Nicely done. I enjoyed reading this. Personally, I don't think that there's anything wrong with killing off a character, and it doesn't have to have anything to do with hating them, as you also noted. Hell, I like Lady, but I wrote a story where she had a miserable childhood. It's whatever concept comes to your head that matters.
I do have one informational correction for your story, though: Nero couldn't have left Yamato in Fortuna because, like the Aegis Shield, Sephirothic Fruit, Rusalka Corpse, and Evil Legacy, it's absorbed by his Devil Bringer and he summons it via magic (or demonic power; whatever your preferred term is). It wasn't until it was drawn out of his arm via magic in Mission 11 that it was once again in a physical form to be used. However, once Nero obtained it again, it went back to being absorbed by his arm.
Anyway, although the reason you gave isn't exactly supported by canon info, I like that you actually wrapped up your story instead of just ending after the sex like many authors. It makes it feel like a completed work instead of a PWP. Good work overall. : )

I like it very much. I don’t normally like it when a fan-author kills a love interest so two characters can get together, but you pull this off very well here. Nice change of pace with the “cowgirl” position too.
Don’t know if you were thinking of it or not, but I’d love to see a sequel to this if you’ve got any more ideas.
