The Design Room

Later on in the day Sora seemed to have vanished on the older prince. Riku searched everywhere in the palace and the gardens but found nothing of his boyfriend. It amazed Riku that even though Sora had only been here for two days, he had already found a hiding spot that Riku had obviously not but it also annoyed him slightly, he knew why Sora had vanished. The younger teen’s mind was on the opportunity of becoming a Great Magus and even though Riku knew Sora needed to think this through alone, he didn’t really want to leave him alone in the state he was.

Giving up on his search for the brown spiky headed teenager, Riku found his way to the big designing room that was solely Kairi’s. He opened up the door and jumped back as he entered, narrowly missing a fast rolling cart carrying different designs of dresses. He had a moment of internal debate if this room was safe at all this afternoon. Seeing as nothing else came flying at his from any direction, Riku closed the door behind him and walked towards the sounds of rustling. There he found his friend Kairi searching through different fabrics. He red hair was tied back in a bun to keep any hair out of her face; her bangs were also clipped back with bobby pins. Her blue eyes intent on a certain fabric she had in mind, her sleeves were rolled up and different pieces of fabrics and thread still stuck to her white pants and shirt.

“Hey,” Riku announced his presence, he knew better then to sit down anywhere after the other four times he did, he had apparently messed up a few things by removing a pile of whatever from the chair, so now he just stood there.

“Hey, what’s up?” Kairi answered without taking her eyes off of the pile in front of her.

“Nothing just came to talk.”

“Oh and about what?”

“I don’t know,” Riku shrugged as he looked around absentmindedly, “nothing in particular.”

“Alright. Get me that dark pink fabric will you?” Kairi asked without looking as she prepared pinning two fabrics together.

“Yeah…”Riku looked around and came upon a pile of pink fabrics, only there were three different kinds of dark pink. He picked one at random and prayed it was the right color. Kairi took it and didn’t complain so Riku let out the air he hadn’t realized he’d been holding in. “Alright, so…what new things are happening with you?”

“Just this new project and that boy Sora. He came in here before and we spoke for a little while.”

“What?” Riku straightened up, his attention fully focused on Sora’s name and the fact that he came here.

“Yeah, we spoke for an hour…then he left. He’s really nice and cute too,” Kairi let an impish grin cross her face as she looked at Riku’s stunned face, “you two will make a perfect match. He told me about his offer of becoming a Great Magus…asked me for some advice as well.”

“What did you tell him?” Riku wondered, a small spark of jealousy lit within him.

“I told he should go through with it. If Great Magus Merlin and Great Magus Yen Sid believe he can do this and get through all the trials then he can. They have the best judgments that I’ve seen in a while.”

“Yeah...where did he go? Did he say?”

“Yes, but he wants to be left alone now Riku. We should give him that. Don’t worry though, you’ll see him at supper tonight…hopefully,” Kairi placed her finger to her mouth in thought before speaking again. “No, maybe not.”

“What? Why not?”

“He has a lot on his mind now so he might just end up going to sleep late tonight without supper.”

“Damn,” Riku sighed softly, “look, Kairi, I think I’m going to go.”

“I know, you have things to think hard about. Be sure about your decisions Riku. The last thing your father needs is a big problem on his hands. Especially since he’s trying to calm some tension between this kingdom and Acerbus.”

“Yeah, I know. Don’t worry Kairi; I’ll think it through until I’m beat. I’ll see you later at supper.”

“Bye Riku. Good luck.”

I know, really short chapter but better then nothing hehe. I'm still busy so I thought I'd at least get this down. I'm going to make a chapter on Riku and Sora's decisions next.
