I've heard a lot about this too.

.(I'd be happy if you replied to this review.)

"It is good.

but that's actually where it ends."

My only real issue with the story is that you give yourself far too much credit for it - if you're going to point out other shadamy stories that are cliched or unoriginal, please you check yourself first. i don't say this disrespectfully or defensively since I've never written any fanfics, i mean it bluntly; you do need to take a step back, because you've done what plenty have done before. Just because Shadow hasn't fallen from the sky and such, doesn't give this story the excuse to not be just as naive. I don't speak for one out of a million, because more experienced authors, writers, and readers do not think as highly of this story as the rest of this review page, who seem to be less experienced in bouts of fanfiction reality. And I do want you to pay attention to this, and again, I'd be happy if you also replied.

The storyline is simple and basic and does not make itself out to be a breath of fresh air or something outstanding so that it can stand out against other great or bad shadamy stories or be able to compete with them, and though the shadamy concepts are the shine of the story, it has been repeated throughout shadamy history since its fandom birth. The continuation of A Rose and A Thorn's sequel series still has that never ending consistency and still has not pulled itself away from the normalcy or creativity of other shadamy fics.

honestly but respectably, this could have been written by anyone because of the frank simpleness and used-before ideas and interpretations about shadamy, and i'm generally shocked that this had to be written by two people.

I don't really see what relates so realistically to 'relationships' when it comes to this story, other than one to two ideas. There are its moments of course....but it's only a couple. The pace isn't constructed, but rushed to the point of me not being able to take in everything long enough, and is not believable enough for me to see this as canon shadamy, or for me to see this ever actually happening between the two this WAY at this pace. So, this isn't an entirely believable story, and most of it, for all of the characters, is OOC with the exception of some scenes.

No matter what it is you believe, this truthfully does lack strife to have originality. but that doesn't make it a bad read, for the record. It just doesn't put it on a pedestal above the rest and is marked for, "nice read." My main detachment might be because I've read better. Even if i have read better DURING this story's publish, it wouldn't naturally matter to me...but something about the story blocks me from respecting it or remembering it.

though after reading the review page, i feel like the readers are readers who either have not stuck around to read good ShadAmy stories of this late day and age, or just don't read them frequently if at all, and you as a writer, present yourself that way also. They have a 'Twilight'-syndrome reaction, and we all know the truth of Twilight. I can honestly say they are sucking up to you in a way that shocks even me.

If Sonic being the bad guy of every ShadAmy story is cliche, then the dialogue, "You deserve better Amy" is way more cliched and dishonest about the SonAmy relationship. Amy isn't a damsel in distress just because Sonic won't promise his life to her when she's obsessing over him verbally and physically, which would give any normal boy a headache. How come Sonic should treat her any less than what she's earning herself? As far as gaming reference, Sonic has never turned Amy down or abused her in any way while someone in reality would scream at that girl every day. This is something the fans have made up. Shadow, of all mature people, wouldn't give Amy the pity-party because of that.

The person below/above me seems to be the only one here with the guts and higher level of readership knowledge to admit to that. heck, i even read some of that person's stuff and they're one of the few fanfiction writers who truly outdo themselves and is even aware of her 'pros and cons.'

Again, I'd be happy if you replied. I want your opinion.

And no worries here, because like you said, flaming is saying, 'you're crap,' and i usually do that when i'm flaming.

yea i unfortunately have to agree with everyone else. Stories like these actually give shadamy a bad name more than stories that always start with shad ow falling out of the sky. people blame us fans for making sonic the incarnation of the devil or shadow and amy the victims of everything in all shadamy fandom, which makes other good shadamy writers have to take the blame for their/your faults. you haven't saved shadamy fandom, if that's what you thought this was. you've just added onto an even longer lister of why shadamy should not be supported.

I have to admit, this was kind of cheesy and corny. ^.^;

At some turns it felt way out of character, and that out of character part was surely the best part. With characters like Amy and Shadow, two characters in the Sonic-verse desperate and in need for change, it was definitely a good thing to see, and a role of having them grow. I like the idea of Sonic being darker, too, and poor Tails...

I read the whole story and what can I say: you (both) made me cry in the last chapters. That counts for something.
This is the most reasonable Shadamy fic I have read in my life.
Maybe the only beeing that seemed kindda out of character was Rouge, but I still belive it is a minor lack of the story. Sonic... it's a big question, maybe seeing him capable of such deeds was quite OOC, maybe not. Only a real Sonic may tell.

Yet the jokes were brilliant))

By the way, where can I find a sequel?

Now, I know I am very late in reviewing this piece of work.
And usually, I don't even read fanfiction to begin with - especially not the, uuuuhm... the one with more sex in it like this one.
But I decided to give this one a go, anyway, and I can now safely say, I did not regret it.
I love the combined effort put into this great piece of literature by both of you, Froggy and Harley. Not only was the writing style capable of capturing my interest, it really showed that you knew what you wanted to final result of the story to be. It showed that you put a LOT of thought into it (or maybe you put no thought into it, but just slammed your heads on the keyboard and this is the result, but it seems a BIT unlikely...). Each scene is well-thought out and every character portrayed has a purpose to help the plot, if only in the slightest of ways. Best examples for that would probably the Chaotix. They were there, and, even though not too important to the story, they were still a great addition, nevertheless, and especially thinks like Knuckles and Espio argueing made the characters oh so much more believable.
All in all, I think you caught the personalities of every single character more than just well - something the fewest of authors working with other people's characters can managed to do. You did a wonderful job in creating a just as wonderful story. Every scene would create a bunch of images in my head, in which I could easily see the events described happening as a lil' movie in my head. Writing has to be pretty damn good to cause that in my head, and apparently, that, your work is.

The only thing about this whole thing that confused me, really, is Amy's supposed last name "Blossom" - where'd that come from all of a sudden? I mean, her established last name is Rose, always has been...

Oh well, aside that, really awesome story, Froggy and Harley. I am now going to read the sequel, which I already wait for to read - if only I head more time to read deep into it, but at least that'll keep the suspense up.

All in all, a greatly told and thought up story - can't repeat it often enough.

Well, I'm sure what I'm about to say has probably already been said, but here goes nothing:

This is agreat piece of fanfiction. Not oly that, but it's a shining ray of hope for fanfiction everywhere. It's more than just nighttime fantasy of a teenager with basic literacy skills and access to a keyboard. It's well thought-out, consistent with the characters, and most suitably fleshed-out to suit an adult audience. Also, it's great that Sonic isn't the oh-so great superhero, and that flaws I never realised were there are highlighted for all to see. It really makes you think about how these characters behave, or should behave in the mainstream fiction.
It's a shame there aren't as good writers working on the real Sonic-based literature, or else the world would be a beter place. The major strength of pieces like this is that they don't have to be kept suitable for kids, or ideal for a kids demographic,or whatever. You speak your mind, and to hell with whoever doesn't like it.
Many kudos and other good things to you. This has kept me coming back night after night to read more, and for that I thank you.

I must say I sure am enjoying this fic. It's hard to find something that's worth reading here. I get shivers when I find the gems of aff.net. Seriously. This one is a gem! Not only do I enjoy reading the fiction itself but I ALWAYS love reading the commentary you guys write before and after each chapter! It's hilarious! And I love you two for it. Keep up the great work.

I love it. K. :D
