Chapter 22

Chapter 22

A/N:
Long note this time>.< Why? Well because I actually want to address some Reviewers, yea for you who predicted the next chapter and/or talked about not cheering for anyone.

If you want to skip this scroll down to the ‘*****’ the story starts there.

Hey, congrats to Just_me, who was the only person I saw post it. It was Kuja who smacked Wakka at the beach. I couldn’t resist. I love Kuja, the man does have very ‘childbearing’ looking hips…

Jou-pop: awesome. You hit the nail on the head, I love Hot Gimmick, and really wanted a story where it was something like that. Everyone wants their out come, but has no real means to get it, and just makes stupid mistake, after stupid mistake. Why? Well, in actuality, we teenagers are really like that. Maybe not as dramatic about it, but god knows we fuck up every other minute. Ask my girlfriend. I stupidly missed that she liked me for four years^^

I like stories where there is no real hero or bad guy, just a bunch of victims. I’m strange like that. Personally, I feel I fucked over Riku the most. Kairi and Soar are tied in my head.

And congrats for those of who involuntarily guessed what’s next, even if you were just trying to make suggestions, or get me kill Kairi. She’s not going to die. Sorry. But it’s ok. So from here on out, things get a little more complicated (Well obviously the boys got a wound to the head) If that knocks so sense into him, I’ll let the story tell you.

Also, for all of you begging me to continue the story. You don’t have to worry: I WILL FINISH THIS. But I’m at college, so when I say, no updates, I’m studying, I mean it.

***********Hi I’m the story***********

Run. Just run and start screaming. That was the only thing he could think to do. He felt panicked, anxious, but most of all afraid.

How did things end up like this? How they did get so bad that he was trapped here, whit this- this psycho! Was this the end? Was he going to die like this? At the hands of some freak who was going to do God knows what to him.

Sora ducked into an alley way, he hid himself behind a dumpster and tried his best to stifle his tears. But it was hard not to cry in a situation like this. All alone, in a strange part of town, he’s friends were somewhere.

He heard his pursuer stop at the start of the alley. Sora held his breath and pulled his knees up to his face.

This wasn’t happening.

He could hear them walk down the alley. But it’s not real, it can’t be. He’s at home. He’s with his friends. He’s ok.

Sora started gasping for air as his lungs, to tense from anxiety, began refuse oxygen. He held his hands over his head and started whispering his best friends name over and over. The one person he really needed right now. The only person he’d ever want to see him like this.

This wasn’t happening…and worst of all it sounds like their crying too…

Kairi looked down at Sora, tears rolling down her cheeks. She couldn’t believe it. Look what had happened. Look at her hands. Look at her clothes. Look at Sora….will she die like that. Kairi couldn’t help but cry. Crotched over Sora’s still body, she sobbed into her hands. Smearing blood and salty tears all over her face she cried. She screamed.

“WHY! WHY!” She wiped the tears from her face, making more of a mess. “Why did you do this! WHY! Why couldn’t you love him? Why couldn’t you want him!” She leaned down and screamed into Sora’s still face.

“ANSWER ME! WHY DID YOU MAKE ME DO THIS!!! IS THIS WHAT WANT! IS THIS HOW YOU WIN!!” She leaned back and looked at the ceiling and mumbled.

‘I’ll never be able to see Riku again…you stupid, self centered…you used him. And now I have to suffer for it. They’ll never let me see him again…’ she started rocking back and forth on the floor. ‘It wasn’t suppose to turn out like this.’

“You were suppose to be angry. You were suppose to be a bitch. I was finally going to prove to Riku what a terrible person you ARE!”

‘And look at you…’ she whispered as she reached out and smeared the blood off Sora’s face. “Lying there, peacefully,” she shook her head and cried even harder, “He’s going to love you. He’ll never know how terrible you are, all because you made me do this…”

Kairi sat, ritualistically wiping the blood from Sora’s face. It smeared down his cheeks, into his hair, and on to the floor. Kairi watched him, his eyes slightly open, but he wasn’t conscious, at least no fully. No, he was off somewhere, “With your precious boyfriend no doubt.” Kairi growled watching Sora’s lips motion a word over and over again.

She stopped and watched the ‘girl’ on the floor.

