Walk in the Underdark
Time passes, and Zarek does indeed lived a hard life, but he has two things that keep him going. His mother deep love for him, and his Uncle Dimitri’s stories of when he was a thief. Zarek slowly trains himself so that he can become the greatest of rogues. He trained himself daily beakieaking into his neighbor houses moving around there furniture, and then escape through the windows and rush across the roof tops back to his mother in time for lunch. But upon his eleventh birthday, the villagers wanted to slaughter the poor boy, because now his demonic traits where quite obvious. And on that Night he would have to flee.
Dimitri looked around in the darkness of the night while everyone was going to his sisters house looking for Zarek the two of them where running oo tho the opposite side of town.
“Zarek you have to understand that you’ll have to take care of yourself now.” He looked at his nephew, his silver locks, his amber eyes, his horns. And an idea struck.
“Zarek listen to me, I want you to take my hat, I stole it from a wizard long ago, never take it off unless you know you can trust these people, hide in a cave if the village find out what you are, no one dares go into the underdark.” Zarek put on the frompy hat; it’s wide brim hid his face so his uncle couldn’t see him cry. “Remember no matter what that you mother loves you, and just because you’re tiefling does not mean you will end up like your father.” the yells of the angry mob was where getting louder. “Now hide!”

Eight years, and a couple of months later.
This was the forth time this month that Zarek would be sleeping in a cave to avoid the people. To many people recognized his trade mark hat and it gave him away as a thief. He and the hat had both seen better days, but the hat seemed to show all the pain they had shared. It had become hideous after all those years, Zarek had forgotten if the hat was grey or green and which ones where the stains, and it also looked like and ogre had stepped on it from Zarek never taking it off even to sleep.
Years of hiding in caves had made Zarek quite comfortable in them; he could sleep like a baby in one, and never fall asleep on a soft feather bed. Unfortunately tonight Zarek had picked the wrong cave to fall asleep in. It was amazing what some people could sleep through, such as being dragged across a floor, or being stripped of all there belongings, and then being chained up. Zarek didn’t even wake up when his captor had cracked her whip. She then used her whip to take the hat off his head. He blinked twice and then looked at his captor.
He had heard about drow but never seen one before, her skin was as darkcharcharcoal, as he would be told, and she was very lovely and had white hair. But then he remembered all of the horrible stories he heard about drow and decided not to let her appearance confuse him. Then he realized he was tied up, and naked. She grinned to him as she put down here whip and looked over her tools for torture, and then she spoke to him, “I was very excited when we first found you, your ears where pointed slightly so I was hoping I’d get to torture a half-breed of those surface dwellers, then we found your tail.” she laughed softly for a minute as she picked up a corkscrew like deviremeremembering how the dwarf she used it on last screamed. She returned her attention to her guest.
“Then I remembered the stories I heard of some humans having children with marks of creatures from realms,” she thought about it trying to think of the appropriate word in the common tongue. “Unholy.” She picked up another device this one looked like a bottle opener; she liked to start off with this one and use it to peel off her victims finger nails. She put it down gently and lovingly, and then picked up another device.
Zarek wasn’t sure if he should talk back, he was hoping that she’d leave soon so that he could hopefully escape from here, he was glad they left his belongings in a pile. Then he noticed the new device, it worried him because it looked familiar some how, but he couldn’t quite remember how. She then put it down on a table.
“Well, I hope for your sake that you will be more durable then the last three.” she grinned and pulled lever and Zarek was slowly lowered until he could look her in the eyes. “And if I like you, I’ll keep you as my personal slave.” She then kissed him.
Now for Zarek’s first kiss it was very upsetting because he expected he’d kiss some one who he liked, and didn’t have the habit of biting his lower lip. He could taste copper in his mouth now and as she steppway way to speak, he spit at her. She wiped the mixture of spit and blood from her eyes. She then just smiled whispered to him like she was his lover, “Now, dear, maybe I’ll have to teach you to respect Me.” she then grabbed the device from before. And she began to strap it on to her self with leather straps around her waist and legs, at this moment Zarek realized what it was and everything went to black.

“Why’d we even drag him all this way?”
“Because we’d want him to do the same for us if we where ever in his position.”
“I doubt that would ever happen elves have bad taste in men. I mean look at him he doesn’t even have a beard!”
Zarek woke up a little with bad head ache and a lot of pain his body. He noticed he was being carried by two people whom kept arguing, he was glad to see that he was outside now. Then he remembered that he was a wanted criminal. He slid his arms and legs out of their grip with ease fell to the ground and rolled and then got back up on his feet, and then reached for his rapier and took a firm grasp of nothing. He tried not to panic, at least this time he was clothed, he looked between his two opponents, both where dwarves. He at least had an advantage in speed.
Just as he was about to run away, the louder of the two dwarves tackled him.
“Now, now! Not very nice to run away from people that saved ya, now is it?”
“Get off him!” Zarek realized the beardless dwarf was a woman and practiclly ripped the other dwarf off of him. “I’m sorry for his behavior,” she then dropped Zarek belongings, his rapier, his daggers, his coat and his hat, which he snatched up quickly and put back on. As he was putting his coat on and putting back all of his weapons on him, he realized that these two had rescued him.
“I’m sorry… it’s just that after being captured like that I was worried,” she interrupted quickly. “Just say thank you and we can all be on our way, we just didn’t want those damn dark elves to have you.”
“Thank you.” He felt like an idiot saying those words, and then just letting the two of them walk away. He was alone again, never to be understood, never to have friends. He shook his head and remembered that he shoult mot moving. He looked around to see i cou could spot a road and follow it, and continue on with his life as an outcast.
