Anna Reborn
The auburn-haired angel strode through the bright hotel that was brilliantly lit by the radiating sun that shone through the large glass windows that surrounded the gorgeous Altamira Resort Hotel. He punched the up button on the elevator and rode up to the fifth floor, where he and his comrades were staying. The doors slipped open and Kratos stepped out into the small area in between the boy’s room and the girl’s room. Lloyd was the only one still sticking around; he had been notified by Kratos to meet him here around noon. Everyone else had hit the beach.
“Lloyd, grab your weapons and a couple extra clothes and put them in your bag.”
“Why?”
“I told you after Zelos died and I joined your group again that you would need a private practice session before we faced Mithos, did I not?”
“Yeah, I guess…. But does it have to be now? I was just about to go to the beach with everyone else…”
“Lloyd, would you rather enjoy a couple hours in the sun and then die in battle, or train and then save the entire world?”
Kratos finished in his deep, commanding voice. Lloyd sighed and jogged into the boy’s room. He didn’t have an answer to that one, as he knew what he had to do. Oh well… it couldn’t be helped. Tethe’alla and Sylvarant needed him, and if saving them meant missing a fun beach trip, then he guessed this training would be well worth it.
Ten minutes later, Lloyd and Kratos set out of Altamira, leaving a note behind telling the others where they were headed. The next coming days would determine the fate of the two worlds, and everyone needed to be prepared.
“Say, Lloyd…” Kratos remarked as Altamira disappeared from sight and they came across a large grassland. “Your combat style is very unique… yet even after all this, it is still unrefined. You must be perfect with every swipe of your blade, you must be in control. Anyone can swing a sword wildly, but only a true swordsman hones his technique and emerges victorious. Do you understand?”
Lloyd looked up at his father with curiosity. What did he mean by all this “combat style” and “technique” junk? Had he not accomplished enough to prove this man what he could do? Was releasing all those seals, forming pacts with every single summon spirit, save Maxwell (who he had heard about from Sheena), just not enough for him? What else did he have to do?
“Da—er, Kratos, what else can I do? What’s left for me to learn? I’ve done all this, I’ve destroyed so many people, and you still don’t think I have what it takes? I’ve got news for you, Kratos, I’m not some pushover. I even defeated you in battle… I think I’ve done enough.”
Lloyd stated with a smirk on his face, and jogging on ahead. Kratos ran a hand down the side of his face in frustration and caught up with his boy, staring sideways into the teenager’s face. He sure had the willpower and the drive, if it all came down to determination Lloyd outshone everyone. That one-track mind, the fire that burned inside him… He reminds him so much of her… One thing was sure, that boy was the living embodiment of his mother….. Anna…..