“You’re boy friends not here,” but Sora’s lips kept moving. “How can you call out for him? He’s miles away…he’ll never come get you.” The motion became more constant. Kairi frowned and leaned forward, still flicking tears and hair from her face. “WHY DON’T YOU GET IT?! There’s no one here but m-”

She stopped and looked at Sora’s lips. ‘I know that name…that name…’

“Why are you calling for RIKU!” She reached up and pounded her fist on Sora’s chest. “YOU GOD DAMN BITCH! If you’re awake I’ll really kill you!!” She kept slamming down on Sora, the result was his whole body shook.

“Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!” Kairi leaned forward and rested her head on Sora’s chest, “You stupid bitch, you have no right…” She cried, soaking Sora’s shirt. Her fist clenched the cloth, and her free hand slammed up and down on Sora’s thigh.

And after three minutes. Her mind registered, she was lying on something flat. Kairi turned her head and looked up at Sora’s chest.

‘…There’s nothing….here?’ She sat, her mouth clenched tight. She looked Sora over, up and down. Finally, she reached over and unbuttoned the red shirt, and stopped. Dumbfounded, pissed, and confused were about the only things she could think of.

‘This can’t be….you can’t be?’ She looked at Sora’s face for a moment and poked him in the cheek a few times to be sure Sora was out. Once assured, she hesitantly moved her hands down and started undoing the jeans. She chewed her lip a bit, and looked back up at Sora’s flat chest, just to be sure. And took one deep breath.

She pulled the jeans down.

For a while, it seemed, like the world had just stopped. If someone walked into the Secret Place right now, to them it would appear they were observing a very elaborate statue. But after what seemed like forever, the girl looming over the body, smiled. She smile grew wider, accompanied by a snicker. Then a laugh. Then she out right threw her head back and laughed. The sound echoed around the little cave and up the passage.

A boy. A boy? Sora was a god damn boy. Kairi couldn’t help but laugh. She didn’t even no what possessed her to do so. She was still in a bad situation. Sora was still bleeding all over his face. And now he looked awkward just lying there half naked. But she just, laughed.

“Y-you…you’re a, a boy?” She rolled her head around and looked at Sora as if expecting a response. Tears were rolling down her cheeks, but this time from laughter. “You’re a boy? And you were….you were using, Riku? MY RIKU.”

Kairi crawled forward and leaned over Sora’s face, “So….is Sora even your name? Do you even have a boy friend? JUST,” she shook her head, “Why the hell do you lie about stuff like that?” She fell forward and stroked Sora’s face again, their forehead’s touching. “You’re a damn faggot? You just…didn’t want Riku, to know?”

“Why would you think you could get him this way? He’d eventually find out.” Kairi sat up and smiled at Sora’s body. “Well, the one good thing out of this…” She stood up and nudged his body with her foot.

Suddenly she began talking in a mock voice, ‘Kairi? Why would you do something like that?’

“Ah, Riku,” she said in her normal tone laughing, “It was horrible. I wanted to protect you…I lured Sora away, because…” She looked him over. “I found out his secret!”

‘His, but Sora’s a girl…’ she turned and started walking out of the room.

“No, I found out…Sora’s a boy…I tried to tell him, not to hurt you…and he came at me. It was all I could do,” She looked over at Sora’s body. “I’m sorry about it. Really I am. But I’m not letting you win.” She smiled. “But thank you, I had no clue what to do about this, until now…”

Kairi turned around and walked out of the cave, still laughing about nothing as she made her way home.

Sora was still on the floor mouthing the same word over and over again.

‘My body feels cold…’

‘I can’t see anything.’

‘I hear someone, but I already know they won’t help me.’

‘I wish….I wish he was here. Yea, he knows what to do all the time.’

Sora fluttered his eyes open and looked around. He was huddled in the corner of the dark alley. It smelled terrible. The person he heard talking was still laughing at him. He couldn’t stand it. Why had this happened to him? Why did he leave Leon’s side?

The man stopped laughing and looked down at Sora, “Are you going to get up?” Sora just shook his head. “Fine then.” Sora tried to push himself into the wall, hopping to merge with it, but to no avail. The man in front of him pulled him up by his shoulders and started to drag him along.

So Sora did the one thing he knew to do, scream. The man just laughed again, but not everyone present found it funny.

“I’m glad you’re amused sir,” they both turned to the person standing at the front of the alley, “But I’m afraid the kid with you isn’t. So why not let him go?”

