Life in the Fast Lane
See Chapter 1 Disclaimer- Pretend there is another one here. However there is something we need to discuss in this chapter, this section will cover what you need to know about the world of Aberrant, and the variation that I am using. If you know aberrant, it may still be, who am I kidding; it is still important for you to read this as I have accelerated the time line and modified most of the important factions.
Session Two – Life in the Fast Lane.
The Factions.
Project Utopia – the child of the Aeon Society, as formalized by the United Nations; their goal is to use the labors of both human and nova alike to improve the quality of life across the board. Utopia also promotes human and nova acceptance, peace, and prosperity for all. This organization is as far as the public is concerned, spotless and without blame.
The Directive – a joint operation between the words super powers, created to police the actions of Project Utopia. Heavily influenced by the super powers militaries, The Directive operates like a top secret military police organization. The public of the world is largely unaware of their existence, though some conspiracy theorists claim otherwise. The Directive has also been given another goal, to seek out novas that are wanted for high crimes and bring them to justice.
Project Proteus – whispered fearfully on the lips of conspiracy theorists and novas alike, Proteus is the proverbial boogieman of this time. No one but the most eccentric or knowledgeable people even think Proteus really exists. A rare few however, are quite convinced of its existence and firmly believe that it is the sole reason that Project Utopia is hiding many of its actions.
Aberrant Movement – this organization is largely unknown at this time, all but Proteus and The Directive know nothing of it. This organization as led by novas André Corbin and Sophia Rousseau, the Aberrants seek to expose Utopia or at least cleanse it of corruption. This organization is very recent, and only boasts about a dozen or so members.
The Elites – Mercenary Novas who will do anything for the right price. Elites have a certain code of ethics, while odd to most people, it is extremely important to them. They are the best firepower that money can buy, but they never come cheap. If you have a job, and don’t mind lawsuits, media coverage, and a damage list half a mile long; Elites are your best shot.
Novas – Not an group per se, but they account for ten percent of the world’s population. Novas are a sub-specie of humans, Homo Sapiens-Novus, who due to a unique physiology can manipulate the quantum forces of the universe. Superheroes who can literally break the laws of reality with their powers, these are the reason the world has advanced as far as it has.
Supernovas – out of a thousand Novas there is a possibility of a Supernova and out of every one-hundred possible only one survives. Whereas Novas are extremely powerful compared to normal humans, Supernovas are such to Novas. A Supernova nearly dies in his or her eruption; few regain consciousness within a week of their eruption.
A/N – Very sorry for this plot less chapter, but this was necessary to explain the factions the story will be dealing with. I will upload a plot based chapter as soon as I get it done… chances are this and several other chapters will be uploaded at once.
