i started reading this fic when you had uploaded the first three chapters. i followed it along...
yesterday, since a looong time, i looked into the dmc-rubric and thought, mh, 'primal'? doesn't that sound familiar? - and oh yes, it does.

awesome!!
fantastic writing style, great dialogue and incredibly mature and descriptive i loved how you totally nailed the characters personalities and added to them oh so convincingly - i think i'm starting to fancy dante now! and lady really did deserve more attention from capcom's writers - adorable
i dug how the pace changed from dark and sexy (lady, dante and vergil's relationship) to all of a sudden incredibly mature and full of humanity and pathos in the way you handled lady's history with her father and vergil - vergil you bastard! but seriously all that was done so sensitively without being expliotative at all - such good writing - do not listen to your detractors for they are merely hacks!
and then everything became so romantic with the tale of sparda and eva - lush!!! i'm hooked!

Thank you for coming up with such a wonderful story! I couldn´t stop reading it last night and now I´m all tired but happy xD The way you write is like watching a rare painting forming up, the language both screaming agony and such touching beauty despite the themes of this fic. I hope we will get happy ending though, but what ever you decide to come up with it surely will be something totally awesome! Like this says a woman who has read fanfictions for last 6 years and see all kind of fics! ^____________^
Oh, btw, the scene where Lady violated Dante after him calling Lady a whore - it would have been a "nice" touch if Lady spat on Dante before leaving, since I would have AT LEAST spat on the person who calls me a whore after attacking on me himself xD

Damn good, in my personal opinion.
Seriously, people need to lighten up a little. I'm not a chick who's into the whole Dante x Vergil & vice-versa pairing but I do like the story. I think this is quite interesting and hope that you will continue writing more Solstice!! Let me know when you update. I will definitely read it!!!

Okay, here's probably why so many people are freaking out and declaring your story a failure: everybody loves Vergil. He's an evil little bitch that everyone wants to strangle, but they still love him. They can't freaking help it! Both Dante and Vergil have polar opposite versions of charisma, but they've still got it. Calling Vergil the embodiment of all evil—not good.
I, for one, am holding back my judgment until later on in the story—I know better than to pass judgment early on—but even I am experiencing some teeth gnashing at the idea of Vergil being so evil as to be unredeemable. But hey, maybe that's not even the direction you're going in, so I'm going to just shut up and enjoy the ride.
And why is everyone having their little rant-fests in the reviews section? There's this niffty little feature labeled "Discuss Story." Why not use that?
I, for one, am holding back my judgment until later on in the story—I know better than to pass judgment early on—but even I am experiencing some teeth gnashing at the idea of Vergil being so evil as to be unredeemable. Ah, yes, the flamers. Another reason why I choose not to post on AFF anymore.
But that doesn't mean that I won't review.
Let me congratulate you on a story well done. What I've read is not only original, but it's well put together and developed. While Dante is a bit OOC (not being so much a brooder as he is a smartass and a lazyass) I'm really impressed with the depth you give him in regards to his obsession over Dante. It's that way in the games, the books, the manga... everything. Not so much in the anime yet, but then again, there's only what... eight episodes out at this point?
Your syntax, formatting, and grammar is superb. In fact, it's so superb that my English professor would be jealous. It's nice to read a story that has a great setup and formatting, and it's easy on the eyes to read. Ignore the flamers on here that declare your story to "suc" and just keep right on creating your amazing chapters.
Flamers on this site all have one thing in common. They have no brains. Period. Trust me, I know. XD
