A Devil May Cry one-shot fanfic in four parts
Inspired by the DMC fanfic "Dance Macabre"

Prelude

"In love and war, everything is allowed."

One-shot sequel/spin-off to a Devil May Cry fan fiction that has been pulled back for reworking; this is sort of a...stand-alone I wrote for laughs. Started with something I wanted to get outta my head, and ended up being something actually quite fun that I thought was worth sharing. I'd like to thank Alexx for his help with editing.

It has little to do with what happened in the actual fanfic. Tess is a fire-wielding witch with a 'sixth sense', whom Dante has known for nearly a decade. She has to stay at his place for a little...and of course, chaos ensues. Because you know how he is with women. But this one is different, because she's his match in wittiness and knows what he's all about; she's known him since they were teenagers. She isn't one to give in easily!

Note: For those that like to 'keep their ducks in order', some clarification on timeline and continuity is needed: Tess knew Dante from before DMC3, about the time both were 16, set in the 1st part of the original fanfic. They parted ways after that, and met again ten years later, post-DMC1. This fic's continuity isn't really important since it's not even canonical to the fanfic, which itself isn't canonical either, but just for the technical sake, its to be perceived as set post-DMC1, quite some time after the game's events.

Note 2: Due to many questions and some grumbling: There is a reason that Trish is absent from the story, even if its post-DMC1... The reason is explained in the actual 'Dance Macabre' fanfic, and I am afraid I can't spoil it here, and sadly the fic is not finished yet, and with my hectic college life and my work, it probably won't be done in quite a while. So I'm asking you to just trust me; when I don't mention characters in stories and so, I have good, thought-out reasons for doing so. Yes, I'm afraid the reason is a little upsetting for her fans, but no its not degrading to her person at all.
