Aria's Blue Moon
The Tides of Negotiation
Darner Vosque, leader of the Blue Suns, stood idly amidst the bustling crowd within the Citadel. An amused expression spread across his face as Commander Jane Shepard approached. “Wow. Aria wasn’t kidding. The great Commander Shepard on a leash.”
Shepard fired back, “I’m here for my own reasons, Vosque.”
“Oh, sure you are. Anyway, tell her I’m impressed, but to do business, I still need my little problem taken care of.”
“Which is…?”
“A Turian general named Oraka has it out for the Blue Suns. He’s raising a stink over our activity in this sector. I’ll commit my gang to Aria as soon as Oraka’s dead,” Vosque explained.
“You won’t have to worry about Oraka for long.”
“Love it. Commander Shepard taking out the Blue Suns’ trash. Ha. That Aria is sure something special. Oh, and, uh…” Vosque chuckled. “Tell Aria I still expect her blue ass in bed with me.”
As Darner Vosque walked away, Shepard contacted the blue-assed Aria. She answered the call tersely. “What is it Shepard?”
“You knew about this?”
“Can you be more specific?”
“Darner Vosque expects me to kill General Oraka,” Shepard complained.
“Who cares what Vosque wants? What he needs is for Oraka to stop disrupting his operations. I figured you’d talk to Oraka, see if you can get him to lay off. And if he won’t listen to reason, call me. And I’ll take care of it.”
“No need to candycoat it, Aria.”
“Aw, Shepard. You think you know me so well.”
“I just don’t see why you couldn’t tell me the details yourself.”
“Vosque needed to see you. Needed to realize who he’s dealing with.” Aria paused with annoyance. “Plus, if I have to suffer that scumbag staring at my tits one more time, I might have to kill him.”
“Yeah, he mentioned-”
“That I’m going to sleep with him? Hm. We all have our delusions.”
Some time passed, and Aria received a call, this time from Darner Vosque. She answered it tersely as usual. “Vosque.”
“Aria. Your lapdog does good work.”
“So I can expect the Blue Suns’ support?”
“Almost,” Voque answered. “I’m sure you remember the… other part of our deal?”
“Your deal,” Aria huffed. “I never agreed to whatever fever dream you came up with.”
“It doesn’t matter. Because you promised Shepard the Blue Suns’ help, and if there’s one thing ‘The Great Aria’ doesn’t do, it’s underdeliver. I’ll see you in my quarters in fifteen minutes.”
Vosque hung up.
