A Brand New Future Chapter 1 Three people were seen sitting in the family room of a rather elegant and yet comfy home. The first was Rodrigo Silvear, head of the Silvear clan of werewolves and the head of Silvear Inc., a group of corporations that deals with a multitude of industries, from mining projects as well as alternative energy sources as well the occasional construction, conservation and development projects. He is quite an imposing figure, being tall and muscular as well as having cold grayish blue eyes and there is always a commanding air around him, which made him to be quite attractive to many women around him. The second was Henrietta Martlett-Silvear, the second daughter of the succubae house of Martlett, as well as Rodrigo’s wife. She had ebony hair with smoldering emerald eyes and a figure that many supermodels would kill to have, not to mention she was very sensual. Her body screamed sex at every pore, and she wore it like a second skin… something that comes as natural to a succubae. The third was a young man around twenty six years old, and had blonde hair like his father, but yet the emerald eyes of his mother. He had the athletic but lean figure of his father, but he also possesses the combined feral air of his father and the dark sensuality of his mother’s should he decide to wield it. He was Edward Silvear, heir to both the Silvear and Martlett families, both prominent lesser nobility in Makai. Rodrigo regarded his son thoughtfully before speaking in a calm even tone. “You are certain of this decision you are making my son?” Edward nodded as he looked at his father. “As certain as I can be, Father. I thought you and mother would be relieved that I am finally making this decision.” He said with the same calm tone that his father was using. “Oh I am son…” Rodrigo said finally with a smile. “I just want to know why you decided to marry after all this time. I thought you decided to get away from Makai to get away from marriage prospects and all that. I never expected you would decide to wed a human girl, not that I am complaining of course.” Henrietta smiled as well and then said. “Yes, though you do realize that to fulfill the family commitments, you would have to take a she wolf and a succubi like me as your brides as well don’t you son? The best thing that this human wife of yours can be is of a third wife position… I hope you understand this before we go through with this proposal of yours.” “I understand perfectly mother, but let me make it straight from the start. I will not allow her to be treated as an inferior just because she is human. She has been through a lot since her childhood, and I do not wish her to suffer any more in this marriage as well.” Edward said a little hotly, causing his parents to smile at their son’s reaction. “My, it seems you do feel something about this girl? Care to tell us of her past, my son?” His mother said with a giggle. “Sure thing, mother… here goes.” Edward said as he rolled his eyes slightly at his mother’s teasing look that was sent his way. He then told them that his future bride-to-be was born to a Korean mother and an American father. Her parents met at a night club near the US Army base while her biological father was stationed in Korea. After a one night stand (after which the man disappeared), her mother became pregnant, resulting in her mother being disowned by her strict, conservative family. Her mother did the best that she could in raising little Mikaela (then known as Ha-Sun [meaning 'Heaven's Gift]) by herself, until she was 3 and her mother met and married Stefan Whiten. For the first couple of years, he treated Mikaela and her mother very well, even giving Mikaela an American name and teaching her English, until he found his way into the dark world of drugs; when he became violently abusive. As he became increasingly abusive, her mother re-initiated contact with her family so that she could at the very least keep her daughter safe. When Mikaela turned 6, her mother sent her to live with her grandparents and then vanished without a trace. He also told them that her grandparents were traditional prudes, and brought her up in a strict, traditional manner. He then looked at them and said. “And then they sent her to Shokushu and the rest is history. One good thing did come out of those prudes though, she is quite shy and adorable and I do believe you know more about it, since I told you about her in the letters that I sent home, mother.” Rodrigo frowned a bit and said. “I see… well I suppose as you said, something good did come out of it. But I assure you son, I will track down the two men that had caused your bride’s mother grief and ruin them financially and their reputation to help her get even. I will also try and track down your bride’s mother and try and provide for her financially if she is in dire straits, and perhaps if she is skilled enough, I will allow her employment to one of my companies. Will that be enough?” Edward grinned and nodded. “Thanks, father… it is much more than I expected. What do you want to do with the prudes though?” He said with a sly grin on his face. “Well son, I suppose a marriage contract with a modest, but substantial dowry would suffice. I had my experience dealing with such people and the only things they are concerned with are wealth