Sora stared a little speechless. He knew there were a lot of odd characters in Travers Town, and the Fourth District was by no means and exception, if anything, the people here were even more fucked up. But, this guy, that leather jacket, the cowboy hat…even he was a little strange for Traverse Town.

“Hey, why don’t you step aside Hop-Along. I’m just taking him home.”

“But it’s whose home that’s in question.” The cowboy stepped into the alley. “Let him go.”

The man frowned. He looked at Sora, and then at the person blocking his path. Suddenly he flung the thirteen year old to the ground and pulled out a gun. But he never got off a shot. The cowboy in front had mysteriously produced a rifle and fired at the man. In an instant the gun Sora’s pursuer had been holding flew out of his hands. It landed a foot away. The man clutched his hand in pain and glanced from the cowboy to the gun.

“Well, are you going to let him go or not?” The man, still holding his hand, but now with a visible look of hatred on his face, nodded. He looked at Sora and sneered.

Sora shook his head and ran. He ran past the man that had been following him, and even past the man that saved him. He just ran. He was still scared. He didn’t know where he was going or what was going on.

But within a few moments he heard someone calling after him. Chasing him down. Again. He promised himself he wouldn’t stop this time.

‘I’m never going to get myself cornered, never again.’ And he raced off down the street.

Riku was by far pissed. He sat on a bench at the ferry station for two hours waiting for the others to come, and here they are now. Waltzing up at ten instead of eight, but worst of all, Kairi and Sora were still absent.

“Hey, Riku!” Tidus waved, but Riku just growled at him.

“Whoa, what’s crawled up your bum and died?” Selphie asked eyeing Riku.

Riku took a deep breath and turned to his friends, “Where. Have. You. BEEN?” Everyone just stared at him. “Well?!”

“What do you mean, where have we been,” Wakka looked at his watch, “We’re right on time. Ten o’clock.” The other two nodded.

“No, we were suppose to be here at eight!” Riku shook his head.

“Riku, the movies aren’t open at eight.” Tidus pointed out.

“We were supposed to go to the mall, then the movies! Starting at eight. I’ve been here for two Fucking hours!” Tidus and Wakka made a facial expression that ran along the lines of, ‘Ouch’, but Selphie seemed confused.

“Why would you think we’d be here at eight?”

“Because Kairi told me eight! And she told me you were telling the guys eight!” Riku looked them over, “Where the hell is she anyway?”

“Don’t know, she wasn’t at her place.” Tidus nodded. Selphie felt even more confused. She was definitely told ten. She looked over her shoulder, what could Kairi be doing so that had kept her for two hours.

“And where’s Sora?” Selphie spun her head back around now. Wakka was getting ready to answer, but Selphie cut him off.

“She wasn’t home. Or at least pretended not to be. You know, maybe she’s not coming.” What the hell was Kairi doing?
Riku looked at Selphie, and then to Wakka, and then to Tidus. He was two hours early. Definitely told to come at eight. And now, his group was short to girls. He turned back to Selphie, “Selphie….Where’s Kairi?”

“What? We told you, we don’t know.”

Riku stood up and walked over to her, Selphie backed up a bit. “I know that you as a whole don’t know. But I’m asking you, individually. Where is Kairi?”

Selphie shook her head, “I don’t know.”

“Ok, one more time,” he grabbed Selphie’s arm so she couldn’t back away, “Where is Kairi?”

“Riku, she doesn’t know. None of us do, so just drop it ya.” Wakka pulled on Riku’s shirt.

Riku released Selphie, but not his suspicions. He looked his friends over for a moment before turning around and heading toward the ferry.

“Where are you going?” Selphie called out.

“Home. I need to find Kairi and ask her why she lied to me.”

“But…but,” Selphie started after him, “We’re already here, let’s just spend the day on this island!”

“No!” and Riku just walked away, leaving his friends a little startled.

Kairi was sure she’d be a strange sight coming back to the island. She had tried to wash up in the waterfall, but found the blood in her clothes wasn’t coming out with just water.

‘It doesn’t matter,’ she rowed her boat toward shore, ‘When I get to the island. I’ll get the authorities. Tell them Sora attacked me…they’ll go get him. And Riku will have to wise up.’ She smiled a little looking back at the island where Sora was, ‘But how will I explain why we were both there alone?’

Kairi reached the little pier and tied up her boat, she was about to leave to find a cop when someone called her name.

