Magnificent Chapter! The fight was done with vivid images, till you could feel the reverberation of Ogres movements and Jins heaving body trying desperately to keep up. So many times I have seen a fight like this written, only to find Toshin too quickly dispatched...but this was a battle!
I really enjoyed the antagonist Devil lurking in Jins mind. One can only imagine what it would feel like to have your darker subconscious constantly beating you down...slaking beneath your skin like fire...never free of it.
I am SOOOO glad you picked up on the fact Yakushima was not destroyed during the Devils rampage through Jins puppetted body! That was wonderful perception on your part, since Yakushima is such a sacred space to Jin, rife with memories of his mother and the sheltered life they shared. It really is the seat of Jins gentle side...a place of history and ancestral power and no matter how wicked the devil may be...something so sacred would never suffer a single leaf scorched in the Demons madness. Not so long as Jin drew one moment of conscience.

Haha, with how Hwoarang is, he may very well end up in the hospital again. ^_^;
And I do still like this update, even if it was a little short. ;D Jin angst is inevitabe, given his situation, and you do it well without making him seem like someone just needs to slap him. Heh. I like the way you portrayed him as being a little bitter about his plan - I mean, who REALLY wants to kill the rest of their bloodline, including yourself, no matter how good the reason is? And it's fitting that Jin would wonder what Jun would think - not only about the plan, but his trying to avenge her by killing Ogre. Revenge usually leads down a wicked path, or whatever they say. Good intentions and all that.
Heh, and as always, I enjoy Jin's thoughts concerning Hwoarang. ^_^ Hwoarang's his chosen. Oh, adorable. ^_^

This chapter really stands out. Your characterization of Jin is fantastic, his motivation is without question. I really enjoyed the way you brought Hwoarang into Jins thoughts and that line about "this being the last thing chosen" was intense. Really looking forward to the update and the first meeting of Jin/Hwoarang!

Angel is amusing the hell out of me. XD I like the way you have her conversing with Hwoarang. And that little dash of het wasn't a bad thing at all, because like you said, we all know Hwoarang's going to end up with Jin anyway, so.. Plus, I really think Yon deserves something for all of her efforts. I definitely didn't see the twist coming that she knew the doctor! I would have thought someone in that situation would have despised Hwoarang, but if she heard Hwoarang's teammate brag about it - ugh, I still can't believe those guys.
I really really like the description of Hwoarang's wings emerging, and his flying for the first time. Very beautiful imagery. Also, "fight or flight - literally" is great. XD I do hope nothing bad happened to Yon - is there going to be any followup on her, or was that pretty much the end of her role in this fic?

..wow, that Kang guy really gets on my nerves.. though Chin does, too. I bet Yon is being nice to Hwoarang because she's got a bit of a crush, but who can blame her? Heh. I really hope she doesn't get into trouble for this, and that Baek manages to make a deal, also. Can't wait for the next update!

Yay for a Hwoarang-centric chapter! This was written really well. I'm glad you told us the rationale behind Hwoarang taking the mission. I liked that you had him refuse at first, because who would likely say 'yes' right off the bat, let alone Hwoarang? Great job. Looking forward to the next update

This was truly fantastic. I really mean that. It's so great seeing a good JinHwo fic with such a new and interesting plot! I love the idea of Hwoarang (eventually) having to take on Angel's powers, especially with him being such a "bad boy", though he is good at heart. It was wonderful how you worked in the canon of the actual endings in Tekken (and I loved Xiaoyu's dream sequence XD), and your characterization of the characters we've seen so far have been really great. I especially like the way you describe people's auras and their mindsets. It worked really well for when Jun couldn't understand the Korean of Hwoarang's daily life. This was really really great stuff. Can't wait for the next update!
