Chapter Two

The first thing that Roan noticed when he woke was the throbbing pain that hammered throughout his head. He couldn't remember what happened. Where was he anyway?

He tried to push himself up from the … soft bed? … he was occupying but failed. It was then he realised that his hands were bound tightly together with a thick rope that made his wrists itch. He pulled at the rope but it caused it to itch and cut into his wrists. Where was he? How had he gotten here?

His eyes widened.

He -- they had all fallen through the ground! So where was the others. Where were Ryudo, Elena and Mareg? Were they here also or had they not been captured, which is what he assumed had happened to him.

He also remembered Elena saying something about private property. Maybe they had been caught by the landowners and were now facing trial? How much would they have to pay? They only picked up so much money along they way and it would more less than likely enough to pay off a debt for trespassing. In certain areas, trespassing was a serious offence and it was obvious they had been caught in one of those areas.

Roan slowly began to sit up and shuffled backwards against the headboard. He looked around. Wherever he was, the owner must be rather wealthy considering the largeness of the room and the spectacular appearance. The bed was a large, four-poster bed with, what he assumed was silk from the feel under his legs and hands. It had to be, no material was this soft. His blue eyes wandered the room, the décor was beautiful. Pictures hung graciously from the walls, the fireplace was gold-coated and the carpet was a rich red. All the finely made furniture was handcrafted with swirling grooves, which, like with the fireplace, was coated in gold.

He scrunched his nose as a scent tickled him. ‘Lavender...’ It was lavender that he smelt. He smiled softly, his father once told him that lavender was his mother's favourite scent, so whenever Roan smelt it, he was reminded of her.

'Why would I be brought to such a fine place? I would not expect people who commit an act as trespassing to be treated with such grace. I wonder where the others are?'

The innocent blond shook his head and blew when several strands of hair fell into his eyes. He momentarily forgot about his hands being bound and pulled hard, causing him to hiss in pain. If he kept doing that it wouldn't take long for the robe to sever his wrists completely. Why did the rope have to be so uncomfortable and rough?

'I was caught trespassing and I'm complaining about the rope…'

The strands were more than annoying him. He had no problem with his hair being long, but he never expected that he would be sitting on a soft bed with his hands bound.

Roan sighed, giving up.

The door was slowly pushed open with a soft creek and Roan heard it being locked again. Somebody was walking towards him and he certainly didn't like the look of the larger man.

The man that walked in was clad in a clean-cut, double-breasted white suit with golden buttons. His long, pale face was mature with beady green eyes and crooked nose. The man's hair was short cut and a fiery colour. But the smile he gave Roan made the boy's insides turn, wishing that the man had never walked in. He was a basic man with a normal build, being much taller than Roan, but the blond was only small, considering his age.

“Ah, I see you've finally woken, angel,” he said in a mocking voice, deep with an appalling accent.

Roan's eyes widened. Had this man just called him 'angel'?

He walked with heavy footsteps over the bed and sat down next to Roan. He licked his lips and pushed back the strands of soft hair that fell into Roan's eyes, caressing his cheeks and running a line down his neck, stroking gently.

“W-what do you want?” Roan asked, shocked, trying to pull away from the man.

The man smiled, none too pleasantly either, and let his hands fall to his sides.

“Oh, how rude of me. Doing such things when we haven't even been properly introduced. My name is Diego and I run a business here. You were caught trespassing on my property and, if you couldn't read the sigh, anyone will be prosecuted.”

“Where are my friends?” he said, sternly. It was the only way he could hide the shiver of being so close to this man, it scared him but he needed to be strong and not let this 'Diego' character know he was scared.

“Don't worry, angel, they're … comfortable,” he laughed.

“If you've…”

“How considerate, putting others before yourself. I'm sure your friends would be thinking of what was going to happen to them … if they were in your position.”

Roan swallowed hard, his throat suddenly becoming very dry. What did he mean by that? What was going to happen?

Diego leaned forward, crushing Roan's body as he pushed his lips to his ears. “I think you know what's going to happen, angel,” he whispered in a husky voice. He nibbled Roan's ears and took pleasure in the shocked gasp that emitted from his mouth.

He stood up and walked around the bed. Licking his lips, Diego proceeded to move forward towards the young boy that sat, whimpering, on the bed. Roan was beautiful in the man's small eyes, a pure and innocent angel. 'Well, he won't be after I've done with him,' he laughed to himself. He continued to stare at the boy, using his eyes to undress him. He took in the soft features: silken blond hair, bright blue eyes, and soft skin that cried out to be caressed. He was no more than a child, but he was tempting and the man couldn't hold back his urges any longer.

Seeing Roan tremble was enough to arouse Diego. 'I bet he's still a virgin, which would make it more of a privilege for me,' he grinned.

“Angel, come here!” he commanded, using his hand to order the blond. “Quickly, or do I have to take it out on your friends? They're still very much unconscious and know nothing of what is going to happen to you.”

The blue-eyed boy swallowed. How had he gotten himself into this mess? The route that they travelled seemed not so much a trap. Why didn't Ryudo listen to him? What did this man want anyway? The man scared the boy. He was strong and he wouldn't back down whenever he was needed, but this was different. He was bound with no weapons and wasn't able to use magic to aid him either.

This man, Diego … Roan knew the intentions he had for him and used his friends as bait to blackmailing him into what was going to happen. 'What is going to happen? It sounds so much more better than saying that he's going to … rape … me…'

It really was as simple as that. Diego wanted it. When he first laid eyes on the boy he knew he'd be perfect for him. Roan's angelic features would bring him money. Many would pay to have the boy, both male and female, he suspected.

“Accidents will happen, my sweet little angel. Accidents that involve the sudden death of those you travel with…”

“Please, don't do this,” it was the first thing Roan had said in minutes. He hadn't the voice to do so before. He was ashamed that he was grovelling like this, but he didn't want to…

“Now, now. You know what to do, don't you? If you do a good enough job, I'll reward you,” he smiled, disgustingly.

“You are nothing but a sick, perverted, bastard!” the blond spat, his eyes narrowing.

“Now, now. Such words do not suit such a innocent being.”

“You disgust me!”

The man walked closer, licking his lips as he spoke in a low voice.

“But you arouse me. Now, are we going to sit around and chat or are we going to do what I brought you here for?”

“What do you want? Why me?” he asked.

The man smirked. Such innocence in the boy's nature. Even after today, the blond will still be as innocent as the day he was born.

“I will be honest, but only because I've taken a shine to you. I run a business, like any respectful man, but my business is a little more … what's the word? More convenient for everyday needs and,” he laughed, “… desires…”

This caused Roan's eyes to widen and he wished he were as far away from here as possible. No, it wasn't possible. 'Please tell me this man doesn't want me to…'

“So, now you understand. But, I want to see how sweet you taste before letting other customers sample you.”

“You cannot do that! I will not let you, not against my will!”

“I think you will change your mind very shortly, my dear little angel … very shortly indeed.”

“Nothing you do will make me submit to a monster like you!”

Roan's eyes narrowed as he shuffled on the bed. He would not give himself to this … this monster. There had to be a way to stop it. Maybe this was just a dream -- more like a nightmare -- that he could wake up from. He would rather wake up in the middle of the night, cold and shivering, than letting Diego do what he wanted.

Diego laughed at Roan's pitiful attempts of intimidating him. Innocent and pure, yet fiery and determined at the same time.

“You don't really have a choice, angel. You're not in the position to be threatening me. I will have you in only a matter of minutes.”

To be continued…
