Revelations
Tasha was exhausted. She'd spent most of the day gathering the materials for a cloak the chiefs advisor had sworn would shield her from the prying eyes of the ...beings...within the temple. She'd been right for the most part. One of the beings though had seen her and attacked her, viciously, enough that she'd had to pause, recloak herself after the fight and huddle there healing slowly. She'd taken her time making her way thru the place, sneaking at several places, til she was sure she'd seen all she was asked to. Then just as quietly made her way towards the entrance.
Just a little short she stopped. There in a corner was a man that she'd heard rumors about. A man, monster really, that was responsible for insane and incredible things. The reanimation of abominal creatures. The conversion of the good, to the side of evil. It was a sign she thought, one that she felt she couldn't ignore.
With her totems set she flung lightning at him, and again and again as he ran towards her, finishing the barrage with a blast of frost shock. He slowed, still running at her and she hit him with her mace, the spell cast upon the head made him shudder again. Within moments though he lay at her feet, quite dead and looking just as evil as he had in life. She rifled his pockets, checking for information for the upcoming battles against the nearby scourge and then cloaked herself once more before running for the gates.
Once outside the moved to a place tenuously called safe and went thru what she'd found. A vial, nothing important as it was empty. A few coins, a few rags, a scrap of cloth wrapped about....a small bundle of paper. She unwrapped it and began to read pages at random.
Day 46, The recruiting drive, as the self named overlord called it, has been a success. He was pleased that my 'recruited' slaves were so effective and that of course bolstered his men's confidence. Many more now are rallying to his cause, which pleases Lord Arthas. Little does this unfathomably stupid troll realise, my Lord is using him as just another gaming piece against the combined forces of the Alliance and the Horde. Once this area is contained and controlled this beast will be destroyed as others have been before him.
She wrinkled her brow, this was important but she couldn't help but read further.
The day is unimportant, this is a momumentous occassion though. My Lord Arthas has informed me that our campaign is near to completion. My experiments with mind controlling the trolls here within Zul'Drak have been nothing short of incredible and the alterations done physically to the test subjects show just how far we can truly go in the future with a little more research. And I found the perfect replacement for that self proclaimed overlord. Over the last week I have been tinkering with him, physically and mentally. Most of the first few days was spent finding the weakness within his mind, seeking the one thing he most wanted. Then it was a simple matter of telling him 'he was defending his sisters' by doing what I needed of him. Tonight though I was proud of my work. Replacing Drakuru with this puppet I have given my Lord nothing but glory and honor.
She leafed further thru the pages.
I have had to further condition the puppet today. He was remembering the names of his sisters and his best friend, asking after them. I explained to him with a patience I could barely fathom I had that they were prisoners, that his continuing to do what I needed of him would ensure their safe freedom as a group of his men were about to leave to rescue them. He faltered there, just briefly before succumbing to the conditioning, murmuring several words in what sounded like Darkspear. The names "Eyemon" and "Teejah" mentioned. I have given these names to a spy within the Horde, asking him to seek these people out and make sure of their deaths
She felt her face pale as the papers fell to the ground.
