Oooh I absolutely love this story. You make the characters so fun and mood switchy! And I love how the sweet, hyper guy turns out to have an evil dark side. I can't wait to see what dante ends up doing with him!

I'm wondering how seriously I should take your repeated references to Gilgamesh, 'cause if I'm remembering right, that story has some distinct similarities to this one.

Don't know that this experience is going to help Dante over his fear of relationships though, given as it seems like this is exactly what he was afraid of; getting attached to someone and having to kill them again. So far, it seems like it's more likely that it's going to make him worse.

Well hey there,

I have got to give it to you - you do have a knack for taking something that fans think they know oh so well and turning it into a trip that goes exactly the opposite way at 200 miles per hour. Monster is very originally thought out, and your character development as well as timeline keeping are both rather impressive. I think your story is a good example of taking a given known character and making it completely your own.

What stuns me even more is that you have so far managed to avoid not only the typical fanfic cliches, but also mainstream literature ones. It's rare these days to find a book, nevermind a freely published story based on a game character, that does not plow straight into every single "Damn, I ran out of originality" pitfall.

Fantastic work, hope to see more soon!

oh i forgot! i really hope seth is not the one dying in the first chapter....i mean there's foreshadowing all over the place on that, but i keep my fingers crossed anyway, i've grown fond of such a cute character ^^.

This story..... freaks me out to no end. I love it. The way you made Dante and Seth's relationship makes me think of some pretty weird things. I can't help but to notice a parallel between Seth and the Animal and Dante and Vergil. Seth is more relaxed while the Animal is vicious and angry. True, Dante sometimes does come off brash and cold. Most of the things you see in the games and the Anime is that he is more laid back. Vergil on the other hand.... him and the Anime defiantly act a lot a like. Kill being the main word in their vocabulary.-grins-

Truth be told I wanted to stop reading when I saw 'Seth' because I can't stand mary-sues. I am still having second thoughts about this one, though in the more recent chapters it has me hooked. I want to see Seth die. Dante and his heartbreak? I saw that one a mile a way. I am sure you didn't mean for Seth to be a hate able character, but, I hate him. I really want to see Dante pull that sword from Seth's body and watch him die. -Shrugs- If this depresses you? I am sorry, that's just the way I am.

Good writing though. I am going to stick to this story. It has me hanging on. Thanks for giving me something steamy to read on these cold nights. -wink-

Oh wow this such a good story. I've 'read' many fanfictions here but this is one of the only two fics that made me read the whole thing rather than just skimming it. I hate OCs but this story is an exception, Seth is a really good character and I just think he's great.

Werewolves are the only furry that I like (I just love wolves =P) and i'm glad you made one with Dante, that was hot @.@;

OK, if I ever had questions regarding Dante's sanity, they're all gone now. He's completely bats :P I can only imagine his demonic healing is too fast for his own well-being. He has no sense of self-preservation left whatsoever. He's on the best road to lose himself and destroy what he still cares about. -.- The Animal must be laughing its ass off.
I was pretty shocked after ch. 19. Dante has so little humanity left in him, it's frightening. O.o Your approach is much darker than I believed. Funnily enough, my first thoughts were that if you ever wrote a story about Sparda, you would totally make him a ravenous psychopath that had to be assassinated for everyone's sake. :P

I love mystery stories. ^^ It's great you focus on that aspect too. Every other fanfic I've seen with such elements usually included an intro to the intrigue but everything was sorted via brutal crashing in the end. >.> It feels really good to finally see Dante doing investigating stuff, not simply exterminating things. :P I hate it when he's all brawns and no brains.

Anyway, I can't wait to see how Dante and Seth's relationship will develop. Dante seems to assume a very intriguing role, I wonder if it's natural to his character or not...

Ack! He's such a prick! I can't believe he did it to Damsel >.< Every time I start to pity him a little bit you just have to remind me what an asshole he is ;P I like it how you stressed his inhuman attitude; I can totally how he put all these layers to protect himself and forgot how to deal with emotional things properly. It's frustrating, really, how he refuses to admit his feelings. His blockheaded-ness may cause even more problems...
I have to say I didn't expect Dante to accept what happened in ch. 13 that easily. He really is loose in that field. O.o

Poor kitties. *sobs*

Loved Seth bits in chapters 14-16 (except for kitties scene... I'm traumatized now LOL). Unfortunately my brain is too fried to try to figure out his past and his connections to the Animal and that Lance guy. Somehow it feels like jigsaw puzzle with too many elements. Very intriguing ^^
Am I seeing things, or is Dante already pretty involved in this case?
Either way, Seth now looks more firm than ever; I mean, as a character without unnatural dissonances. I used to be baffled by his 'soft' side, but now it starts to make sense to me... I think.

At first I was kinda reluctant to see Trish, but you pulled it off without mishap. She fits well and yes, it's nice to have her there. ^^ At least Dante has more to ponder on. He might give that impassive, brittle attitude, but he still cares. I really liked his reaction to Haunted Mansion incident.

Heh, there are so many tiny details I love in this fic, but meh, there's no use drooling all over them here. XD

As much as I want to know what happens next, I have to admit you ended it in a pretty good moment... It looks like it marks a pivotal point for both overall plot and Dante and Seth's relationship.
Still, I can hardly wait to read more ^^

*squeals delightedly* After so many warnings, I poked around ch. 13 as if it was a spiky hedgehog. But! You somehow managed to nail most of my favorite kinks in that scene. (Well, except Tom at the end, lol.) It was gripping, engrossing and simply perfect. I just love the idea of Dante submiting to someone. BP was exceptionally tasteful - heck, the whole scene was easily one of the best I've ever read! And not only the sex was fascinating, but man, Dante's loss of control... I can almost see his shell cracking.
I love Seth in this chapter. Meh, I love everything in it. Such a treat! XD I regret I couldn't get to read it earlier; no harm done however, I'm addicted again.
Voyeurism suits Dante well.

Was it DT sex you mentioned earlier? I hope that was it (loved it! ... I'm repeating myself), the image of having sex with fully formed giant bug is hideous x_o I hate all insects with passion, but I kinda like Dante's bug DT. There's something intriguing in such a handsome man transforming into monstrous cockroach, haha.

As for Tom, he's a surprisingly nice fellow. XD He sounds like a typical gothic kid with little brains, but you somehow managed to make him a real person, not paper character. Now that I think of it, I even have Tom the goth in my family, LOL. He wears all black, studded belts and heavy boots, easily pushes 6.3 ft and is certainly the most scary person related to me. XDD Almost polar opposite of your Tom. The first thing I thought of when I read that name though was 'Bobby the emo' featured in parody video on Youtube. XD

(Btw, white eyes. It's fascinating, this concept. ^__^)
*purrs* I couldn't contain myself and just had to drop a line or two. I'm off to further chapters.
