Wow. I am very surprised to say I have never read anything like this on this site. And that's a compliment, not a criticism (knowing other fics around this site, usually the above-stated would be a criticism) This story is completely unique, and that's definitely rare. Where to begin? Well, first of all, the characters are fantastic. Young Vicki has a minor part, but she's lovable and hilarious. I was laughing long and hard over the straw part...it was beautiful. Percival was a true guy, which was a little infuriating, but I was actually grateful for the honest portrayal - it was refreshing from the bad boys and sappy fellows that usually populate these fics. And Vicki. Well, until reading this, I would have confidently stated that her character could not be done well. However, this story amazes me. Yes, she's downright ditzy and completely hilarious. But even more surprising, you enabled her character to handle a very new and serious situation without making her OOC! My hat is off to you! I also especially like the way it's written in the first character. It gives it a very entertaining flavor and adds depth to the story that could not be reached if the reader wasn't inside Percival's (longsuffering) head. And the extra little details put in the story were fantastic - and often very comical. The whole feel of the story was great, and so different from anything I've read here. It made light of the situation while staying sweet, yet being very honest, and slightly sardonic. It's like a whole new genre. In short - fantastic!
