on the way.

“Well, hey old buddy,” the three heads were prepared to snap and bark at the hunter, but immediately recognized the voice and closed their jaws.

“Master?”

“Yeah, I guess you could say that.”

“What are you doing in the Underworld?”

“Nothing much, just going to hang around. I wonder if they’ve got bars in hell.”

“Bars?”

“Nevermind Cerb, you wouldn’t get it. Well, you gonna let me pass or what?”

“Of course. My respect for you has not ceased,” and with that, Cerberus backed down to wait for the next unfortunate victim to cross his path.

Dante huffed and passed through the portal beyond the gates that sent him to hell, literally.

A familiar purple-clad jester appeared in front of him on the other side, namely, Jester.

“Ah, if it isn’t the little Devil Boy! Come to join us, I see?”

“Cut the act, Arkham,” Dante said coolly.

Jester leapt behind Dante, and when Dante turned around he saw Arkham.

“I’ve been sent to give you an invitation.”

“Not another one. Last time you gave me an invitation, it resulted in my office being torn apart.”

“You’ve been invited to the R.D. Festival.”

“And that would be…”

“A festival. You’ll know when you get there. Here’s the map to R.D. Fest.”

“Thanks?” Dante said unsurely. Arkham walked out of Dante’s field of view and Jester came leaping from the same side.

“’Til next time, Devil Boy!” and Jester disappeared into the distance.

“Well he still has a bigger mouth than ever. Some things never change,” Dante looked at the map again, “Well there’s nothing else to do. Might as well,” and he set off for R.D. Fest.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Well, well. I see the Sparda runt has finally decided to join us,” Dante looked up at the giant talking statue of Mundus.

“What a way to greet your guest.”

“You’d better go in, runt. Or we might change our mind about inviting you.”

“What difference would it make?” Dante said while shrugging and walked through the giant double doors that opened in front of him. Mundus followed behind him.

“Welcome, Dante Sparda,” Mundus announced.

“Some festival. Sure is lonely down here.”

“We’ve been waiting for ten years, Sparda runt. And now we can finally have it,” Mundus boomed.

“What do you have?”

“Remember all the demons you’ve killed since Temen-ni-gru?”

“Yeah…?”

“So many, right? Over thousands.”

“So…? Your point?”

“A number of them seemed to have developed a liking to you.”

“You’re telling me they had a sudden change of heart? Dream on, Mundus.”

“Welcome to the end of your freedom, and the beginning of your deathlife sentence.”

Multiple glowing eyes appeared from the darkness before them. Dante sweat-dropped. His eyes widened as a red-haired, giant, muscular demon leapt at him and pinned him to the ground, straddling his hips to prevent him from kicking and holding down his wrists. The giant must have been over seven feet tall.

“Remember me…?” the demon bellowed.

Dante looked completely clueless.

“…small fry?” the demon had this glint in his eyes. Smoke trailed off his body.

“Ph-phantom!”

“Bingo,” Dante tried not to scream as the humanoid Phantom’s hands singed his wrists.

“Great, I know who you are. Now get off of me.”

“Do you know what R.D. Fest stands for?”
