Summary: AU. There was a rumor in her favorite café that she and that gorgeous red-eyes were dating. But she was rather found of the idea to meet both of them.

Afternoon Café
The young woman sat at a table of her favorite street café and with bored expression she studied the people around her. The stack made of five books was deposited on the table in front of her. Three more books lay opened on the table with several sheets of paper - both empty and filled - and a dozen or so different kinds of pens. Her glasses lay forgotten over the mess with her student ID of the local university. All the books had something to do with ancient history and the scribbles on the filled papers testified the fact that she was desperately trying to write her thesis about prehistoric flint accessories. Her half-full coffee cup steamed on her hands.

It was clear that she was not out there to 'just spend some time' and she was pondering some unknown problem for her thesis.

She was not in any way a looker. Her looks were ordinary, she did not draw attention by her looks and she seemed pleased by that fact. Her clothes were entirely black as she had dressed in a black, Chinese shirt and black jeans. It was her strange hairdo that made people glance at her twice. Her black, longish locks were pulled up, on the top of her head into a tight ponytail which was secured with ten or so black and red satin ribbons. The ribbons were long enough to reach past her knees when this about 170 centimeters tall young woman stood. In the end of every ribbon was tied a different kind of cross.

Her unfocused grayish blue eyes suddenly refocused when a man around her age passed her table while carrying a stack of books of his own. Most of the titles of the books hinted that every single of those books had something to do with the warfare in the Medieval Europe and especially with the sword-forging.

A smile swept over the woman's face and she let out a very unfeminine whistle from her lips. "Where are you going, Romeo?" she called out slyly, not caring what those around her might think, and raised her hand to greet the man with the books.

The man's head whipped around to meet the person yelling at him and as soon as he saw the woman, the expression of slight annoyance flashed over his handsome features. He altered his steps towards the table occupied by the gray-blue-eyed woman. "I've told you to stop calling me that, Grave-robber", he growled back as he banged his books onto the table and swung his loose ponytail over his shoulder.

The woman pursed up her lips in distaste but her clear disapprovement did not stop the long-haired male from sitting down and waving his hand to get the attention of a waiter or a waitress. As usual it did not take long before several waitresses were heading to their direction with a determined look in their eyes and face. They all knew relatively well these two persons because they often came together to spend time and study in this café.

Those two were a strangely suited and unsuited couple. Where the young woman's looks were nothing to take notion of, the young man really stood out with his looks. Both of them had longish, black hair and horribly similar nature, although the female was better in hiding her true nature or the male simply could not care less. The woman's hair was always made complexly while the man always had his hair either on a loose ponytail or enfolded with white ribbons on two tight tails. Their clothes were similarly black, but the woman's were rather loose when the man's were almost too tight to be comfortable.

The waitress, who was the quickest of the lot, almost beamed when she received the red-eyed man's order. From the corner of the eye she quickly appraised the woman that according to popular rumor was this gorgeous youngster's girlfriend or spouse. Without a doubt those two were somewhat close if the way they fought every now and then when they met in the café was any indication. For the waitress' shock, she met the smug smile of the other female over the coffee cup she had risen to her lips.

Suddenly the sitting female deposited her cup on the table, put on her glasses and took one of her books on the table which seemed to be randomly chosen. She took a sheet of blank paper and a pen while reading and the waitress tried to concentrate on taking the rest of the man' order.

"So, Romeo..." the reading woman suddenly said. "Where's your better half? I thought that we were all supposed to meet here today." The scratching of the pen against the paper seemed to highlight the sudden stillness of the male sitting on the opposing side of the table. The heavy silence made her raise her eyes to look at the man. She let out a frustrated sigh and yanked off her glasses. "You gotta be kidding me!" she spit out in anger. "What's wrong with you, Romeo?!" she demanded to know.

The youngster waved his hand to send off now truly shocked waitress before he openly showed his annoyance in form of the wrinkled brow. "The professor had something, what he wanted to talk with and got held back." His fingers tapped against one of the pages of her opened book with clear distress.

The woman snickered and put the glassed back on her nose. "You got dumped, Romeo. I told you back then that your better half might not like that you're spending this much time with me without saying a word of warning." Her entire attention was back to the book and her eyes actively scanned the pages when the waitress brought his order of black coffee and salmon pie.

The male gave the waitress a curt nod before he returned his icy stare back to his table companion. "I don't get why it would be a problem. You're helping me with my graduate seminar." He seemed to be unable to find anything wrong in their relationship.

The young woman took her eyes off the page marking her place with a finger. "I'm specialized on Archaeology while you're majoring History." Her eyes returned the page and she shook her head to readjust her satin ribbons. "Oh... I was looking for this..." she muttered absently and forgetting the one sitting with her. Then she lazily waved the hand which she had her pen. "Males... females... you know how it goes, Romeo..."

"No, I don't!" was the curt, irritated retaliation. "And stop calling me Romeo, Grave-robber", the bloody-eyed male shot back.

"Now, that's not a very nice way to address someone who's using her free time to help out, Albel", pointed out a new voice behind the long-haired male and a pair of strong, delicate arms wound themselves around the sitting male's neck. The warm body was pressed against his back.

The young woman raised her eyes quickly enough to see the blue-haired young man lock his lips into passionate a kiss with the sitting man. She put her book away marking the place with a paper and leaned back to enjoy wholeheartedly the sight of those two males reaffirming their bond with series of kisses and caresses. When they finally separated and the blue-haired young man met her eyes, she smiled warmly and offered her hand to the newcomer. "You must be Fayt Leingod. The Romeo here has told me lot about you. I'm..."

Author's Note: I have few stories among these that I am very proud of. This is one of them. And I would like you all to remember that the girl in this fiction is called "Mary-Sue". If you want to, that it is.
