Resident Evil 5- Reanimated Humanity

Never Forgotten

Intro

Thunder rolled, the darkness of the retreating night was split by flashes of lighting. The room was no longer silent; gargling pained moans and pleas for salvation in some unknown language born of desperation. Grabbing hands pawed and grasped at the air as the man’s vision began to swim. One twisted paw curled around the gloved hand of the woman that had dragged him here, the same woman that had slaughtered the rest of his team. With blurring vision he looked up into the emotionless bird like mask. Tears of agony dripped down his face as the whites of his eyes bled out, an inhuman darkness spreading over the surface, smearing over the windows to his soul.

The cloaked female ripped her arm away, a booted foot coming up striking the sweating man’s jaw, he flew back rolling into a graceless heap on the dusty floor. For a moment all was still. Behind the red tinted lenses of the silver bird mask silver blue eyes narrowed, no trace of pity in them. She was positive that the man like all the others was dead. -Inferior subjects equal inferior results you know this better then anyone so why are you wasting valuable resources?- It’s not at all like you. She turned quickly her cloak billowing out like demon wings.

Suddenly the subject arched, she could hear his back popping and shattering. Wet bubbling sounds accompanied the final scream of a damned soul. She turned to look over her shoulder as a writhing mass of what in her mind appeared to be thick black leech like cables spread over the shuddering body. -Yet another rejection.- Her eyes drifted to the window, she didn’t have much time, she could hear them scampering around, ants disturbed by some one poking at the hill with a stick. -But at least you’ll serve a purpose.-

Outside dawn had broken the veil of shadows worn by the unreal African night. They swarmed around two jeeps gathering gear eyes tired but filled with the blaze of ‘righteous’ fury. This would be the start of what had almost become a holy war for them. Weapons and gear were clicked and locked into place not a single palm was dry as the heavy doors of the gate were pulled shut.

In his hands the aged walkie-talkie crackled and hissed with static. His expression darkened as a bead of perspiration formed and slid down his cheek. Skilled fingers shifted down the scarred hide of the device adding pressure to all the right sweet spots soothing away the crackling complaints of the device. “DeChant here, we’ve secured the underground route to the coordinates.”

Several moments pass before a smooth voice responded; “Well done Captain DeChant, keep us informed of your progress don’t leave any of those bastards alive.”
