ChrisxHugo (working title)

Author's Notes--

Ok, this chapter isn't any kind of story at all, so just skip
to the next chapter if you want to get to the actual story, and not get insight
on why I'm writing this story the way I'm writing it. I don't know if it's been
done before, and if it has, I'm sorry. I'm writing this story as a challenge
to myself, and that challenge is:

Build a convincing romance between Chris and Hugo.

I've been reading the manga lately, and imho there is considerable
potential for ChrisxHugo.
"But she killed Lulu!" Hugo's maturing, he'll get over it and so will Chris.

"But don't the Zexens and the Karayans hate each other?!" This may be true for
some Zexens and some Karayans, however this translates more into the racial
divide of the real world between whites and blacks, however one must imagine a
better world in which blacks were never subjigated to slavery and the 'whites'
were not nearly so victorious in their imperialistic activities. Pairings
between Zexens and Karayans do exist (if only in the game, I have yet to find
any substantial evidence in the manga), so that obstacle is relatively easy to
surpass.

"But he's only 16-17 and she's 24+!" I'm setting this story a few years
after the events of Suikoden 3, so that isn't quite as much of a problem.

"But Borus has been vying for her attention along with the other knights!" That
is merely part of the competition. ;)

Admittedly, the most difficult obstacle to overcome will be the fact that Chris
did indeed kill Hugo's childhood friend, albeit in self-defense. Knowing this, I
may have to use certain underhanded tactics to get them closer together, though
this isn't likely to be 'permanent' as the latest manga issue I have is issue 7,
and 8 and 9 have yet to be published and distributed. As such, I will read
through these issues and make changes where necessary to adhere to the manga
canon, but even if the manga totally kills their chances, I shall ressurect
them, or ignore the 'ship-killer outright.

"But there's no sex yet, why are you writing this on AFF.net ?!" I'd rather have
more mature individuals read this than those that normally peruse
fanfiction.net. Plus, I'll include a few, if not several, wet dreams in addition
to the expected ChrisxHugo scene either in the very end, or even in the middle,
should I decide to continue the story after that event. On the note of wet
dreams, know that this is my first serious attempt at writing such things, so
reviewer input will be much appreciated. :)

Also, I do know that I write very long sentences, but please bear with me. :) I'
ll make the attempt to keep character dialogue from being uncharacteristically
long-winded. I'm no Shakespeare, either, as much as I may wish (much easier to
understand the shakespeare-ese in his plays if I were, the 'modern english
translations' that I've seen are absolutely horrible).

Also, on future author's notes, I may either include them before and after each
chapter in that individual chapter, or break up the chapters to do maybe one or
two story chapters, then a notes chapter, I haven't totally decided yet. ;)

I shall include a short 'teaser' chapter to get people's interest, and if I
should hold it sufficiently, I'll continue the story, otherwise I may abandon it.
This story depends on the reviewers, in short.


PS, the pen name is pronounced Sho-go-e. Sho (think of saying Show without
bringing the lips closer together for the 'w' sound) -go (same as Sho but like
Go, just no 'w' sound at the end) -e (Short 'e' sound, like egg, but without the
G's.)
