Sora's decision

Sorry for the long update, was busy with tons of things!! Hope you enjoy this short chapter ^-^"

Sora and Cloud spent the morning and the better part of the afternoon talking about all that had happened in their lives since they last spoke with one another. Sora waited until the end to speak more in depth about becoming a great magus. The details didn’t please Cloud very much; the last thing he wanted was for his younger brother to be in any sort of danger. He kept a poker face all through the explanation, something that frustrated and worried Sora. Cloud used this face when he was deep in thought and if the situation was serious. That is when Sora realized that Riku had that same thing. He remained silent and in thought of Riku as Cloud thought about what to do.

“So…what did you want me to say?”

“Wha-? Well I wanted your advice on this,” Sora was a little taken aback at the tone; it was void of any discernable emotion, one that he hadn’t heard in a while.

“I hate the idea Sora but I love it as well. I think it is a very good opportunity for you, to be a Great Magus is something rare and amazing, especially since both current one’s are old, another needs to take their place. I hate the idea though because…the final temple is dangerous and the last thing I want is for you to be in danger. I think your mind is made up, the way you were talking about it…you seemed…excited. If you choose to go on with this then I will be going with you. There is no way I’m allowing you to get hurt out there, not if I can help it.”

Cloud’s face was full of determination and this brought a smile to Sora. He felt relieved and joyful that his brother would becoming with him and that Cloud was in this same predicament as he was at the moment. Now he knew he wouldn’t be alone on this journey and being with Merlin after a while made the younger bored. He loved his teacher but he also liked talking with a lot of different people.

“Thanks, Cloud. I hope you don’t regret this decision though. Hey! What about the shop? What will happen to it in your absence?” Sora looked at Cloud with another worried expression.

“Don’t you worry about that,” Cloud smiled at the younger, “Uncle Cid can take over until we get back.”

“Do you think he’d mind?”

“No, not at all. Besides he was the one that taught me weapon making and I think he’s getting tired of his job right now. This will be a relief to him.”

“Yeah,” Sora smiled and stood up. He stretched his muscles out, after sitting for hours he felt stiff. Cloud followed Sora’s action and both made their way outside. They went out into the garden that Cloud had created and walked around for a bit. The heat wasn’t bad with the cool breeze coming by every so often. Sora flopped down beneath a large tree, spreading out in the shade.

“Didn’t you just get up from sitting?”

“Yeah, but this is lying down,” Sora grinned up at the elder sibling, upon which Cloud just rolled his blue eyes and sighed.

“Cloud…” Sora whispered

“Yeah?”

“Do you...think I’ll survive this?”

“Yes, I believe you can do it. I trust Merlin and if Merlin can trust Yen Sid, then I trust him as well. Merlin isn’t a fool and wouldn’t put you up to something that you would not be ready for.”

Sora felt better after that little ‘pep talk’ from his older brother and let himself relax. He would get hurt over this upcoming journey and he knew he would be changed, but it was worth it.

A/N: I didn't know what to really write about after this so I decided to post it up. Again, sorry for the long wait. Next chapter will be about Riku and the plans for the journey. Suggestions for what you would like to read about with Sora's visit to his village would be helpful :)
