By Winterinmyheart and SinfulBlessing
Back in the late 60’s, during a time of drugs and hippies, a small town called Silent Hill was dealing with a strange disease. Peopl e across the town seemed to be going missing. Others in the town were going crazy. In order to protect the people of their small town, city officials built on of the first of a few mental asylums in their area. Cedar Grove, a place for all of these people to find a safe heaven. The most famous patient ever sent to Cedar Grove was that of Helen Grady. A woman who tried to kill herself and her child, referring to the boy as a demon. Her case was fairly unique as she thought she could disappear through the mirrors. After reaccuring deaths in Cedar Grove, the place shut down in the late seventies.
Cedar Grove then sat for years in it’s own ruin. Collecting dust and waiting for it’s reopening.
Then, by coincedence, a man by the name of Albert Wesker stopped in the resort town. He was looking for a good spot for a new facility. When he spotted the run down building an idea came to mind. A mental asylum would be the perfect cover for what he was really up to. After having talked to city officials, he found that the town was the center of all sorts of strange things. Finding this to be perfect, he promptly bought the old asylum.
The place wasn’t in horrible condition, however, rennovations were needed in some areas. The building had been abandoned for years, so it naturally drew in teenagers. Graffiti was all over the walls and broken liquor bottles littered the floor. There were leaks in the pipes and plenty of busted down doors. Many a trespasser came here looking for a “hookup”.
Then Wesker hired people for the rennovations. It took a while to find people who met the right specifications. Their names weren’t important, they were just hired hands who would hopefully only be around for a short period of time. They didn’t seem to mind the treatment that Wesker gave them. After all, he was paying them a lot of money. Anything could be bought for the right price, at least, that was what Wesker had always believed. Each person had been assigned a specific job. Though everyone chipped in on cleaning out the heaps of trash that had built up there over time. Bags full had been unloaded for months. Bottles, papers, furniture, and files from the old patients had been cleaned out. It was a slow process but it was worth it in the end.
Next came fixing the place up. The doors were repaired as well as the old pipes. Another floor was added underneath the building. This was where the important things were to happen; the lab. It was fairly large and equipment was moved in. The rennovations were done in about a year and a half. It was wonderful when it was complete. It meant that Wesker didn’t have to deal with any of them anymore. Now came hiring the staff. He already had a few picked out.
First was Steve Burnside. A boy who was infected in Antartica, with the T-Veronica. By all rights he should have been dead. Albert Wesker found use for him, and he proved to be a good field agent. He brought the boy back from the grave, activating the virus in his veins. Though the older tyrant didn’t always appreciate his additute, the two surprisingly got along fairly well. At this new facility the boy would work as an orderly. Easy enough and Wesker wouldn’t have to worry about him scrrewing things up.
The second was a long time friend of Weskers, William Birkin. A man who almost single handedly created the G-Virus. Though he was shot down during the events of Raccoon City. During the mans assasination, he had injected himself with the G-virus. This caused the rest of the city to follow suite with the infection of the T-virus. Which created a city of undead or zombies. After the train blew up, the G-virus healed up the body one last time before reverting the body to normal. Wesker had thought he was dead until he found him in one ofUmbrella’s other labs. In Cedar Grove, William was to play doctor. Which meant he would see less of the patients, Wesker thought that was a good idea. The man had quite the temper, and Wesker didn’t want to deal with anyone dying. Not when they were supposed to be “helping” the patients.
The third was Nicholai Ginovaef, a former UBCS member. He was also in Raccoon City during the outbreak. It was thought that he was killed by a creature called Nemesis. Though his wounds he sustained were terrible, Nicholai was able to get out of Raccoon before it blew up. An infection now oursed through his veins. When it was discovered that he was still alive, Wesker approached him with an offer and a lot of money. Nicholai gladly accepted the role of security guard.
Another was Jack Krauser. He had been working for Wesker for quite a while. A field agent who had betrayed the American Government. He had gone on a mission where no one thought he would live. Though he did, much to everyone’s surprise. Always loyal to Wesker, he followed suit as another security guard.
The fifth was the lovely Ada Wong. She had proven herself many times in the past, but Wesker still wasn’t sure he could trust her. Especially after that stunt in Spain. Though Wesker had forgiven her when she came crawling back, he still hadn’t forgotten the incident. She would be a therapist, working right below him so he could keep an eye on her.
The last was agent HUNK. A mysterious man who was the best for any job. After the fall, Wesker had taken the man in. Though, not without a bit of coaxing. Wesker decided he was perfect for the head of security. Which meant both Krauser and Nicholai would report straight to him before he would report to Wesker. After they all arrived, they each received a list of duties. Things they were each supposed to do on a daily basis while they did their normal duties from before. Wesker was fully prepared but he did not want to deal with another Raccoon City.
For a nurse or orderly like Steve, he would mostly give out medication. He would also help the dorcotrs and therapists if need be. Nurses should have a knowledge of all of the patients and their history. They should also be prepared to control them properly. He will be carrying out hourly checks on the patients, day and night. Someone like Steve will be the ones supervising group therapy. A Doctors job is to make sure the patients are kept healthy. Which includes weighing them, taking blood samples as well as ordinary check ups. They are the ones who will take care of the medication and injuries of the patients. In Williams case, he will also be using the patients as test subjects. Hopefully the patients will stay oblivious.
A therapist will be the one the patients speak to daily. Whether they want to or not. They will be the ones who help the patients through their problems until they are better. Yet they may never leave. Security on the other hand is pretty self-explanitary. They will be monitoring everything twety four seven through well placed cameras. They will be outside the entrances at all times. They will be patrolling the halls and checking on patients. They will be standing watch during the meals or during group therapy. They are allowed to confinscate anything from the patients that may cause them harm. They are also allowed to go through themail that is to come to Cedar Grove.
After all of this was done and Wesker made sure everyone understood their jobs, Wesker went through paperwork. This couldn’t work unless he did have the patients. Of course, Wesker really only wanted the worst, but he had to bring them all in. It would be a small group for now, but he knew eventually it would get bigger. When the patients did arrive, everyone got down to business. Wesker hoped this was as good of a decision as he had thought in the beginning.
