Cold and Clam

Six months earlier

Snake looked back at Otacon as they ran through the hallway.
"They are getting close" Otacon yelled "We not gonna make it!"
Snake looked laughed "We've made it out of worse shit then this!" Snake pulled out his gun and shot the two men ahead of him "We are not going to die here!"
Otacon gave a small smile "I trust you."
Snake cleared the way and pushed open the door to let his partner into the room "Is this the right room?"
"Yeah it is." Otacon ran passed Snake and sat a the computer "It's going to take the viruse two mintues to take effect and then BANG!"
Snake laughed lightly "You get to much fun out of this."
Snake looked out the door and looked down the hallway to make sure everything was clear. "You ready?"
Otacon nodded "Let's hope this works."
"You not sure?" Snake looked puzzled.
"Call it a hunch." Otacon laughed.
The two exited the computer room and started for the lift. As the lift came down a bullets rained down from the lift.
Snake pulled Otacon down and to some cover "You stay here."
Snake looked around the corner and saw Ocelot "Damnit."
Ocelot walked off the the lift and looked around "Now, How do you get a snake to come out from hiding?" He said loudly.
Snake looked at Otacon "Take this.." He handed him a gun.
Otacon looked at Snake "It's been awhile but I'm sure I can still shoot something."
Ocelot had made his way closer to where the to men were hiding "I can smell you..." He shot at the wall barely missing Snakes temple "I can smell your fear." He shot two more times.
Snake looked at his friend and nodded "I'm going. I want you to make a run for the lift and get topside and leave. I'll follow."
Otacon nodded "Are you sure?"
"Yes." he said coldly.
Snake walked out and looked at Otacon "You were looking for me?"
Ocelot laughed "It was much easier then I thought to get you to come out."
Snake smiled slyly "It's too late. The metal gear will never work."
Otacon looked back and forth between the two men the stood in a dead stare. It was eerie to see these to soliders of war just waiting for one to make a move. It reminded him of the old western movies that had the long standoffs. Otacon blinked and looked at Snake's face, how cold and clam he was even though he faced death. Him on the other hand ,he was shaking and sweating. He hated this. He looked at the lift and decide to make a run for it.
He got up and ran head long past Snake and almost made it to the lift, then a shot ran out. He felt a sharp pain in his head and the got dizzy.
Ocelot laughed "You have a choice follow me and fight or try to save your friend!" he exited a door and walked down the hall "I'll be on the roof!"
Snake ran over to his friend and pulled him into his arms "Otacon, Otacom, open your eyes."
Snake looked down and the pool of blood by his leg. "Damnit." He started to wrap Otacon's head.
Otacon moaned.
"You have to stay with me" Snake pleaded with the man. He started to work faster trying to stop the bleeding.
Otacon opened his eyes and looked up and Snake "Dave, I almost made it. I tried."
Snake smiled down at his friend realizing that his friend was on death's door "I know."
Otacon smilied up and Snake and closed his eyes.
Snake sighed.
He stood up and picked up the body "The least I can do is to take you home."
As he walked out he heard Ocelot laugh "I guess you are a coward like they say."
Snake looked down at the body of his friend "I will not let him get away with this."
The voice over the intercom picked up "One minute until core meltdown. 59.....58....57..."

Six months after
Snake looked down at the grave in front of him. It had been only a few months since Otacon had died.
He kneeled down and sighed "If only you knew how much you really meant to me." He placed his hand on the cold stone and stood up.
As he walked away from the grave site he locked and loaded his gun. Thinking of how Ocelot just shot him with no thought made Snake pissed. He was on a damned and determined to make Ocelot pay for taking the one thing in his life that could acutally make him feel human away.
Snake laughed to himself "Even in death he makes me feel something."

Solid Snake the perfect solider. Solid Snake the man that saved the world so many times with no one knowing what was going on. He didn't do it for the glory. He didn't do it for fame.
He did it to keep Otacon safe. When he first saw him with Liquid he felt something rise in himself. Something that he had never felt before and would never feel again. He knew he wanted him, but he just didn't know how to tell him. That's what bothered him most. For everything he could say to Otacon, his partner, his friend, he could never tell him he felt something more than friendship for him. Now Otacon was gone and he couldn't tell him. Ocelot took that away from him and now he was going to pay.
Snake looked down at his gun. His hand shakeing with anger. Single action revolver. Big boss had given it to him.
"Fitting that he be killed by his own" Snake said aloud thinking his friend was still with him.
"Damn it, Ocelot!"
Snake looked around only to see that he was alone on the dark streets. He slowly made his way to the bar where he knew Ocelot should be.
He pulled a pill out of his pocket and took it. "This should last long enough to shoot him." He watched as his hand slowly stop shaking.
He looked at the door and walked to to it. He looked up at the sky "I'll be with you soon to tell you everything."
He pushed the door open.
