Asssassin for Hire
CHAPTER ONE:
She sat in the dark corner of theern, ern, drinking her ale slowly, and looking around, digusted, at the filth surrounding her. Her black hood was pulled low to hide her face. She knew that if anyone here realized there was a dark elf sitting in the corner, they would capture her, beat her, rape her, torture her, then publicly execute her. But it wasn't likely, for she made a living in the shadows.
As she finished her ale, she got up to leave, only to be waylaid by a rather ugly man, who, by the state his clothes were in, looked to be quite poor, and very drunk.
"Hey there, girly, how'd you like to spend a night with a real man?"
"When I see one, I'll tell you." She replied, not even breaking her stride.
He stood there for a moment, processing the remark, then realized she had insulted him.
"Hey! Nobody insults Edgar Jayfie!" He started after her, following her outside, on to the street.
"Come back here, you little wench!" He grabbed her arm and turned her around to face him, only to find a dagger buried up to the hilt in his stomache. She simply turned aound and kept on walking as the ugly man howled in pain and collapsed on the street. She smirked under her hood, knowing that the fast-acting poison would kill him in seconds.
She turned down an alley and walked to the place where she was staying, a run-down, abandoned old building. She undid the six separate and quite complicated locks that she had made herself, as she didn't trust anything of human make, and walked into her "home".
It was a very small place, with only three rooms. She walked in, and stopped for a moment to admire the place. The shelves with various poisons, the small couch in front of the fireplace, her weapon rack, in the far corner, and various other equipment she used for her job.
She managed to get a small fire going with the meager amount wood that she had, and sat down to reflect upon the day. all in all, it wasn't so bad, aside from the muggers, one of her best contacts geting assassinated, nearly getting killed by guards at theinovinov castle, failing to obtain the Jesinov family diamond, and the ugly man at the tavern.
Welcome to a day in the life of Kataliya De'amon, Assassin for Hire.