and honor. Rest assured that your bride would be out of their influence soon enough and she will be in the company of people whom she can really call as family.” Rodrigo said with a smile on his face as Henrietta slipped an arm around her husband’s. “It is times like this that reminds me of just why I love you dear… but your father is right son… with her in the family, it’s going to be quite fun having her around. I just want to meet the lady that has captured my son’s attention.” She said with a saucy, teasing look and Edward groaned. “I am glad you feel that way, mother… but please don’t try and corrupt her too much? You know that I like her for that shy, adoring character that she has and I do not think I could withstand her behaving like you and sister on a daily basis.” His father just chuckled and shook his head at his son and wife’s antics and then said. “Well then, I suppose I just have to draw out that contract and send them to your bride-to-be’s grandparents in an official letter. I will see you all later then.” With that he got up, and went to his office and wrote the marriage contract proposal, as well as the terms and the dowry amount and sent them via speed mail towards his future daughter-in-law’s grandparent’s address which he was confident he would be hearing from them soon via mail as well. ************************************************************* Mikaela could hear the scurry of busy footsteps padding around in front of the door to the library. ‘What’s all the fuss about?’ She wondered. She glanced up at the old, antique clock hanging above the door to the library and saw that it was only 10 o’clock in the morning. It was definitely a strange occurrence, considering her grandparents felt that any sort of disturbance before the afternoon time was ‘disrupting the peace’. Mikaela had gone back to reading her book when one of the maids stuck their head in the door. “Your grandfather and grandmother have sent for you, Ms. Mikaela.” “Alright. Tell them I’m on my way.” The maid nodded and shut the door quietly. Mikaela sighed as she stood up and slowly put her bookmark in place. Whenever her grandparents sent for her, past history reminded her that it was not a good occasion. Usually it was to reprimand her about having done something wrong, to discipline her, and/or sometimes, just to cause her distress. Ever since she had been abandoned by her mother and brought to this house, nobody had really bothered with her, unless she was misbehaving. On the rare occasion she did come into contact with her grandparents on a normal day, they would regard her with a cold look and say something about her being a ‘useless, dirty whore like her mother’. There were a couple of maids who would take the time to bring her food and chat with her, but they usually kept to themselves. The only people who talked to her on a normal basis were her etiquette teacher and her academics teacher, both of them coming every other day to teach her something new. She enjoyed those days very much because both of them took a kind interest in what she happened to be reading at the moment or something entertaining that had happened earlier in the day. It wasn’t until her grandparents sent her off the Shokushu school that she had come in contact with other people her age. She had always tried so hard to please her grandparents since she was young, but as the days went on the realization that she would never be able to do so would become more and more evident. Mikaela’s footsteps were slow and heavy. She couldn’t even imagine what she could have done wrong now. She had gotten back from school for a small medical break only two days before and had not gone out to do anything. She had stellar grades, apart from History 101, which for some strange reason she could not remember the least about, regardless that she went to classes almost religiously. She cringed. That was probably it, her history grade. She knew what was already coming her way. ‘Not only are you useless and dirty, but you are stupid too! We’re just wasting our time and money on you. The only reason we agreed to take you in is that your mother just happened to be our daughter.’ Mikaela’s expression turned into a grim one as she approached the door to her grandparents’ room. She took one last deep breath and forced a bright smile. All she had to do was agree to her worthlessness and stupidity, apologize and not be seen for the rest of the week. She knocked on their old wooden door. “Grandmother, Grandfather, you asked to see me?” “Come in.” The gruff, cold voice of her grandfather barked at her. Mikaela came in and shut the door quietly. The room smelled old and musty due to the expansive collection of old books of their heritage and customs her grandfather collected. Her grandparents were seated towards the back of the room and had a small table with a stack of papers in front of them. She walked forward and kneeled on the floor in the traditional way and bowed. ‘Great. That’s my report card.’ Her shoulders sank. Her grandfather cleared his throat. “This morning, we received a letter from the respectable house of Silvears.”
‘Silvears?? Who were the Silvears? Her principal? A friend of her grandparents? Silvear… Silvear…’ “And this letter was sent asking for our approval for you to marry into their family.”
