Chapter 11: To the way things were... Nearly
I apologize for the delay. College got in the way. Now, for the chapter you've all been waiting for...

"We must make our way to Angel Island. The Master Emerald will be able to help... To what extent, I can't be sure..." said Tikal. Within Tikal's mind, Amy nodded, as they took Rouge's form and flew off to Angel Island. While in flight, Amy let Tikal in control, as she had her own mental battles... Chaos was trying to re-establish a hold on Amy's mind, to warp it to its own designs.
"No... I... I can't let it... No... Tikal, hurry..."
As they land on the floating island, Amy suddenly gains control again without wishing it and holds her hands to her head as if in pain.
"NO! Stop it! This is MY body! I won't let you control me ANYMORE!"
Amy struggles towards the emerald shrine as she gives Tikal back control to perform the rites required to get the Master Emerald to help.
"The servers are the 7 Chaos. Chaos is power... Power enriched by the heart. The controller is the one who unifies the Chaos. Please, Master Emerald, Stop Chaos from poisoning Amy's mind! Give her back her free will!"
The Master Emerald glows an eerie green glow in the night as Amy's form shifts back to her own body. Her eyes open wide as she gasps in pain, as if something was beginning to be wrenched from within her. Her mouth suddenly is forced wide open as a translucent blue figure is force out of her and into the Master Emerald. She floats in midair for a bit, and then collapses on the ground, unconscious.
Sunrise... Amy awakens and puts her hand on her head... Her friends were nowhere to be seen...
"...W... What? But... I thought that..."
"I'm afraid it's not as simple as I thought, Amy... Chaos' power was ingrained too deeply into you... The Master Emerald could not cure you... But it could imprison Chaos' spirit. You are free to do with your new powers as you please, without Chaos to cloud your judgment," Tikal said within Amy's mind.
"Then... I still have all the Emeralds... And that means..."
Amy concentrates as a single tear rolls down her cheek, only to be absorbed back into her as she splits into several pieces. Sonic, Tails, Rouge, Knuckles, Cream, Cheese and Vanilla all reformed from the puddles. Though Amy was now nowhere to be seen. The gang all looked confused as to their new predicament.
"But... I thought Amy had..." Tails whispered.
"Yeah, she did... Does this mean that... No, it can't be," Knuckles said, crossing his arms with a look of concern.
"Don't worry about me... I'm so sorry... I let Chaos get the better of me... I don't deserve friends like you... Please... Forgive me..." Amy says in all their minds.
The group gasps as Sonic pipes up.
"Amy! Its all right. We understand, you don't need to feel ashamed!" Sonic yells out to nowhere.
"Like hell we do!" exclaimed Rouge, "She's got a LOT of explaining to do!"
"Rouge! Don't say things like that in front of Cream!" said Tails.
"Well she does! Come on, how are you guys being so ready to forgive her, after she took EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!" Suddenly taking flight, Rouge flies off, adding just one last thing to say. "Whatever... You guys think whatever you want to, I'm going HOME." She then flies off into the horizon.
Sonic and Knuckles sigh at the bat as she disappears into the distance.
"Well... How we gonna get out of here?" asked Sonic.
"Oh, right... Leave that to me... I'm sorry, guys..." said Amy inside their heads again. Suddenly, Sonic, Tails, Cream, Cheese and Vanilla melt and form one puddle which then drops off the edge of the island.
"What the... Amy still has Chaos' powers... And still has control of us if she wants it..." Knuckles thought to himself. "No good will come of this... We can only hope that Tails'll think of a way to reverse whatever the hell Chaos did to Amy..."
He stares sullenly at the Master Emerald and then heads to his home on the island.
A few hours later, the others were back at Station Square. Sonic, Tails and the Rabbit family went their separate ways while Amy sighed within the collective of minds, crying to herself.
"What have I done... I... I can't live with myself with this..."
Night falls again... And a pair of glowing red eyes appear in the foliage at Angel Island as a soft metallic chuckle can be heard.
