Small Favors

Whispers, like the prelude of a storm, spread through the courtyard as he walked up to the school. He didn't even want to be there, much favoring his comfortable bed at home. But, like always, Axel had talked him into coming.

Hardly hidden comments accompanied laughter and fingers pointed at his back as nearly the entire student body of Radient Garden High made fun of him. Roxas shrugged his backpack up higher on his shoulders, hood up and head down. Inside yeilded much of the same result, dulled slightly by the presence of teachers. Some people whistled, most laughed, a few remarked, "take it off, Roxy!"

He grit his teeth and moved to his locker, jamming his stuff into it and just pulling out what he needed. The snickering wasn't letting up, but he was given a grateful distraction when a tall, lanky boy leaned against the lockers next to him.

"'ey Rox," Axel's remarkabley red hair had somehow been wreslted back into a spikey ponytail, bulky headphones around his neck and attached to the MP3 player in his hand. He crossed black buckled shoes at the ankle, lounging without a care inthe world, and it made Roxas glower. He closed his locker door harshly, the metal clang resounding even in the noisy hall.

"Eesh," Axel pulled a face, "not still upset are you? I mean, it's been almost a week."

Roxas gave him a dirty look, tucking his English book under his arm, "tell that to everyone else."

"Oh, c'mon, it's a bunch of fucking high schoolers, what do you expect?" the red-haired goth pushed off the lockers to follow his blond best friend.

"If anything, I should be the angry one. But you don't see me glaring at you," Axel put his arm around Roxas's shoulders, smiling down at him.

Roxas was about to reply when someone bumped hard into his shoulder. A taller blond cast sharp eyes down at him, a smirk on his lips.

"Roxas, you look a little...overdressed," his voice echoed throughout the hall, causing laughter to ripple across the crowds.

"Seifer," Axel moved to the other side of Roxas, blocking him from the Struggle team captain, "what're you doing in the halls? Isn't it time for your daily blowjob? Oh wait, it's Thursday, Hayner's day off. Bummer, the hand just isn't as exciting, is it?"

More laughter erupted as Seifer's face turned an angry red.

"What the hell are y'all standing around fer? Git to class!" one of the teachers yelled from his classroom doorway, students bustling again on command. Seifer gave Axel a look that promised payback before moving off.

"Pff, he knows it's true," Axel turned to put his arm back around the blond's shoulders and found he was no longer standing there.

"Rox?" his height helped him look over the heads of the other students, quickly spotting the red hoodie headed for a pair of doors that led outside.
"Rox!" he caught up with him at the doors, closing one when the boy tried to open it. Roxas sighed and leaned back against the metal, looking up into green eyes, now trapped between Axel's arms.

"And where do you think you're going?"

"Home," Roxas stated.

"You can't go hoooooome, you're already here."

"I didn't want to be here to begin with," he crossed his arms. Axel smiled a little.

"Then why'd ya come?"

Roxas looked slightly taken aback for a moment, "you called me and begged me to come."

Axel smiled a little wider, "since when do you do what I ask?"

A very slight pink dusted over the blond's cheeks, brow furrowed, making Axel chuckle.

"Just stay for the day, please? I promise you'll leave in one piece," he added a little pleading to his face until the boy sighed.

"Fine."

But poor little Roxas was finding that more than difficult. Not even half of the school had been at the party, but gossip carries fast. Video clips carried even faster. So, every class he stepped into, every hall, people stared at him and laughed, not even behind his back anymore.

When checkered sneakers finally treaded across glossy gym floors, the steps were hesitant and wary. He had waited out in the hall as long as he could before the bell rang, hoping the locker room would clear out some.

The musty stench made him hold his breath the first few seconds. It seemed the only ones left were the nerds, some wallflower guys and two boys Roxas was pretty sure were gay. Suspicions comfirmed more when the boy with platinum hair pulled the beaming brunet out by his waist. He sighed softly, a bit relieved, and moved to his locker the change. But his locker was barely open when someone grabbed him from behind, holding his arms down and pulling up his shirt.

"What the hell're you-!"

"Turn him around towards the camera, y'know?"

Roxas tensed up before fighting back as best as he could. Seifer's cold laugh rang hot against his ear.

"What's wrong Roxy? M'just helping."

"Get the hell off of me-!" Roxas choked a little when a dirty sock was shoved into his mouth to muffle his noise. He struggled and struggled, but Seifer was just stronger.

"Y'know, your friend was right, today is Hayner's day off, but I'm in need of some help and you'll have to do."

A cold hand brushed down his stomach and his insides lurched.

"Under all your ridiculous clothes, you really don't look that bad," Seifer smirked, murmuring directly into the kid's ear, "cute, even."

Roxas tried yelling, but it sounded pathetic, making Seifer's smirk widen.

"Don't worry, I'll take that out, but your mouth won't be empty or long. Kneel, loser."

He turned Roxas around and forced him to the floor; Rai, at the same time, moving so he could get a better shot with the video camera. Seifer had reached for his pants zipper, but was stopped by a loud banging, proving to be Rai's head slammed against a gym locker. Axel took a final drag of his cigarette before snuffing it out under foot and letting the boy's head go.

"Seifer, what the hell do you think you're doing?"

The Struggle team captain growled, holding Roxas down, "mind your own business."

An almost dangerous glint sparked in Axel's eyes, his normally smiling face set in a deep frown, "this is my business."

"Well, isn't this romantic?"

The two taller boys stared at each other a moment, hard eyes connected, before the scuffle broke out.

When Roxas was pushed to the side, he immediately pulled the sock out of his mouth with a cough and bolted. Out of the locker room, gym, and the whole school, without looking back. He found himself wanting to cry as he blindly ran towards home, but, for some reason, he couldn't. Embarressed, nearly sexually assaulted, and terrified, he couldn't even cry.