‘Marry?!’ Mikaela’s mind went numb. “We have already replied that you would be very honored to do so. With your background, as a bastard, no respectable family would ever take you, so you are to feel relieved and extremely thankful towards these people. And that’s not to mention, they sent a dowry that is worth over one hundred women of your status. You will marry this man. And you will be thankful. You will absolutely not dishonor yourself in the house of Silvear as it will bring dishonor into my house.”
“Yes, Grandfather.” “I have already informed the maids of this arrangement and they should already have packed all of your things to be sent over. You will also begin preparation for the marriage. You are dismissed.” Mikaela bowed once again and left the room. ‘Married? I am to be married?’ She pictured an old, greasy, fat man of an age that could rival her grandfather’s. His fat spilled over the top of his pants and he smelled. She immediately began to dread the marriage night, the night that she would have to consummate the marriage. He would fondle her breasts too hard and his member would penetrate her too roughly, then after being used for sex he would disregard her. Would they know she was not a virgin anymore? She thought back to the first day on the campus of Shokushu. Edward had come to save her from being raped in the forest by two humanoid plant men and she had given up her virginity to him as thanks. Edward… did he think about her as much as she thought about him? Nobody had ever made her feel as important or beautiful as she did around him. He was charming, gentle, handsome, and most of all, he seemed to care. Hot tears began to prick at her eyes. ‘I know my grandparents hate me, but this is unfair! How could they just sell me off like that?’ Tears began to run from her eyes. Mikaela made her way back into her room, just like her grandfather said, it was nearly empty. Mikaela went to a spot in the corner of her room and lifted up the floorboard. Under the floorboard, laid a picture of her mother and her and a delicate silver chain, also from her mother. ‘Mother, I know you left me here so that I could be safe, but I miss you so much every day. I would rather be with you and have to endure the wrath of Stephen rather than live here and not be a person.’ Mikaela grasped the items and hugged them to her chest. She curled up into a ball and fell asleep, tears still trickling down her face. ********************************************************************************** Rodrigo looked at the letter that Mikaela’s grandparents sent in reply, and then tossed it to his wife and son. “There, read that. I must say even if I have expected it, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth after reading it.” He said with a frown on his face. Henrietta took a quick look at the letter and scowled and said. “You are right, husband… I have met many humans, and this one takes the cake. Not even the worst of Makai nobles would do such a thing to their own children.” Rodrigo sighed and said. “You seem to forget that in Makai such things are somewhat commonplace dear… even though things are changing for the better… what I am worried is what our son will do…” He never got a chance to finish as he heard a loud snarl of fury from Edward as he was already changed to his wolf form. “WHY THOSE OLD FOGEYS! HOW DARE THEY DO THIS TO HER!!!! THAT’S IT!!!! I’M GOING TO GO OVER THERE AND…” “You will do nothing my son…” Rodrigo said calmly, as he placed an arm firmly on his son’s arm, shaking his head, and he was met with a furious look from Edward. “And why shouldn’t I, dad?” Edward said hotly. “Those two old fogeys practically sold her off like a piece of meat in the market! I mean, doesn’t she mean something to her? Even if she doesn’t please them enough, there is no reason for her to be treated like this!” “Apparently she does not, my son…” Henrietta said sadly, though her emerald eyes were cold and hard. “And it is a harsh truth that you have to learn that some humans are just as bad as those power hungry fools in Makai. But I digress from the situation… you will do nothing son, as you are too emotional to do anything right at this moment. Were you to go and pick up your future bride yourself, I am not sure you will return here in one piece, given your feelings about your future bride’s grandparents.” She paused for a moment before stroking his arm gently. “Why don’t you go to the gym and cool off for a while? I will send your sister and brother to pick her up, and she can get out from her old life.” His mother said gently to him. Edward took a moment to ponder over his mother’s words before nodding. “You are right, mother… thank you.” He then gave both of his parents a hug, before going out of the room to go to the family’s private gym to let off some steam. Rodrigo smiled as he watched his son go and then turned to his wife. “As always, you are the one that he listens to dear. That was a superb way to cool him down.”