She looked up to see Riku running at her.

‘Shit.’

“Kairi! Kairi!” Riku raced up to her. Was she really so late that he had time to get here? “Kairi…” what ever he was going to say to her trailed off as soon as he saw the blood on her shirt. Suddenly he reached out and grabbed her arms.

“Kairi! Are you ok? What happened to you!” Riku panicked, Kairi was covered in blood, his best friend, covered in blood. His eyes were wide with horror; she was covered in the stuff. Here was being angry with her for lying to him, and she’s gone through something terrible. She could be hurt. She could have been killed. Why wasn’t he there for his friend? What had happened to her?

“I…I’m ok…” Riku wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. When he pressed their body’s together, Kairi could feel his heart racing. He had been scarred. Scarred for her. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned into his shoulder, she started to cry.

Riku stroked Kairi’s head, and began whispering to her. He turned his head for a moment and called for help up the dock. There was a fishermen near by, he came down, got a quick look at Kairi and ran to call the cops.

Riku took Kairi’s hand and let her sit on the pier, she was crying harder now, and he still didn’t know what happened.

“Kairi, you’ve got to tell me…what’s wrong?”

Kairi shook her head a bit, she took a few deep breaths and wiped her tears away, “S-sora…Sora t-tried-”

“SORA!” Riku cut her off. She looked up at him amazed at how quickly his mind switched priorities. He had that panicked look again. In seeing Kairi, he had forgotten all about Sora. He stood up and started pacing.

‘Was Sora hurt too? Where was she? Was she too hurt to get back?’ He looked at Kairi, “What about Sora? Where is she?”

Kairi shook her head, she stood up now. “Riku, I, that is….Sora is hurt.” Riku’s eyes went even wider, she reached out and grabbed his arm. “No, don’t worry…HE deserved it.”

Kairi knew her words would stir something in Riku. At first anger, for what she said, but then realization of what she said. That ‘he’ had deserved what he got. But that realization never came. Riku’s look of shock, twisted into confusion, and then into anger.

“What do you mean?” he brushed her hand away. “Kairi! What did you do?”

She shook her head, “It’s not what I did, it’s what had to be done. Sora was going to hurt me. He was going to hurt us!” She grabbed his arms again and shook him, “I found out, his little secret. He was going to hurt me…”

Riku shook his head and tried to pull away from Kairi, he could hear someone shouting in the background. He could hear a police siren as well. But none of that was echoing as loudly in his head right now as what Kairi was saying.

‘He deserved it? He was going to hurt her? HE was going to hurt them? He…as in, Sora?’

“You see, Riku, he came and got me this morning. I stayed away because I had found out about him…he told me not to tell anyone or else. But I wouldn’t let that happen.” A group of people and an ambulance made themselves known at the docks. Riku turned his head to face them, but felt Kairi’s hand gently pull him back to her.

“I would never let anyone hurt you….so he tried to hurt me. But I took care of it. It’s ok…”

Riku blinked a few times. He heard people shouting at them and getting closer. “What are you saying? This,” he looked at the blood, “Its Sora’s isn’t it. You….you hurt her?”

Kairi shook her head, “I had to do something! Don’t you understand it was self-defense!”

“Kairi, you attacked her!”

“Her! Her! Her! Are you not listening! It’s a boy. Sora’s a GOD DAMN BOY! He was going to hurt you! I stood up to him for you! I did this for you!”

Riku shook his head, “No, no…..you did this, for you. I already knew what Sora was.”

Kairi stopped now. Riku tore himself away fro her grip and started to untie his boat. The paramedics stood at the end of the dock as stared running down. Kairi turned her head at the mean screaming for her attention.

“Kairi, where is he?” She didn’t respond. Riku reached up and pulled her leg, “KAIRI!”

She turned back to Riku and smacked him across the face. Riku just let go and pushed his boat off form the dock. A police officer tried to grab his raft and pull him back, but he was out of arms reach.

Riku rowed away from the dock, watching the cops shout at him and watching Kairi being led away by the paramedics. She had a dazed, but clearly angry look on her face. On the shore, he could see Selphie, Tidus and Wakka arriving to the hectic scene.

But none of that mattered. Not the cops getting a boat to follow him. Not his friends freaking out over Kairi, and not Kairi’s deranged reasoning. No. What mattered is that he got to the island. And got there soon.

Hopefully in time to help Sora.
