Calamity Affection
Disclaimer:
An exclamation to save ones own ass. *Ahem* Hate to state the obvious, but, I own no part of Namco, Soul Calibur, Soul Edge, or any insignificant part of formentioned items. So, I can't take credit for the basic plot... what little there is of it.

Author's Note: No sex this chapter, just a reason why our hero, a vagabond thief by the name Ikanser, quests for Soul Edge. For fun, I put his profile at the bottem.
Ikanser vs Cassandra:
A new Tale of Souls
Napping lazily on the branch he had chosen, Ikanser yawned. Nobody passed, at least none of his usual targets. At this rate, he'd be starving. Not something he wanted in the least. Almost as if fate had listened to him, he heard the tell tale signs of a traveler approaching. Looking down, he noted the hapless traveler and grinned. A pretty girl, about his age, in fine garments. While he noted the short sword and shield she carried, he was confident in his ability to beat her. Well, he never could hit a woman, especially not such a pretty one. Jumping down, he held up his gauntleted hand. "Sorry miss, but this road requires a toll."
He said, brandishing his weapons and grinning. "Anything of value on your person, please drop. I'd hate to have to cut that pretty face of yours."
He noted the expression of her face. Well, she seemed dtermine NOT to give him her money. Not a big surprise. He was a bit nervous when, as she drew her weapon, she seemed to know how to use it. Not usually to see in little blonde cuties. "I don't give anything to thieves! Prepare for a thrashing!"
'Damn, I hoped she had just given up. Ah well, time to earn my keep.' He thought, charging her with blades raise. Hopefully she would drop the weapons and run... a thought that was quickly remedied when his blades met her shield, it was a matter of agility that he jumped out of the way as her blade nearly met his face. He was handsome, at least he believed he was. Having it chopped in half was not a life long asparation. "Not bad..."
He said, waiting for her counter strike. The battle continued this way for some time, neither fighter gaining leverage against the other. Ikanser would have liked her, if not for the fact that she was trying to expose his innards to the light of day. He, on the other hand, was attempting to go for a knock out, but at this point, he wondered if he could get the kill even if he tried to. His best moves deflected off her sword and shield, and it took all his effort just to keep the pointy end of her sword from his breast. He wondered if the battle wouldn't go on all day...
The thought was briefly thrown away as he noticed movement in the trees. He knew he was agile, but that shape moved to quick to be human... it couldn't be? That momentary lapse of concentration was all Cassandra needed to get the upper hand, and Ikanser was thrown against the trunk of a tree. As she came to finish him off, or gloat, he clenched his teeth and suddenly said something that surprised him. "Duck!"
The gleam that must have caught in his face must have told her he was giving friendly advice. A large, blade like ring came close enough to both Cassandra and himself for comfort, burying itself a few inches away from his head. When he heard the child like giggling, he looked up to see an emerald, scantily clad girl drawing back the blade from the tree, apparently ignoring him completely. "Soul Edge won't be yours, but i'm sure your sister's children will get along well with it!"
They were apparently ignoring him completely. As the emerald clad girl, who seemed a few soldiers shy of a garrison took off, the woman he was fighting took off in persuit. Whatever grudge she had against him was ignored, in favor of her new quarry. When he didn't hear the sounds of running anymore, he raised up and felt around his face and head. Nothing of his was to badly hurt. Just his pride. Well, it wasn't like that hadn't been bruised before. Sheathing the two, curved blades, he brushed himself off. That girl was pretty tough, but he wondered if she could beat him without distraction. He needed a little payback, after all. Remembering what the other girl had said, he paused. "Soul Edge?"
He was swordsman enough to know about the legends. An infinitely powerful sword that made the weilder nigh invincable. It appeared the woman he had fought had a connection to it. He doubted he could find her. There didn't doubt there were hundreds of people in the world that fit her description. Soul Edge, however, was one of a kind. Chuckling, he knew what he had to do. To find the girl, he would find Soul Edge. Picking himself up, he made up his mind. He would go further north, to a place where warriors gathered. Maybe one of them knew where Soul Edge was. At the very least, maybe he could get information about it...

Weight: 165 lbs
Birth: November 8
Blood Type: A-
Weapon: Wave Swords
Weapon Name: Calamity and Catharsis
Dicipline: Self Style

Born Eric Wolfe, Ikanser was born to a pair of merchants, the basis of his current career. Growing up and hearing of Knights, of magical swords, and of chivilry, he was distraught when he found out his father was more like his hero's antagonist, Grendel. Watching as his father murdered a borrower, Ikanser changed his name, and caught the first ship to the mainland, abandoning all but his last name.
When he got to the mainland of Europe, he found that things were not always black and white. Keeping some of his morals, he turned to a Mercenary at first, but, finding it more profitable, became a thief. Robbing from richer individuals, it seemed like he would be far from the quest from Soul Edge, or Soul Calibur... until the day he met a traveler passing by....