She smiled and said. “I know… if I left it up to you to solve things, you two would probably sporting bruises trying to solve your differences. But I must digress from this subject, husband. Why don’t you call Coleen and Rafael to your office and ask them to pick up their future sister-in-law? I will alert the house staffs to prepare a room next to Edward’s… you know the one with the interconnecting door?” Rodrigo grinned and nodded, and then got up to walk towards his office, stopping briefly to tell a house staff to tell his younger son and daughter to go to his office, while Henrietta informed the house staff of a potential new arrival to their household. Ten minutes later… Rafael and Coleen wondered why their father had summoned them to his office, and they noted that the house staff was quite busy earlier, moving and preparing the room that was connected to their elder brother’s. “Ahh, there you guys are… come in, come in. And please sit down… we have something to discuss.” Rodrigo said to his children as he spotted them standing in the doorway. Both of them sat down, and Rafael said. “Alright dad, what is this about? You don’t summon us like this unless there is some kind of emergency. Are we in trouble or something?” Rodrigo regarded his second son with a calm expression. Like Edward, he was tall and lean and muscular… but because of his stronger werewolf genes, Rafael’s hair was a bit wilder and untamed, and also of a light sandy brown instead of the dark brown that his brother had. His eyes were also of a bluish grey color, like his father… while Edward had light emerald eyes that take after his mother. He then fixed his gaze on his daughter, Coleen who turned eighteen this year. She had a curious look on her face, and she was almost a copy of her mother, with the slender and busty body, though it was slightly more toned due to her slight werewolf heritage as well. She had the same long raven locks like her mother as well as her smoldering emerald eyes. He nodded and said. “It concerns a human girl that your eldest brother had taken a fancy to when he was in Shokushu. Apparently, he saved her from some kind of escaped experiment which resembled those plantlings that exist in Makai. Long story short, they almost raped the young lady, and your brother saved her, and she gave him her virginity as her token of gratitude.” He paused for a moment and then said. “Now apparently, your future sister-in-law’s history wasn’t a good one. She was born a bastard of some soldier that knocked up her mother during his duty in Korea, and then her mother was disowned by her traditional prudish family for disgracing the family name. Later, the young woman married an American who did alright by her for the first few years, before turning abusive and the mother sent her daughter to her grandparents and disappeared soon after. Mikaela, that is your future sister-in-law’s name was brought up in a strict environment by her grandparents who more than likely hated her. Your brother brought this up to my attention, and he decided to marry her to get her out of there. I sent a marriage proposal letter a few days ago with a sizeable dowry, and here is the reply.” He passed them the letter and said. “Read it, and tell me what you think about it.” Both the younger Silvear children read the letter, and the gist of it was that the grandparents were honored to receive such an offer from a prestigious family, and that they were most happy for Mikaela to be married into the Silvears. They also apologized beforehand, as Mikaela was a bastard and a dishonorable girl that took after her mother and they hoped that the Silvears would make sure that the girl is well disciplined in order not to bring shame to their family as well. Rafael snorted as he put down the letter and said. “This is a bunch of bull shit if you ask me, dad. Brother has always told us about Kaela since his arrival and even though we never met her, we can tell she is sweet and a good girl to be around. Certainly nothing like the crap that her grandparents wrote her to be.” Coleen nodded and her eyes smoldered with fury as she put her two cents in. “Rafael is right, daddy. I never met Kaela before, but brother told me that she wasn’t someone to judge easily. He told me that he told her about me and mom, even showed her our photos… and all she said that we were beautiful people who are just confident about our bodies! And she is so sweet and good natured… those two old fossils certainly do not know what they are losing by agreeing to this.” Rodrigo smirked as he heard his younger children’s opinion and said. “Very well then… now that I know your thoughts about this, it’s time I told you why I called you here. You two are to prepare yourselves to pick up your sister in law today. Dress in your most formal attire and Coleen… I know you hate to dress as a prim and proper person, but you must do this to get your sister-in-law out of there without incident. You understand that, don’t you?” Rafael just nodded and Coleen smiled. “Of course, daddy… may we go now? I suppose you have already arranged for a private jet at the airport to bring us to Korea?” Rodrigo smiled and said. “I have indeed, princess… now go ahead and make your preparations. You leave by the hour, understand?” Both Silvear children nodded as they made their preparations, and soon a car drove them from the Silvear estate to Heathrow Airport where a private jet was waiting for them to take them to Korea, and their mission was simple, get their sister in law away from her prudish grandparents.
